---Vertea--- Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 It just occurred to me that the yeti hairpiece by itself would make a decent Lion's head for a statue. Put a blank head underneath, and there ya go. Quote

Unfortunately for your plans I think it looks quite definitely like a single mold (the face around the eyes is very flat and the part where it changes from bluish face to white fur is not shadowed or otherwise implicating different pieces)... but I'm not dead certain. I'm with you on this one. Looks like this is a molded head like the centaur or the grey alien. Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 (edited) I think you mean Minotaur ( ), and yes, it is very similar, as it isn't quite a "sandwich board" piece covering the torso, but it covers some of it, and, because of that, cannot rotate his head. Ah, well. Edited June 16, 2013 by 8BrickMario Quote
DrLegostar Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Looking forward to the Yeti and welder. Really want to see the diner waitress. Quote
thmy Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Yeti and Welder looks great! Hope to see what the barbarian will look like soon. Quote

With respect, I disagree. I only have the picture to go on so I could be wrong, but I suspect it's two parts: a standard head in blue and a separate hair/beard/lower jaw piece in white. I hope I'm right as I've already ordered a white hair piece on BL to create a variant Yeti (in addition to the standard one in S11). Edited June 18, 2013 by AmperZand Quote

I too agree on this, it looks like two separate pieces... and IMHO it would be really a shame if it was a single piece! :D Quote
lifeinplastic Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I would imagine that all the other non-gender specific figures in Series 11 will all be male, given the usual 5 females per series. I was hoping the mountaineer would be female rather than the scientist as I wanted an Einstein. Still, there are plenty more unseen figures, which I am looking forward to - mainly the Jazz Musician (interesting the list did not specify 'saxophonist' or 'trumpeter', etc...) and the Waitress. The question is though - would you prefer to see the remaining Series 11 pics now or a list of Series 12 characters? (for the record I don't have either so just a hypothetical question). Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I knew the scientist would be female, as she was partially leaked in the Series 10 preliminary overview. The Librarian was originally mislabeled the "Female Scientist" and was seen with the flasks. And I would like to see the rest of S11. Who cares about Series 12 right now? Quote
Blakstone Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Since I am disappointed in the yeti and I doubt the barbarian will interest me, I am interested in Series 12 now. I want historical / mythological minifigs. Still, if we see some really interesting minifigs I might buy a few. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I would have to agree that the yeti's headpiece is only one molded piece. I can't see a line indicating there is a separation there. But since I don't know officially, I will say I'm 99.9% sure it is a single piece. I would say the evil mech is definitely a head and a helmet since it looks seemingly identical to the most reason mech. Which is interesting since the Galaxy Squad mechs are all molded heads, even the one that looks like it would resemble the CMF mech. I think that welder will actually be a sleeper hit. Quote

The Librarian was originally mislabeled the "Female Scientist" and was seen with the flasks. Wasn't that just a descriptive name assigned by fans for the character guess when the new pieces of S10 (and the S11 flasks) were uncovered? I think the character was called Librarian already in the first text list we got. Quote

I think the character was called Librarian already in the first text list we got. The pieces were leaked some days before the leaked list appeared and she was called scientist. Then in the leaked list she appeared as librarian. Waitress. The question is though - would you prefer to see the remaining Series 11 pics now or a list of Series 12 characters? (for the record I don't have either so just a hypothetical question). S12. I am interested in the barbarian, scarecrow and tiki warrior. The rest really aren't much for me. I am really hopeful for the scarecrow, which means it will be just a meh. Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I remember that both lists were revealed, but I only knew of the Librarian as the Female Scientist until later. Back on topic, I think the Yeti has one head/chest fur piece. Quote
just2good Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Back on topic, I think the Yeti has one head/chest fur piece. You didn't notice that before? Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I knew it from the start, but you'll see a debate about it if you look back a little. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 You didn't notice that before? I actually still think they are two pieces. Quote
Jargo Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 To me, it's clearly a printed one-piece. There's a moulded brow, but below that is completely flat where the face is printed. Then the lower lip and fangs are moulded. There's no recess or shadows/highlights at the edges of the blue and white sides of the face as there would be if it was two pieces. the only shadow is on the eyes from the moulded brow and under the lower lip and beard moulding. ---Vertea--- Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 'tis a shame... I had rally hoped it would be like the cyclops head mold in that the mold came really close to the mini head. still cool, tho. I'll be happy to add it to my lego Monster museum. And just think... if CMF hadn't become a thing, these ideas would have probably popped up as chase figs in various themes, costing considerably more to obtain. Quote
TrumpetKing Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 ... Or even worse, not at all! Honestly, I love this theme, and I think this will be my favorite series, or at least close. It's looking pretty strong. Quote
AmperZand Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 As I already said, I suspect the Yeti's head is two parts. One of the reasons I think that it's two pieces is that printing the eyes in a recess is more complicated (and therefore more expensive) than printing them on a flat or protruding surface. Also, the overall size of the head suggests a standard head inside. If it were one piece (like the Minotaur's) is could be smaller or more shaped. Lastly, the area around the eyes is flat suggesting a standard head. But as I said previously, I could be wrong. Quote

Paul Sinasohn Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 In Series 11, I am interested in the Lady Robot, Constable, Jazz Musician, and possibly the Dinner Waitress Quote
