JeagerEX Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 (edited) Hello, This is a kind of rumor and prediction. Don't you know that there will be re-release all the previous Collectible Minifigures series from 1 to 5? Because some of the people who missed the previous series are sad. Anyways, some of the stores like Wal-Mart and Toys R US are gonna re-release Series 1 to 5 along with the new series in 2013 or another next year. Now I hope it will be true............ TheDesuComplex Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Alas, I doubt that this rumor is true. They might reissue a single figure here or there- but the point in them being Collectible Minifigures is to create a tight market. Re-releasing the oldest and rarest series is a completely illogical move from this standpoint. Is there any basis- such as employees receiving word of shipments or info leaked among the W2013 pictures- as to this prediction? Is so, I'd be glad to hear it.
escortmad79 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 There could be more minifig accessories packs like Beach set & Rock Band with slight differences or different variations in future series (such as the robot & cheerleader) but doubt they'll re release individual figures

Re-releasing the oldest and rarest series is a completely illogical move from this standpoint. It's not at all illogical. TLG could make a lot of money by re-releasing the earlier, less widely-available, series'. Is there any basis- such as employees receiving word of shipments or info leaked among the W2013 pictures- as to this prediction? Is so, I'd be glad to hear it. It doesn't seem to have any basis, though. It seems like JaegerEX is drumming up a rumor in the hopes that it will become true, somehow.
Itaria No Shintaku Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Actually this already happened in Italy: during Series 5, Series 1 was re-ordered by some shops and had a brief second life.
JeagerEX Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 (edited) I think TRU would be re-ordering Series 1 to 5 minifigures, since I just emailed a suggestion to them. Actually this already happened in Italy: during Series 5, Series 1 was re-ordered by some shops and had a brief second life. It also happens to my local TRU, during series 8, series 7 was re-ordered. I hope they will reordering series 1 to 5. Edited November 3, 2012 by JeagerEX

Do you have any basis at all for this speculation, or is this just your wish?
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 (edited) Didn't Lego explicitly state that Series wouldn't be re released? Edited November 3, 2012 by johnnyvgoode
Vindicare Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 (edited) Do you have any basis at all for this speculation, or is this just your wish? Yeah, this sounds like wishful thinking to me. I would take advantage of it if they did, I missed quite a few with 3-5. Edited November 3, 2012 by Legocrazy81
Noahs-Dad Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Where I live (Scotland, UK) you occassionaly get a random Series appear for a few months in any random shop. Recently my ASDA store has been stocking series 5 for a while. A while back series 4 was in a Bargain BM Store which is like a cheap discount outlet type of shop. I'd be really surprised if anything other than series 5 onwards was brought back for retail sale at this stage.
Aanchir Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 I don't see any reason TLG would want to do this. What benefit would there be to releasing a product that some of their dedicated customers already have rather than releasing brand-new products that none of their customers have? Sure, there's a lot of demand for the older series within a small segment of the already small "collectors' market," but the only reason for that high demand is the scarcity of the minifigures-- and minifigures that have never existed before are by definition scarcer than those that have.
The Brick Rat Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 I think TRU would be re-ordering Series 1 to 5 minifigures, since I just emailed a suggestion to them. If this actually happens then I beg of you to email a suggestion to TRU that they drop their normal Lego prices to MSRP and when they have a sale on ALL Lego they don't exclude half a dozen themes in the fine print.
MonkeyCrumb Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 This thread needs to be closed. It's based on pure speculation.

It happens in Italy? I hope it will happens in US or any country along with the release of Series 9 or maybe they should be re-release in 2013 because of the celebration the 35th Anniversary of the LEGO Minifigure.
Onatu Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 I think TRU would be re-ordering Series 1 to 5 minifigures, since I just emailed a suggestion to them. Just because you emailed a suggestion to them doesn't mean they'll end up doing it. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but it doesn't really make a lot of sense for Lego to re-release the older series seeing as many people have already had access to them and there's not a lot of use selling them once again.
JeagerEX Posted November 4, 2012 Author Posted November 4, 2012 Since I just called and emailed a suggestion to the LEGO group about re releasing the previous series along with the new series. Btw, If that thing does not happen, I'll go to Downtown LA Toy District (usually they selling previous minifigure series there that is made by LEGO, not clone brands or order it online like ebay and bricklink.
escortmad79 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Hmm, I might try & email TLG & ask them to get Cafe Corner & Monorail sets reintroduced Edited November 5, 2012 by escortmad79
Blacktron Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 This topic should be closed, because it could confuse people. It's not confirmed news or even rumors, it's just wishful thinking. Hey, I could start a thread. "Masters of the universe Line from Lego in 2013! New series will start together with the new Teenage Mutant ninja turtles line."

Lightning Dragon Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 (edited) This is your speculation, right??? The title kind of confused me a bit. I wouldn't care whether or not if the previous series were re-released, since I have all the minifigures I want, but I guess others could really want them to come back. Edited November 6, 2012 by Lightning Dragon
badbob001 Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 If they decide to re-release the older sets, they should be as close to the originals as possible. I don't mind allowing people to buy sets that they missed, but don't try to double-dip current owners by releasing modified special editions.
legomaniac83 Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Lego Legends didn't work so why would this? Pure speculation concieved out of mid-air.
Rez Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Haha, I got a good laugh out of this thread. Good show, everyone.
