My God, what the heck is going on here? I mean, a rerun was to be expected, but we have to wait a week for a new episode? Wow.

That is actually really surprising! When Ninjago Season 1 aired on Cartoon Network, it premiered the first two episodes back-to-back as a preview in December. Then nearly a month and a half later, they re-ran the first episode from the preview (Rise of the Snakes) as the opener for the initial season. The second episode, the same one from the second half of the December premier, a week later. Not to mention that the first five episodes of the season were leaked onto YouTube nearly 2 months before the official premiere, meaning that those of us who had seen the leaks had to wait more than a month for a new episode.

By re-running the three episode of Chima that have already aired back-to-back, the audience is then able to jump right into a new episode just after the first week. To put it simply, it could be much, much worse.

It ends 2015.

Keep in mind that this is just a projected forecast, however, not a set-in-stone gameplan. Things can change. BIONICLE was originally going to have movies in 2009, 2010, and 2011, with 2011 being the final year for the theme. However, poor set and media sales in 2009, and a general desire among the set design team to move onto something new, led to the theme ending with a small wave of sets in 2010.

LEGO is sometimes ambitious with their new themes, but generally they try to plan things out so that if sales DON'T meet expectations, they can shorten the theme's lifespan without too much of a loss. Personally, I think Legends of Chima has been more than successful enough so far to continue in 2014 and maybe in 2015 if its sales continue at this level. But the scale of the theme may be brought down a notch in future waves. Legends of Chima started big, as is traditional with "big bang" themes, but just look at LEGO Atlantis as an example of a "big bang" theme that started big and continued on a much smaller scale in its second year.

I'm going to say it again. If we ignore what kind of sales Lego intends for Chima, Chima is selling like a normal action theme if the theme had no media besides a website and Club Magazine pages. I think we are forgetting that there were action themes before Ninjago that sold at today's rate of Chima sales and still had massive success. In the past 10 years we have had Adventurers (Orient Expedition to be specific), Alpha Team (Mission Deep Freeze), Knights Kingdom II, Exo-Force, Mars Mission, Agents, Castle (Fantasy Era), Space Police III, Power Miners, and Atlantis that lasted, or were a part of a theme that lasted for at least two years each, and were action story based and/or action themes that did not rely on extra media besides some mini-movies. Even then, those mini-movies still didn't help sales (Atlantis).

Did Atlantis' mini movie not help sales? The first year of Atlantis (when the mini-movie debuted) was a massive success. Even if the special didn't result in a full series like Ninjago's did, I don't think it's right to assume it had no effect.

I've seen little evidence that Chima, on the whole, is struggling. The only real, non-anecdotal evidence has been the free-with-purchase Speedorz, which could just as easily be a marketing push (whether that results in greater sales on the other Speedorz is yet to be determined). Besides, even if the Speedorz are selling less than expected, it's entirely possible that the theme could continue without them (just like 2013 Ninjago featured a wave without spinners).

Make no mistake, I've seen little evidence that Chima has enjoyed the same success as Ninjago. But Ninjago was Lego's most successful product launch ever. Meanwhile, Chima's TV series still hasn't started airing regularly. I think even if Chima underperforms compared to Lego's expectations, that's little reason to consider the theme down and out.

Oh no, we have to wait a WHOLE WEEK? How terrible! I have to wait almost THREE months for the next TMNT episode. Deal with it.

I wasn't interested in Chima until I got the promo sets. My two girls loved them, love the episodes so far, and the rest is history. I was the one, not them, who wanted to go to the local TRU the past five days to see if they had Gorzon's mech. They finally did today and I was thrilled!

On today's episode...

This had to be my least favorite. Again, the whole episode was filler, but this one was really rushed. Worst part was that stupid "now I'm awake and every problem is solved" part. :hmpf:

"now I'm awake and every problem is solved" part. :hmpf:

I know, that felt like a lazy copout. There were also so many times where Laval and Eris had their weapons drawn but did nothing when they were being captured by the crocodiles . I also didn't like this episode (I watched it on the Internet by the way, I don't have Cartoon Network) I hope the next couple of episodes set up a bigger plot instead of setting a complication up and solving it in the same episode

Allright, here's my thoughts on the episode as seen on TV, and not on a tiny computer screen.

Legend beast: I saw it last night, so i can't remember where, but during Lagravis' travels, the shadow of the Eagle legend beast is visible.

Beavers: Hilarious, add a pinch of cuteness and you have a successful tribe, in fact, I'm betting this tribe will be neutral.

Crocs: Improved in an odd way, They seem a little more, I don't know, they seem to have changed somehow.

Cragger: He seems to be more like a brother with Crooler, something that extends to both of them. Seems that the plant has a better effect, he only needed one spray for the whole episode.

Crooler: Very interesting, not much change, other than being more sister like, and two interesting facts. One, she sounded like Eris when she fell. (Voice actor fail!) and that whip, against Eris... seems similar.

Eris: I skipped the Eagle tribe, because they just don't appear, but anyway, more romance with laval (sunset, road trip in general.) This time, she proved she has a couple tricks up her wings, (Board attack, use of technobabble, you do have to fight Eris with your mind, and use of beaver mentality.) Along with actual use of her wings, more than once.

Lions: overall, less talk of the rules, and far more interesting.

Lagravis: Can still kick butt when needed, and his reaction to his tank, would've been puny compared to my reaction if I had owned the tank.

Laval: Almost subjected Eris and himself to death by irony at two separate times. The first would've been death by falling for Eris, and drowning in Chi for himself.

Rhinos: I don't really have many words, except that they seem to have ADD, among other things.

Wolves: Cannot use Speedorz, at all.

On to interesting things.

The climatic battle at the dam was actually exciting, maybe I like one-on-one climatic battles, but this put episode two's climax to shame.

The pacing wasn't as good as three, which was acceptable., and Eris can teleport, When Laval woke up, she literally came out of nowhere.

The music was awesome, and that's all I have to say about that.

Haven't heard or seen anything from the SDCC panel besides this.

Looks like our Peacock friend, Dom de la Woosh from the Laval's Journey Video game, will be debuting sometime in the future, not to mention some red and black, (armored?) bird sort of character.

That new character doesn't look much like a bird, maybe the black thing I saw was a wing, but I thinks its a tail.

Whats more interesting is that when the announcer syas "And their Allies" If you pause, there is some wierd flying machine, mostly gray, some purple ?Red? I think?

Its clearly not an Intereceptor, as the body structure and colorations are complelty different, and there multiples, ruling out the idea of a rougue Eagle or Raven.

Episode 7 is called 'Hundred Year Moon' ! I don't have any other info.

Anyway, 'Market Day', which is a new episode, airs tonight. I found the first half on Youtube already, but it's Korean or something:

Tonight's episode was good, much better in English.

It's nice to see they've placed some of the actual Speedorz sets and some of the power-ups (saw Laval using Hypazoom) into the show.

Cragger was a bit of a -meh- in this one. 'Attack him and make him cry like a baby' really didn't seem all that "king"-ish to me.

I also was shocked to see Equila. He is described as a Speedorz joust announcer or something, and that was cool. Don't remember him having eyelashes, though...

Oh, and Beaver Speedorz look weird. I'll probably post a video review up tonight.

EDIT: ohey, 1500th post. yay

Alright, that was interesting. SPOILERS

I found the market being an interesting spot. The Rhinos continue with their fail/troll logic, and skinnet has a slightly larger role than before. I wasn't so impressed with the first half, and it seemed really rushed, but it was still worth seeing. The second features the first entrance of Equila, who's orange is really part of those goggles. Overall, the race was nice, with a nice pace. (For racing, at least.) All topped with the appearance of normal Speedorz sets. the multiple leads didn't really do much to mask the fact of Worriz's certain victory, however, Eris' lead gave me the hope of a different victor.

Overall, the episode wasn't THAT good, but the race made up for most of the flaws.

No new episode after next week (Hundred Year Moon). It's a repeat of The Joy Ride.

Tonight is Attack on Eagle Spire!

Wait so next week is the finale?
