Costy Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 And also, Costy, how do you pronounce Nagure's name, I asked before, but perhaps you missed the question. (Or I missed the answer)! I would pronounce it Na-gure, with the gure rhyming with sewer. I attack Ostan from the front row. Quote

Endgame Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I suddenly feel my backpack get heavier. Reaching inside momentarily to shuffle around its contents, I pull out... an ether core. I fall to my knees, slamming my fist on to the ground in sheer fury and shouting expletives. "Someone. Is. Going. To. DIE." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Guts spotted a bottle laying on the ground, the Raider spend a moment to pick it up, and saw it was a bottle of Metasimian Ale. Not his tastes, but it was rare, and more importantly expensive stuff. Quote
Costy Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 "Change of plan" I swap out my Heavy Armor for my brand new Yeti Fur Coat (Artefact) - SP:12, immunity to ice; suitable for yetis only; bodywear. "Thanks Father Grogmas" Quote
Chromeknight Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Nerwen years the clatter of boar's hooves and the clunking of the iron bells of Father Grogmas's sleigh. Oh, I had not realised it was so late in the year. Happy Grogmas's Day! Nerwen watches as a bulky present for Nagure materialises before him and smiles as he pulls out a yeti coat. Guts, predictably has found more alcohol and sorrow... turning sharply at Sorrow's shouting and profanity she speaks loudly over his ranting Calm yourself assassin, what is the matter? Quote
Endgame Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 "Either Father Grogmas, Heroica, or the Universe has forsaken me. Take your pick..." Quote
Chromeknight Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I do not understand. Clearly none of those things has happened. The universe is still here, we are Heroica and it seems you received a gift from Grogmas, even though I deem it unlikely you follow many orcish customs. What then is the problem? Are you upset with your gift, which has come to you for free? Quote
Endgame Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) "Nerwen... let me put it simply. I got an ether core. Sure, I can resell it later, but... I once got crushed by 2 or 3 tons of these. Several thousand ether cores just dropped from no where and fell on me. I am serious. And now... Father Grogmas gives me one as a gift?! Some higher being is laughing at me, I swear..." Edited January 2, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Chromeknight Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Thousands of ether cores? I do not believe it. And from no-where? Such a pile would be a huge concentration of frozen ether, it would distort power for miles around it. Not to mention it would be worth a fortune big enough to put even Guts to shame. Your story sounds like an hallucination of some sort. As for your gift, Grogmas is known for his sense of humour. But if you do not want your gift, I am sure that you would like the gold someone will give you in exchange for it. An ether core may be helpful in a future battle. Quote
Endgame Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 "I have the wounds to prove it! My ribcage became concave from the entire fiasco..." Quote
Chromeknight Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Nerwen held up her hands placatingly I did not mean to cast doubt on your pain, which is clearly real. Just expressing my incredulity at such an event. It sounds more like the ending of one of Wigglepike's bad tragedies, where rocks fall and everyone dies. In any case, you are here and your torso now appears appropriately convex so you obviously were not left to rot. Plus, there are enemies before you to hit, friends at your side and free presents in your pockets, what better way to spend Grogmas? Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) QM Note: Merry Grogmas, it seems! Remember, as per the rules, if you have been given a shiny new artifact to use, if you equip it now, as you are currently in battle, it will cost you a turn to do so. Also Scuba, you didn't specify a row for Guts's attacks yet again. Now I know you are doing it to annoy me Everyone else has no problems adding a row, and nor do I when playing as Tarn, where I always include target, row and weapon as clarification for the QM, and so no confusion can exist afterwards. So from the next round on, if not specified, I will always make Guts fight from the back row. Results of Round Two of the Prison Battle Nagure equips Yeti armour artifact Nerwen heals Sorrow - Damage (No Healing) >Sorrow vs. Pinalt - Damage (Sorrow: 8 health+ 1 SP= 9-(20/2(back row)=)10 dmg=0 health) >Maurice vs. Quarnoth - Special Damage (Slowcoach - Maurice can only act once every other round until battle is over, unless remedied) Guts vs. Pinalt (Lifestealer) - Damage/Damage (Guts: 35 health-20 dmg=15 health) Guts vs. Rex (Lifestealer) - Steal/Hit (Rex: 224 health+8 SP=232-(49*2(Encouraged)=98*2(Ice vs Beasts)=)196 dmg=36 health) Guts vs. Selfast (Lifestealer) - Shield/Special Damage (Ravage: Rex: 36 health+8 SP=44-(49*2(Encouraged)=98*2(Ice vs Beasts)=)196 dmg=0 health, 20 gold; Pinalt: 64 health+10 SP=74-(49*2(Encouraged)=98*2(Darkness)=)196 dmg=0 health, 20 gold; Quarnoth: 79-(49*2(Encouraged)=98*2(Darkness)=)196 dmg=0 health, 30 gold; Selfast: 4 health-(49*2(Encouraged)=98*2(Darkness)=)196 dmg=0 health, 20 gold. 90 gold in total) The battle doesn't start well for the heroes, with Nerwen unable to heal Sorrow, and the Assassin being KOed by Pinalt the very next second. Maurice once again suffers a special attack from his opponent. But then Guts waltzes through the ranks, and despite taking a hit from Pinalt, he dispatches the enemies with yet another flurry of well-placed hits, including 2 on the reptilian keymaster. The battle is victorious! Everyone gains a level or a proportion thereof apart from Sorrow as he was KOed at the conclusion of the battle. Looks like his bad luck doesn't just stretch to Ether Cores. Scubacarrot Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) Guts hands the Shackles of War to Nerwen and 30 gold, and gives 40 gold to Mizuki, Maurice, Sorrow and Nagure each.
