Another beautiful set of minifigs, all of which are must haves. Although I'm surprised that nobody has pointed out how much the Forest Maiden's hair looks like Leia's on Endor from Return of the Jedi (when she has it down). Surely a sign of an Ewok village playset at some point in the future?

I hope so, although its a shame the piece is made of rubber and not plastic.

No time today to read all the posts in this thread, but wanted to say that they have Series 9 at the Lego Store in Raleigh. They arrived this morning, and I grabbed 20 at random before rushing off. Ended up with 8 differrent ones; still need to find the ladies with red and green skirts, caesar and the bartender. My favorites are the mermaid and actress of the females and the judge of the males. Wish there were more females in the series because I build mostly with women. Ugh.

In case you need a present for a 1.5 to 101 year old.... I also picked up a couple of lovely Duplo sets, 10554 and 10561, toddler starter sets priced at 15USD and 20USD. And a free box to fill in the New Year. Cheers, cheers, cheers!

I managed to spend an hour feeling CMS packages and found the other females finally. My favorite is the fortune teller. The mermaid and the actress/starlet place second. Not that crazy about the others, but they always give us parts for building other figures. I do wish that there were more individual females figures and that they would put more females in each case.

This is an excellent series, despite the lack of real armybuilders. Scored multiples of most things, except for skipping Roller Derpy Gurl and the Alien goon. The Judge is superb.

Yay! Just got my first 6. Some of my favorites out of any series so far.

For Star Wars fans, it strikes me that with his distinctive helmet, flaired shoulders, knee pads and rocket backpack, the "Battle Mech" makes quite an acceptable SW:TOR era Bounty Hunter. His armor would not look out of place in that game. I just wish it was more red than orange.

Personally I think this is one of the best CMF series yet in terms of the actual minifigures (6 is my favourite).

HOWEVER, the new fig distribution is rubbish, I haven't been able to find a single forest maiden and as much as I love the cyclops and battle mech, i'm beginning to get rather sick of finding them.

How can you not view Mr. ChickyLicky as an Army builder? I can't think of anything that would liven up any MOC more than an army of chicken suit guys marching though it. Just think about it. Helms Deep, with ChHICKENS! The only downside is they can't hold weapons.

To be honest, I don't see all the hype over this Chicken Suit guy minifigure, he is probably my least favorite of the entire series. But, I do think that this is my favorite series of them all, a great improvement from series 8. I liked Series 1, but thought Series 2 and 3 were more of a step down. then, series 4 came out, and it was probably my new favorite. After series 5, I thought the overall series wasn't as strong, but there were figures from that series that are some of my overall favorites. Series 6 was strong, as was 7, but I thought Series 8 was a bit weaker. Overall, I think Series 9 is the strongest series as a group, but I think that there are some figures that could have been executed better. Thanks for the review, WhiteFang!

Series 9 is a mixed bag for me. I love a lot of the figs like the fortune teller, waiter, judge, Hollywood starlet, and so on, but one of the fan favorites (The chicken suit) isn't one of my top picks. Maybe it's because of his wings/arms? I do like his expression and the chicken hat itself, however.

That said, this is my second favorite series out thus far (7 is still #1. So many useful figs). 6 is still a great series, but it dropped to 3rd place because of this one.

I want Mr.Good and Evil

I have Two of him, and I like to think of him as Victorian Two Face :)

Got 5 of these today, but my feeling is rubbish! I got two judges(which I thought was the Alien) 2 Cyclops (which I only thought I had one of but wanted anyway) and the Mech Guy.

Since my local stores doesn't have any stock yet, I ordered some of the figs online instead.

Btw, before they have in stock at my local stores some of my S9 minifigs that I ordered online will arrive at my home.

Love them! This one ranks at the third best series in my opinion (6 is just EPIC!)

Not too excited about the distribution ratio... Why can't they just make 4 of each and have a box of 64?

I couldn't agree more with that sentiment... I know some are army builders, but I also think a lot of kids want a decent random distribution and most people would just like a complete set.

The distribution hurts alittle, because I would like more of the Fortune Teller and Forest Maiden, but I am happy with the amount of Heroic Knights and Cyclops. Overall, I think it's a much more solid set then I originally thought it would be.

Agreed; while I can live without extras of a couple of the figures, I think the forest maiden will be one I need more of. Not a lot, but definitely more. I have resorted to just getting a case (and haven't received it yet, so I'm assuming the distribution is what White Fang posted); my kids get first picks, so I often end up not even getting a complete set for myself, so it's rather annoying.

As far as voting goes, while I did vote this as the best series so far, I have to note that it's only because there's so many complementary figures that go with previous series, otherwise I might not like it so much. I've not been keeping up with EB lately - in fact, I will sell off a huge chunk of my LEGO collection soon, but will continue getting CMFs and actually, after seeing the review, thought I probably should order a second case.

I like the fortune tellers torso and skirt, but am I alone in wishing the head piece didn't have the cold disks painted on it? That would be such a wonderfully useful piece without those.

Finally my CMF Series 9 is already arrived at my home. And there's a mistake the other one supposed to be a Roller Derby Girl, but they accidentally gave me a Plumber.

Now there's another bad luck when I ordered them online. They like giving a wrong item instead of a correct, but I'll go to the stores at find that Roller Derby Girl soon.

That chicken suit guy on that photo is great. I want one.

By the way does someone have more photos of the knight with different helmet color like black or red?, just to know how it looks like.

I bought 4 forest maidens today here in Germany. Now that I have seen them for real, the following comes to my mind:

The shield is the ultimate shield. It's $%&§ing awesome. Now there are three awesome dark green shields available which is wonderful for an elf army builder.

The hairpiece is as a I suspected: Very special and not completely beautiful. I can imagine one special character with such a hairpiece, but not a whole regiment.

Torso and skirt are very good. The maiden does not suffer from transparent yellow printing as much as the dark Kingdoms female torso.

A standard problem is once more the gap in print between torso and skirt. This way there is a gap in one of her beltstraps.

I do not really care for the longbows because I have about 90 now. I wish there was an even bigger kind of bow with exchangable arrows.
