Hi Udo. Welcome to Train Tech and to EB. I have merged your topic here as this is the place to introduce yourself to other members.

Looks like you've done some interesting electical tinkering. I really admire your old DB train. I've always been a fan of the big black & red German steam locomotives. Those were some impressive trains! (in real life and in LEGO).

I hope you enjoy the forum and I look forward to seeing some of your other custom work. :classic: Frohe Weihnachten.

So I guess I should get around to introducing myself.......

I'm Ed, from a small town named Young, in Australia. I am 28 years old, and played with LEGO a lot as a child, then didn't touch it until after I got married. In the past three years I have bought probably about $4000 of LEGO, mostly City and Train themes, but bits and pieces of other stuff too.

I was an exhibitor at the first BrickExpo in Canberra, and also at the second, and I hope to exhibit next year too. Currently I'm working on a couple of trains from NSW where I live, aiming for a little more realism in my layout :classic: We'll see what happens though, as I have a three week old daughter who isn't yet receiving many LEGO gifts......

Some of the trains I have been working on are an XPT and a 44 class locomotive, I have a few others up my sleeves as well (or at least in LDD), plus a monorail I have been working on for a while.

So that's me :classic:

Hello everyone. My name is Andrew, I'm 26 and I live in Poland, near Warsaw.

I've just registered on EB and immediately started to search for Trains subforum:)

As a kid, thanks to my parents, I managed to gather pretty large collection of late 80's-mid 90's classic town sets, but I've never had any trains...too expensive and beyond my reach at that time.

Half year ago, after about 10 years break I got interested in Lego again, mainly 9V sets, which I had seen in catalogues many years ago.

So far I've managed to get 10001 Metroliner, 4563 Load N' Haul Railroad, 4564 Freight Rail Runner, 4536 Blue Hopper Car, 2 sets of 4549 Container Double Stack, 2 sets of 4559 Cargo Railway, 2 sets of 4565 Freight and Crane Railway and some additional tracks.

I'm hoping to get a 4557/10002 Club Car soon and I'm afraid that then I will have a few months break in getting additional sets because of a budget limits:)

Best regards,

Andrew

Hi Andrew. Welcome to Train Tech. I'm glad you found our LEGO Train community. You were certainly lucky to find some of those great 9V sets. One day I'm going to break out my Metroliner but with all the new stuff, it's one more train for me to place on a shelf. I disassembled by table town so I've got no track at present - just a few shelves. I hope you enjoy our forum and please feel free to start a topic at any time. Welcome and Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone,

I never reached the LEGO trains as a kid because they were too expensive but now I have a little kid so I'm taking him along for a ride. So far I've been able to get a Santa Fe, the club car and Harry Potter. The Maersk and the Emerald are riding with Santa to reach me in a couple of days :)

Santa is also getting the little one the cargo track set so we can roll some of this stock on it.

After I build these sets and learn how the LEGO train system works I hope to create some of my own. I also got a Mindstorms that I want to integrate into it.

Welcome jcnoslegos. You should feel fortunate to have purchased a Santa Fe Super Chief. Many missed out on one of the best LEGO Train sets offered (IMP). Sounds like you've got a nice collection started.

I hope you enjoy our LEGO Train community. Merry Christmas!

Hi to all, fellow Lego Train Fans

I'm Commander P5 and i used to consult all of the wonderful work that everyone

posted on these page.

I'm a 27 years old Italian AFOL and i follow my passion for Lego, expecially

technic and train models, from almost 20 years: i will never abandon my sweet

bricks ;)

My first train model was the 7715 Push Along Train (that i rebuilt almost entirely

after 21 years of storage the other month XD), and now i'm determined to increase

my collection.

This Christmas i bhought 2 Toy Story 3 Western Chase sets, combining them to

build a bigger and detailed train to put under my Christmas tree: you could see

it on this post (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=63853).

Thank you all and Merry Christmas

p.s. sorry for my clumsy english

Hope you enjoy the forum and EB.

EDIT: oops, I almost forgot, now you need to replace that Star Destroyer with a Train. We won't tell KimT.

Greetings from Down Under.

20 years ago I bought 12V trains for my kids and the lego habit grew from there.

I enjoy building my own trains to entertain the children at model train shows in SE Queensland.

For the past few years, I have been a member of the Brisbane Lego Train Group [ BLTG ].

Hi everyone! I figure it's finally time to introduce myself on the registry. My name is Rob but I picked wondermonkey for a username. It actually was a name I was called at my old job. I hated it at first and then became used to it. Love the site and really enjoy looking at the pictures with my wife. She likes town and castle stuff but I love the trains.

Back in the mid 1980's I got 7722 for Christmas and probably wore the wheels of that train. My parents still have it somewhere in their house.

About a year ago we were walking through the Ala Moana mall in Honolulu when my wife actually begged me to go into the Lego store. I really wasn't interested at the time and put it off on several mall trips. Eventually I caved and we went in. Almost immediately I saw the Emerald Night and it was on for me. I love it, it's a very fun hobby. Now I have the Emerald Night, Maersk Train, the Toy Story train and several MOCs. When I bought the EN, the Lego store was clearancing out a lot of train tracks (not 9V obviously). I bought all I could afford. I read articles all over the internet about putting copper foil tape over the rails and now I have a fairly good size 9V track collection. It doesn't work quite as good as the real track but I am replacing it slowly and it's kinda fun working on the tracks.

Well thanks for reading, see ya out there.

Welcome Brickie..... . Congratulations on your recent LEGO Train tags.

Thanks for the welcome and the tag.

I hope Santa left you lego in your stocking.

After the great disappointment of 9v trains being discontinued I sold my complete train collection, all my SF's and BNSF's amongst others and actually everything Lego, but soon again got hooked again on Technic when I discovered 8285 towtruck.

Although I have had an EN on my shelf for a year or so I have only just started again collecting trains again, waiting for the local boxing day sales to pick up the two current PF sets, (3677 not yet available in NZ), and ordering a couple of Maersks and a 10020 SF from Bricklink along with a few extra wagons and tracks, and parts to build another 10 or so wagons, so my collection is going to grow again.

Hi Bricktrain. I'm not sure I could have parted with any LEGO (esp. the Super Chief - one of my personal favorite engines). The good thing is your collecting once again - and some great trains as well). Enjoy the forum and Happy New Year.

Hello my name is Wiebe, I am 32 years old and I from the Netherlands. I restarted my lego hobby this year. My name is monorailrulez because it simply does.

When I was 7 years old I got for my birthday the 7735 freight train. I have sold most of my 12 volt rails and strated with RC trains. Currently I am building a new city of Brickdam. Hopefully I can provide pictures soon!

Alright, well, after a year of mostly lurking on this forum, I should introduce myself as a latecomer to the train fanaticism. In the 80s/90s I always wanted a lego train set, but you dad collected Lionel, so we never got one. This year however, I got into it and picked up Emerald Night (during the infamous black friday rush), a pair of Maersk engines, and copies of both cargo trains on the market right now. Currently working on my first Train MOC, but it may be some time before I post it. :)

Happy 2012!

Hi Wiebe. I'm glad to see that you took a moment to introduce yourself to our LEGO Train Community. We're glad to have you join us. I never had the opportunity to get into 12V as they weren't available here in the US. How I wish I had a few sets. I'm looking forward to seeing your LEGO City of Brickdam. Hopefully you'll have some track around that city. In any case, welcome!

Dhivael: sounds like you're off to a great start (and thanks to that Black Friday). I never had a Lionel train as a kid, but I did have some German HO-scale trains. I only have one remaining engine from the collection. They were very good quality back in the day. Hope you enjoy the forum and share a picture of your MOC once you complete.

Happy New Year guys!

Hello all,

I thought it time I introduce myself. I've been lurking though occasionally posting, for well over a year. I played with Lego for many, many hours as a child. The Futron Monorail was one of my most prized possessions for which I bought several of the track expansion tracks which gave me many options. I spent over 15 years in my Dark Ages but began to emerge when I had two nephews for whom I bought every Thomas Duplo set. They are a little older now but the love of Lego has been firmly entrenched in them. A few years ago my wife saved up and bought me the Town Plan for Christmas. Spending much of the next two days putting it together firmly removed me from my Dark Ages. I held back from getting into Lego trains, mainly due to space and cost but I bit the bullet and bought 2 Emerald Nights. I got two b/c they were on sale & I wanted the extra passenger wagon and the extra parts to modify the locomotive. I bought some track off Bricklink and set it up when the kitchen table is clear. I'm working on some train MOCs which I hope to share in the future.

Hello, long time lurker. I grew up a lego fan and got out of it for many years. My son is now 6 and we've begun building mostly star wars legos together. I have been into O gauge trains my entire life, and recently taken my layout down and begun building a lego layout to enjoy with my kids. The kids have really enjoyed it since they can handle the trains much more than the O gauge stuff. I built a 10.5'x9.5' L shaped layout and we're having a blast with it.

Hi Deeks - the Town Plan is certainly a fantastic set (what a great Christmas present - and a nostalgic one at that). I never had a monorail set, although the City one always interested me. In fact, I think it's one of thost "most desired sets by many". I'll have to take a look at the Futuron set - I forgot what it looks like. Sounds like you've got some nice LEGO train interest going. I'm glad to hear you were able to obtain two Emerald Nights. It's one of my personal favororites. Welcome and enjoy our train community.

Hello Eness. It's nice to hear that you made the switch from O gauge trains. Now your children can enjoy building and re-building LEGO trains, and there's the whole City aspect as well. Sounds like you have a pretty large layout. Mine has always been limited to a small table in my computer room due to space constraints. In any case, I hope you have many years of fun with your children and LEGO Trains. Enoy the forum!

Hello,

With my purchase of the Metroliner, Club Car and 9V Speed Regulator for Christmas. I have joined the LEGO Train bandwagon. :D I got the whole lot for £160 inc postage which I thought I was a good deal!
