Styrbjorn Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 That oak is just fantastic! Keep it up! Quote
Erynlasgalen Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Wow, you can instantly tell this is an Avalonian entry, absolutely love it! The details and activity are wonderful, I really get the sense that they just set up camp and are going along with their lives now. My favorite detail has to be the chicken coop, it always amazes me how you can give builders the same materials and they come up with two completely differrent things. I actually have the same concept in my MOC, but I added a few more rungs and made a ladder instead. Top notch work on this one Quote
MikeyB Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 again thanks for all positive comments. I am sure some of you may have heard me say this in the past but I really enjoy building the little details. In fact most by builds start with a small detail build or what they call at Lego Headquarters a "springboard piece" as I read in a Lego Magazine. I then typically try to buld around those ideas or mini builds to build up the bigger scene. This build started with the statue head and the tree (albeit not that small) and then I built the watch tower and worked on a tent design. The chicken coop was sort of a last minute addition but I like it. Thanks again Quote
Rogue Angel Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Great build Mikey! I like all the activity in this build, and I especially like the chicken coop, the shoeing of the horse, and the sharpening of the knife (or maybe it's wood carving). I also like how Rolic is bringing more villagers in - great vignette within a build. Excellent work as always! Quote
