I just gave 1989 Captain Roger/Redbeard his 100th vote - mostly because he was the first and most iconic, and also because he appeared in so many sets. But that's not to say I don't like the others. Brickbeard, the CMF captain and 2015 Redbeard all have very good torsos - better, dare I say, than the classic Redbeard (and they're very useful within colonial-era builds provided you swap the silly hooks in favor of two hands). I never really liked Ironhook but I freely admit that he certainly looks capable of being a captain. The other choices seem odd to me. The current junior's pirate is a captain? Really? I like the figure and the set he comes in but I can't accept him as a legitimate captain without official proof (and if proof exists I apologize in advance). Seriously, the poll clearly shows members' preferences and I think the classic Redbeard leads so convincingly for the reasons I mentioned. But obviously we don't all think alike and it's interesting to see how everyone else feels. As for the 2015 Redbeard, I view him as an older and better-dressed version of the original, except for the head, which looks cartoonish to me. Lawsless he may be, but the classic Redbeard is king of the Cabrickean Sea!

I voted for 1989 Redbeard, the true classic. But all of them are pretty good. And while we're at it, maybe we should add the zombie captain from collectible minifigures too?
