zephyr1934 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Ok This is the current problem. I need to go from the first wedge of the small cheese wedge boiler to the first panel on a large cheese wedge boiler. Would you guys have any idea on how to do that? Huh??? Quote
Electricsteam Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 Huh??? Ok a cheese wedge boiler like on the Thomas trains ScotNick built and the E.N. Boiler made out of cheese wedges.I am just going to build a test boiler.... Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I think its already too tall. What size wheels are you using? Quote
Electricsteam Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 I think its already too tall. What size wheels are you using? I am not really trying to go for exact but I think when I have the boiler built... If I ever find a way... I think it will even the height out a little. It uses the Medium Drivers. Its a little back heavy but I hope when I have the boiler it will even out. Quote
Electricsteam Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 I have been working on the locomotive a little more. Also I found this Dino from a year or two ago... It used 2 PF motors 2 PF Wi-Fi recivers and 2 Bat-Boxes...Its supose to be a GG1 Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 When I say too tall, I also mean the buffers. They just dont seem right for some reason. Are you working off any prototype? Quote
Electricsteam Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 When I say too tall, I also mean the buffers. They just dont seem right for some reason. Are you working off any prototype? I am not working off any prototype and ScotNick designed me a Boiler for the Locomotive! Quote
Electricsteam Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 Something I just realized that the reason the Lone Ranger Mine has the 2 gauge rails is that the Lone Ranger train can go trough the mine. Also I will have the Shunter Locomotive posted in a day or so. Quote
Electricsteam Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) I just have been idealess for building recently so I would love you guys to give me some suggestions to build from! Edited June 11, 2013 by Electricsteam Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 1 and 3. 2 just looks like a nightmare with the rods. Quote
Electricsteam Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) I have found what I will build! The Chesapeake and Ohio 2-8-4 Berkshire Locomotive and its 3 beautiful Dark Green Coaches, and don't forget the Chesapeake and Ohio majestic Yellow caboose. The Locomotive is right at my Local Science Museum of Va. They also have a pretty tram there but I'd rather go for the Locomotive. I want to make the Locomotive and its coaches as detailed as possible because I will bring it to the museum when it is finished. Some goals for it would be as detailed as possible, and it to be powered without using the dummy coach technique or using the 9v system. Edited June 17, 2013 by Electricsteam Quote
Electricsteam Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 Ok I have found a Lego locomotive using the vacuum engines, like what I used in the I built. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Ok I have found a Lego locomotive using the vacuum engines, like what I used in the I built. Wow, that's insane Quote
Electricsteam Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Found a really cool locomotive that probably would be a cousin to the Big Boy Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 What a small tender to such a large loco. Quote
Electricsteam Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 What a small tender to such a large loco. That is quite a small tender... I also was thinking if they could make a successful Triplex Locomotive the middle set of drivers would be ridgedly attached to the middle of the boiler to have little overhang as possible... and to have enough steam to power all 3 sets of drivers. Bamos Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 The Santa Fe 3000 series was not designed for main line use. They were actually yard goats used to classify whole trains and only lasted 4 years before being made into 2-10-2 engines. Bill Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Found a really cool locomotive that probably would be a cousin to the Big Boy Still that is one hell of a locomotive, I especially like the sloped back on the tender. Thank you for sharing, it is giving me ideas. Quote
Barduck Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 they made the tender that small so the loco and tender would fit on the turntables Quote
Electricsteam Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Ah HA! I have finally found it! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40209 Edited July 31, 2013 by Electricsteam Quote
JopieK Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I recently found a book: "Early American Locomotives (Trains)", Aug. 31 2000, ISBN:0486227723. Some very interesting locomotives in there, including "the General" of course, but also some other nice (and also some amazing) ones in the Electricsteam category! Quote
Electricsteam Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) I am just blown away by this! Edited August 4, 2013 by Electricsteam Quote
