Meanwhile, Tesni takes a closer look at the machine, being especially intrigued by the topaz attached to it. Upon touching the gem, she quickly pulls her hand back, having suffered 10 lightning-elemental damage. Electrical power is surging from the gem, so the machine is operating. It seems to be missing something, though. Namyrra takes a gander on the parchment lying on the table. She recognizes the pictures on it as the machine in the room, but she does not understand the writing. Jun peeks over her shoulder. "Let me have a look.... Uh, this text is hard to read. It has so many terms I do not know, but it seems to be some sort of manual to that machine. It says here that the power from the topaz - electricity - needs to pass through nine... amplifiers, I think?... along a single... conducting path?... in order to reach the potency needed to operate the gears that open the metal doors. Can you people make any sense of this?" Upon hearing this, Hybros takes a look at the metal tile he found from the Armoury. It seems to fit into the machine, and there are eight similar tiles on the table. The party grabs them, and all together they start to solve how to fit them all in. I know there's like a bazillion options on how they could be arranged, but I think you can use your human deduction skills to figure out the correct answer. There should only be one possible way to put them right, if you follow Jun's hints.

They fit, and the electricity starts crawling along the conducting pathway, but there are too many crossroads on it. The amount of power that reaches the other side isn't enough to turn the wheel. The power needs to run through a single line, it seems.

However, he arranges the tiles so that the pathway touches itself at certain points, making the power spread and short-circuit itself. The machine does not function still. QM Note: I apologize about the non-sensical technospeak, as I know nothing about electrical appliances. The point is that there should be a single pathway that does not cross or intertwine at any point. I'll give you more hints after your next attempt. You're getting there!
