Sir von Lego Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Hi @ all, soon, very soon, there will be the Lego Fanwelt 2012 in Cologne, Germany. I presented to you some months ago a sneak peek from my layout for this year: Boonta Eve Classic (Podrace from Episode 1). Today I want to show you two of my new podracers (what sense makes an arena without "modern formula 1 cars?). I tried to build them as sleek and "round" as they are in the film, and I think it works well from what I can do with Lego bricks:: Gasganos podracer: Second image: Aldar Beedos Podracer: So what do you think about them? I wait for comments..(-; greetings Hendrik Quote
iPodwithnomusic Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 (edited) Gasganos' is absolutely beautiful! Well done. Aldar beedos looks very good as well, however, the red motor things look a bit too long (at least compared to the picture at wookieepedia) Edited November 17, 2012 by iPodwithnomusic Quote
Lobot Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Excellent work Sir von Lego I've been looking forward to seeing this all finished, it must have cost you a fortune to make!! Do you have any idea of how many bricks you've used for the entire project? Quote
Sir von Lego Posted November 17, 2012 Author Posted November 17, 2012 Hmm, I don't know for sure. The roof of The Big tower alone has around 6.000 Parts. I think the whole project will have about 150.000 - 200.000 Parts. I collected several years for these bricks...(-; Quote
Empire911 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Very nice pod's! Nice details. Good work. Quote
Artizan Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 both racers are great but Gasgano's is surely my favourite. Quote
jamie75 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Are you planning on making all 18 Podracers? That would be awesome. The two you did do, are really great. I love how you make Gasgano's engines. But, they both would look good next to the new Anakin's and Sebulba's Podracers. Only 14 more to go. Jamie Quote
Sir von Lego Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Hi, at The Moment, 10 Podracer are finished. 8 still to build, this will Take more Time...(-; Most of The podracers are in a difficult shape, so it will be difficult to build accurately with Lego bricks. Quote
DFOL Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Nice job on these podracers Sir von Lego! Gasgano's podracer in particular stood out to me, the detailing is just outstanding! It's going to be one awesome display at the LEGO Fanwelt convention. Quote
jamie75 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 (edited) This is a project I have wanted to do for some time, but, time and money have prevented it. I have some build on my computer in LDD. Not the arena, just the pod racers. I can't wait to see the finished model. Are using the new Anakin and Sebulba set or did you make your own models for these 2? Thanks for the reply and good luck, Jamie Edited November 20, 2012 by jamie75 Quote
