Guts proceeded to walk up the Guardsman, knock him out, and making sure he was knocked out and could not get away.

"He looked at me funny. Now can I take a look around?"

The other patrons in the kitchens flee from the scene, screaming and shouting for the Guardsmen.

Ismelda looks at Guts calmly, meat cleaver in hand.

"I don't think you should have done that to Wilford. I have no love for what the Guardsmen have become but there's no need for more violence in this city. You are not welcome here. Please leave."

"Lady. I am not here to make anybody in this city happy. I am here to find some missing people, and kill General Haroka. I am not here to harm you, but if you stand in my way, I will not hesitate to do so. Now, you are hiding an object of power in this room. Where. "

Guts quickly swallowed a Nostrum, Smelling Salts and Mead.

Watching Guts poke around was nothing new, but his random act of violence against the guardsman made her notice. The person she was speaking to ran out the door, shouting. Overhearing Gut's words to the cook, Nerwen understands what he was doing. Calling Nagure to help, she uses tables and chairs to barricade the door, sure that guardsmen would be here shortly. She wanted to delay them long enough for the party to find the amulet.

[Rumble Strike]

Both Ismelda and Hergrit stared at Guts and made no move to stop the doorway and windows being barricaded.

"You wish to kill the Dark General? But none stand up to him or his Inquisitors. Why would you even care? You are not from Miranda."

[Scubacarrot]

"No one? I don't mean to brag, but we send the one with the hammer crying."

Guts looks at the fire and the pot.

[Tachyon]

Mizuki pulls out her Sylph Shuriken and gets ready to throw at Ismelda.

"Why won't you let him take a look at the water barrel ?"

Ismelda and Hergrit stood in the desolation of their kitchen after the doorway had been barricaded.

"You stopped Floodgate? Perhaps you do have a chance against the others!" said Ismelda.

Guts can just see a plume of blue peek out from the top of the pot.

OOC: zakura, Guts did look at the water barrel. It just had water in it.

We are here to end the Dark General. Perhaps you know of those here in Miranda who can aid us? It was suggested to us that you might.

Plus, Rumble already used letters H and I for enemy names in the warehouse, so you must be either non-combatant or otherwise important NPCs...

Maurice turns to Hergrit.

"I'm terribly sorry for the mess me and my companions have caused. I'm willing to buy a package of fish out of good will. But please tell me, do you know of an amulet, looks like a big tablet probably, that is possibly in this room? We need it to continue our mission in deposing the Dark General, something that your Fishing guild should benefit greatly from."

"I've been called far worse then odd, m'lady. Trust me, what you've said about me is on the lower end of the "Insulting" scale."

As I say this, I turn to take a sip of soup when I see guys socking a guard in the jaw. I contemplate running over for a split second, then just simply walk over to the fiasco.

had to read you post several times. I thought at first you were asking if he was Austalian, from the land down under. Like Zakura, Costy and I all are.

He sounded like he was deceived rather than empowered by the darkness. Those that are, are more... unstable, violent

As she speaks, Nerwen wonders about Guts' frame of mind. Was the power weighing on him again? And what about herself? In the mines the dark star preyed on her fears, dredging memories unbidden. Orcs suffering the curse, the burning towers of Harnram, the suffocating air of the mines of the dark dwarves...

And once again she was doubting her party, a cleric of the blind god, a white furred beast, a girl playing with knives, a dead thing and violent thief. Surely she was no better, she had let Haroka go.

Nerwen shook her head, trying to clear it. Her concern visible on her normally passive features.

[Endgame]

"Hmm, I almost wish he was. We'd have justification to do a little bit more damage."

I lean over the crumpled body for a second, wondering how someone could be so easily decieved. I turn to Ismelda.

"Yes, we sent Floodgate packing. The coward. At least I faced my death 427 years ago.

Although... I couldn't avoid it..."

Ismelda and Hergrit look at each other, their deep understanding of one another contained in a nod of acceptance.

"We will assist you as best we can, friends. We know not of any objects contained here, this is a kitchen, but you are more than welcome to look if it will help rid us of the Dark General. There has been no resistance to Haroka and his Inquisitors. They seem able to cloud the mind, to draw you in to following them. It must be this "Darkstar" you speak of. We have noticed this more and more, our friends become strangers, following only the Dark General's words. Myself and Hergrit here, we have not felt this pull, but we are busy people, running this place on our own, and it'd take a lot to make me follow someone else, if you can believe that."

At this, Hergrit both nodded and sighed.

This one," - Ismelda looked down at the unconscious Wilford - "this one didn't need much encouragement. Most of the Guardsmen follow Haroka willingly, on the orders of Lord Arkyll, the Head of the Guardsmen and the sole survivor of the Ruling Three I was telling you about earlier."

She stopped talking, and went across to the fire, taking the pot away from it using the rough fabric of her long dress as protection for her hands.

"You want to check my pot o' veggies? Well, I doubt any kind of magical item will be foun- oh."

The discovery of a blue Summoning Amulet finally stopped the woman talking. She held it up to the heroes.

The second Summoning Amulet has been found!

The blissful silence was broken by a loud banging on the barricaded doors.

"Open up in the name of the Guardsmen!" a voice shouted. The sounds of clanking armour and weaponry joined the voice, and a lit arrow crashed through a window, setting one of the stools on fire.

What will the party do?

"Put that fire out." Guts instructed to the npc's owners of the establishment. "The rest of you, prepare for battle."

Guts got up to the door, and said:

"What do you want, we are closed."

[Etzel]

Maurice takes one of his bottles of Nostrum and drinks it, hoping to get some advantage in the battle that probably is at hand.

[Rumble Strike]

A voice shouts out, "We know you asaulted a Guardsmen. And we know you were involved in a series of deaths at the warehouses. Come out with your hands up, or we will burn the place to the ground! It's your choice, vagabonds!"

Several more fiery arrows smash through the windows. Ismelda and Hergrit tip the water barrel over to douse the flames, but more arrows come and the air starts to become thick with smoke.

The heroes all lose 2 health points regardless of SP.

Guts shouted out:

"Get ready, on my mark, kill everyone that is not standing in this room right now."

Guts pulled out Lifestealer, and jumped through one of the windows, ready to assault whoever was out there.

"Mark!"

Mizuki downs a mead, smelling salts and nostrum.

"Guts, should we leave the inn in the cover of this smoke ?"

"A cover of smoke is great. But not when you die from asphyxiation."

Nerwen follows the crazed raider out the window, mace at the ready.

I will be at a (non-Lego :( ) conference for the next 5 days. I should still have access, but if I don't check-in in any given 24 hr period, Scubacarrot can nominate battle-actions for me. Ta!

Just because she can,ie it's been 12hrs of silence Nerwen turnss her dive through the broken window into a gracefully executed forward roll, with twist, surprising her first target.
