Mr. Elijah Timms Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 THIS YETI FIG IS CLEARLY RACIST! It's obviously meant to exploit the stereotypical image of a North Pole/Santa's Village snow monster, without any consideration of the diversity of the genus, be it the Nepalese Abominable snowmen, the Alaskan polar Sasquatch sub-species, or, well, any resident of Yellowknife, Northern Territories, Canada. I mean, really, TLG, why BLUISH-WHITE? What do you have against, grayish-white, yellowish-white, or even brownish-white???!!! (The worst part is this isn't even the most ridiculous post on the subject in this thread. Let it go, friends.) Quote

commodore_legolas Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I really like the Yeti and welder, but those other two, I'm bummed. Can't wait to see the rest of the series! Quote
CM4Sci Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 The picture is gone. Anyone save it? -Sci Quote
just2good Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 The picture is gone. Anyone save it? -Sci Hmm, I hope LEGO didn't remove it. Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Don't know if it's been mentioned but there is already box-art- Dark Green! The image is prelim though so I'm not gonna post it. Quote
lifeinplastic Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Hopefully these won't be the best that Series 11 have to offer as I'm quite underwhelmed. Not really sure the yeti is particularly recognisable and very upset the scientist is not an Einstein lookalike. Quote
strangely Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Liking the scientist. A couple of new beaker colors is good and it's nice to have some diversity among the scientists in the Lego world. Evil Mech doesn't excite me. Odd how he has an upside down triforce printed on his armor. The Yeti looks interesting, I actually like it a bit better than most of the other monsters we've got. The Lady Robot is a mixed bag for sure. The head looks really good, but the printing on the body is sort of odd and not overly subtle (She has dials instead of breasts, oh Lego you so funny). And I'm not sure what's happening with the legs, what is the pink supposed to be? The welder is pretty spectacular, great printing, great new parts. Definitely a win all the way around. Hopefully the rest are revealed soon. I'm getting anxious. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 The role of women in Star Wars and Super Heroes is pretty lame. I strongly disagree on that, mostly on the star wars part. You have a kickass princess Leia, a very interesting Queen Amidala and a lot of other very important characters are women and they do not play the usual role of the damsel in distress, which however has really fit the characters for a lot of time. Jaller8240 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Did anyone else notice the Evil Robot has the upside-down Triforce symbol form Blacktron? Quote

TrumpetKing Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I'm not a fan of the Female robot. It looks like they took the original Clockwork Robot Print, then added some pink so it wasn't the same. And her torso has given me the image of a face. One that I can't unsee. Quote
just2good Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Did anyone else notice the Evil Robot has the upside-down Triforce symbol form Blacktron? A lot have. It's a nice nod to Blacktron. Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Do you have the placeholders on the image or have you seen real pictures of the minifigures? Placeholders unfortunately... Whoever said it' 'just green', I said dark because of Series 3 obviously... Quote
seba123 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I love the welder, this will be a fantastic addition to any city! So many great ideas come to mind. The yeti is a bit too cartoon-like for my taste... Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Here's one for the tradies again.....that welder is just the bomb.....new helmet, new torso for overalls minus spanners for a change and the welding rig ! The chemist is similar to the one that was part of that Shell promo (that Australia only got 500 of - most of us missed out on....rant over ). My son will want the Yeti.....in fact they are all good to AWESOME.....that being the welder.....tradies rule you see ! Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Series 11 looks amazing so far! Can't wait to see the rest, especially the much-talked about Gingerbread Man. Personally, my favorite is the Yeti followed closely by the Welder. Quote
TrumpetKing Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Placeholders unfortunately... Whoever said it' 'just green', I said dark because of Series 3 obviously... Well, to get super technical here, Series 3 was Lime Green. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 That picture is neat. I'm not blown away by any of them, but I will be in for a few of each for the collection. I think the Yeti is the best for what it is. But I like the addition of a welder and female robot. It is weird since the dials are right where her chest is...scandalous much?? Think of the children! Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 But most of all... why was this picture taken at ... an airport!??!?! Quote
Kai NRG Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 But most of all... why was this picture taken at ... an airport!??!?! Perhaps because they're all... futuristic? No that's not exactly the word. I mean like, the Welder could (maybe) weld the parts of a rocket/shuttle together (er, theoretically), the Female Robot is clearly not an everyday thing, the Yeti looks like he could be from some ice planet, the Scientist would of course be the brains behind the whole expedition, and the evil robot... well, he's probably the menace they're going to fight. Yeah, I know... But really though, it's a good question. There doesn't seem to be a logical explanation... not too logical, that is! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 This. All are good except her. I mean, it's like the one from The Jetsons, but it still isn't. There's barely a use for this. I can think of one... Remember this guy?... Even though the fig's rather weak, I may have to get one for the sake of continuing the above idea. Welder guy is awesome! I'm quite impressed with that fig. (Even though I have an inordinate amount of mini-figures with overalls) The female scientist is spectacular! Not only am I glad we're getting another female figure (and a smart female role-model figure too boot) but two new flasks! The Yeti is adorable, and once I get it, I'll finally have a Popsicle piece! That evil robot with its Blacktron symbol is wonderful! I may army build them like I did the Black Knight (5!) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
parksroad Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 C'mon, how cute will the wind up robot-boys-and-girls be (it does look like she has the piece hooked around her neck-stud.) I'm excited for these. Quote
