Thanks for posting the picture!

I am surprised about the new hair pieces for Elrond and Arwen! The Council of Elrond suddenly became a must-have. The two white wizards, the Mouth of Sauron and Gondorian Aragorn all look superb!

Minor disappointment: Aragorn's print in the Corsair Ship and Gimli with helmet in the Council of Elrond (didn't wear a helmet when trying to smash the ring).

Major disappointment: three bald orcs.

Even without seeing final pictures of the set, I'm looking forward to add three of the sets to my collection. My interest in the ship is zero. Its sole appeal stems from the King of the dead and his soldiers, but I don't consider them must-haves.

I do hope that the Saruman/G-White hairpiece is separate from the beard piece. It looks like it probably is, but I can't be sure. I've waited so long for a white hair piece!

Sorry to say they are not, it's a too tight fit. Also ine the videogame the same piece is just 1 aswell.

All the new figures look pretty good, new elf hair is sweet.

I'm surprised they didn't replace the two orcs for two Pirates of Umbar. It would have made the set more appeal.

Now for some nitpicking.

- No leg print for Saruman

- No gloves for arven (and her dress is wrong color but I can understand why)

- No leg print for Gandalf the white.

- Elronds leg printing ends too high up.

- Of the dead figures would be better off with tattered capes.

- The soldier of the dead with the brown hand would be better off with gray hands like the rest. looks more ghostly.

+ Nice new molds, Mouth of sauron 'crown', new elf hair and white wizard hair.

+ Nice printed crown for Elrond

+ Fantastic King and soldiers of the dead print & color. Hopefully the soldiers have alternate reversible head.

+ Arwens face print looks like liv tyler. and its very elven looking

Despite the lack of some leg printing for the wizards all the new minifigs are very good! :wub_drool:

Also the white horse from 'the lone ranger' will work out very well for Arwen's horse

Without going into potential spoilers, you'll definitely have second thoughts about this statement after the Hobbit trilogy. Assuming PJ and crew stay somewhat true to Tolkien, that is.

I think I know what you're talking about. I agree that we'd probably be more likely to see Galadriel from The Hobbit, though a minor complaint, her costume is plainer than the one she wears in the Trilogy (that one has flowery patterns while The Hobbit just has a few sequins, from what I can see).

Back on topic... Elrond and Arwen look nice. I hope they're sticking with that colour on Elrond because it's more accurate than the game's version (which is more of a reddish-brown, like the Uruk-hai).

And my mistake on the legs, the new image proves that it's just a trick of the lighting. Oh well, I thought having unique hips was extremely unlikely anyway.

I just hope we get a white dress version of Galadirel, not her evening dress, or some potential other dress.

Far as I can tell Elrond's legs and torso +print Looks just like it does in the game. Dark red with brown boots. http://images.vg247.com/current//2012/11/LLOTR-Elrond-at-the-Council.jpg

Glad to see Gondor Aragorn, Gandalf the White and Saruman are the same as the video game. All three figures look amazing! The Mouth of Sauron is great too. I like they gave his helm a more metalic look compared to the game.

Elrond is great as well. Very nice colour selection and his new face looks even better than the previous one.

Arwen looks lovely, but is her dress supposed to be her riding costume? They would've been better doing it in dark grey or dark green. Either way I can't say I'm as excited for this one compared to the others when we still haven't gotten Eowyn or Galadriel.

A few thoughts:

-Saruman's robes cover his legs 99.9% of the time, leg printing is not really needed

-Arwen is not in her Ford of Bruinen costume here (as wesker asked), this is closer to her gown in the Rivendell departure scene.

-Gandalf the White usually has heavy robes too

-Agree about Elrond and the dead, but it's a minor quibble.

-Hands are an easy swap, seems like they were trying for variety. But green is best, true.

My own reactions:

-Orcs are pathetic rehashes, and should have hairpieces, but beside the fact that they replace slots that could've been given to other figures, I'm not that disappointed. We'll get a ton of more Orcs/Goblins in TABA sets.

-They're milking the Gimli mold for all its worth, but it's alright I suppose.

-Umbar corsair looks great.

-Oathbreakers are spectacular and a great quirky addition to the lineup.

-Aragorn Elessar looks great, right out of the movie.

-Elrond and Arwen deftly use a new hairpiece, and it's a smart move. Can be reused for Thranduil in TDOS sets. Elrond looks great, and I won't mind having him despite already owning the superior gamestop version.

-Saruman and Gandalf the White look great, Saruman especially. Can't wait to recreate The Voice Of Saruman scene if the Isengard set becomes a reality.

-The absolute standout figure of the wave, and easily the best yet made in the line is the exquisite Mouth of Sauron. Without a doubt one of the grimmest, most austere minifigs Lego has ever produced, they captured his helmet and evil grin perfectly, as well as the dark aesthetic of the Black Numenorean robes. If I really, really had to choose between him and a Witchking figure, I'd take the Mouth in a second - his design is wonderfully unique and despite my irritation at the lack of Gondorians, I am extremely proud of Lego for prioritizing such an obscure, dark character to be produced.

All of the Mini figures look great, but my favourite fig by far is the mouth of sauron, that headpiece is to die for :classic:

If it's UCS style, I doubt it. Especially since Saruman and Gandalf can be obtained cheaply. I'd prefer them to maximize the size and any interior detailing, and throw in some useful minifigs like Grima and armored Lurtz.

Still sounds quite cheap (perhaps a bit too cheap to be true). I would imagine it being at least as expensive as the Haunted Mansion. Especially for that size...

She is, only the color is correct for the departure costume, the departure dress has like a red shash thing hanging down from the middle of her belt.

This is the riding gown design art from the movie http://2.bp.blogspot...wen_costume.jpg

I think I'm jumping on the oh-gawd-those-orcs-are-lame bandwagon, all four of them have the same torso from Orc Forge and one of the Black Gate ones actually has an Uruk-Hai helmet. That has to be a stand-in, please?

Me too. I was fine with the re-used Orcs up until I saw Lego threw a Uruk-hai helm on them. The loin cloth legs and same toros/hair/head were fine and even the same Orc Forge orc with a chest plate on this wave in two sets.. but the same helm too? Really Lego, REALLY? We obviously are going to be getting TONS of Mordor Orcs so they could at least give us 2+ face prints and 2-3 toroso prints to work with? I don't care if Lego reuse them several times but reusing the same 1 head print and 1 torso already in just two waves and three sets (4 if you count the Warg Attacks where only the legs are slightly different) just reeks of laziness. I would love to see another flesh colored head with a different one sided face print, a hair/ear pieces to match the new skin tone, a totally different torso or two, and a unique helm. That would only be 5-6 new pieces yet give us soooo many more possible combinations.

Is the ship pic from the set, or from the game? There are some weird details in it? Like the blank white bat winged ghosts and the orcs with hair pieces? (Orcish hair club for men?)

Those just look like the placeholders. The white bat winged ghost is suppose to represent a normal undead soldier I imagine, while the grayish one with the golden crown is the king. I am not sure why the orc is a Moria Orc and not a Mordor one though.. unless that's suppose to be a placeholder for the Corsair?

I'm surprised they didn't replace the two orcs for two Pirates of Umbar. It would have made the set more appeal.

For sure, and it would of made a lot more sense. Judging by the picture though, it looks like Lego probably wanted to cover as many scenes as possible with one playset so they have the ghosts, pirate, and orcs so we can reenact that entire chunk of the movie rather than just the ghosts attacking the pirates or just the ghost coming off the ship and surprising the orcs. Though, even if that is the case, 1 orc would of sufficed instead of only 1 Corsair I would think. To me it just seems so silly it's an entire pirate ship yet we only get a single Corsair. That and we already have plenty of orc options after just 2 waves and will probably never see another Corsair in any set so a few more would of made this set infinitely more appealing. Lego probably just figured the 3 unique undead minifigs and 1 Corsair were more than enough to entice people into buying the set. I mean heck, Legolas and Gimli appear exactly like they do in the first LotR wave, and Aragorn looks similair (the same)?

hopefully that set will come with 6-10 figures at the price

At $150 I would hope more like 12-13 minifigures, but that's getting up there so who knows. I just think it would be lame to have the same amount of minifigures in a $150 set as they do in a $90-100 one (what the Corsair Ship set should translate to if the rumored euro prices are true) from the same theme... Btw, have we heard if the Orthanc/Isenguard set will have ANYTHING to do with the Ent's attacking and such? At this point I don't really want 2-3 more orcs, but I would LOVE an official Treebeard build!

Still sounds quite cheap (perhaps a bit too cheap to be true). I would imagine it being at least as expensive as the Haunted Mansion. Especially for that size...

It's a fairly thin tower and they might only do the outside so $150 seems plausible. Since it's such a small wave I wouldn't mind it being a larger set, but I am really hoping they do Minas tirth as a ~$200 set later on still and do that beatiful city justice. I also hope we get some Ents with Orthanc...
