I tried to feel them, but I just got really angry after not finding either a scarecrow, a bavarian lady or a jazz player and eventually I simply bought a random pack hoping it would be one of those I wanted.

Ah. I try not to let frustration get the better of me. I do get frustrated when I'm on a time limit and think I'm not going to find the one I want, like what almost happened with the Gingerbread Man. But I hate the 6-per-box figures. How many Constables I've felt, I have no idea.

This wave seems much easier to feel,at least for me,I'm usually not very good at it but I went through 60 packs in about 20 mins and got the 3 I wanted pretty easily.

My cohort and I raided the Natick MA Lego Store on Monday and searched every single package. We found only *three* Tiki warriors. Total haul came to:

Tiki - 2 (gave 1 to our employee buddy at the store since he's a cool cucumber)

Blues Brother - 1 for my musical brother

Barmaid - 2 good medieval outfit

Barbarian - 7 buying them for the cheap gladius x2

Welder - 3 because Bioshock 1 MOC also he's awesome

Constable - 4 because I failed to get enough British Queensguard when they were out

Gingerboy - 1 cuz he's weird

Yeti - 3 cuz they're ...cool :P

Female Scientist - 1 because **** Lego Friends #feminism #anitasarkeesian

Evil Robot - 1 because the armor

Scarekrow - 1 cuz he looks very boss

Overall, excellent series. One of the best. Definitely wins the prize out of all 11 series for:

Most Original Minifig: Gingerboy (dat head)

Most Original Armybuilder: Tiki Man (epic mask of epic)

Best Blue Collar Character: Welder (dat blowtorch, dat helmet)

Swaggest Musician: Blues Brother (even more so than the violin case gangster)

Most Adorable Monster: The Yeti (an excellent character design. It appeals to both genders as well, which is always a good thing)

Best Medieval Parts Pack: Barbarian (fur short pants/boots combo, light-armored torso with excellent arm detailing, scarred fighter face, generic tousled peasant hair in black, and the coup de grace, not one but *two* silver gladii)

Best Agricultural Minifigure (ever?): The Scarecrow. So many little details. Superbly done.

I agree that the Yeti wins "Most Adorable Monster". There are so many cute scenarios you could do with him. And when you make him hold the Elf's present...who wouldn't want a gift from such a cute Yeti?

And what was that random and seemingly irrelevant comment about, Tolkien?

I finally got some Series 11 figures today. :classic: However when I got there most of the figures were already gone and felt through so most of the figures I was looking for were gone. I couldn't even count the number of Mountain Climbers and Constables I went through... it was crazy. But I was able to get a new box and find some of the ones I wanted. I got 4 elves to go along with my santa and 4 Yetis because he's such an awesome figure and I really couldn't resist. I also got a couple gingerbread men and a grandma. No Jazz Musician or Scarecrow though so I'll have to go back another time.

I am making steady progress with the series. I still need Grandma, Welder, and the Pretzel girl. I want a second Tiki Warrior and Saxophone Player. I only bought the Mountain Climber for the red helmet. I am making a bicycle shop MOC where they also sell different helmets. I am on the fence about the Diner Waitress but I hope to skip the Lady Robot.

I am not sure if this is an easier wave to feel or if I am getting better at it. There was two Series 10 bags at Walmart while I was going through the Series 11. I bought my fourth Revolutionary Soldier but left the Mountain Climber.

I got two today. Welder (awesome) and mountain dude (ehh, nice elvish rope though) and they smell absolutely nasty.

Does Walgreens, Wal-Mart USA and Kmart are now selling S11 yet? Because I definitely need the Pretzel Girl, Scientist and the Jazz Musician.

I was at Walmart yesterday and Kmart just before that and had no luck. Only some very picked through S10 stuff. But I did find them at TRU.

I never knew Walgreens sold CMF. I was surprised to see they started selling Contact Lenses also.

So far here in Nebraska, I've only seen them at Target. I don't go to TRU, but I'm sure they have them. I haven't seen any at Walmarts yet, but they normally get some eventually. We don't have Kmarts here, but the Kmart equivalent ShopKo usually doesn't get too many, but I have seen an older series there before. But their prices are worse than TRU, so I don't go there often either.

Today i have bought the 4 minifigs i wanted from this series really bad:

- The scarecrow - awesome minifig, one of my favorite of all time, the printing is great, the crow on the hat is amazing and overall the details are awesome.

- Gingerbread man - yet another awesome minifig, i bought it just for the cup and the amazing design

- Tiki warrior - beautiful printing, masc, spear, design ! Must have from this series.

- Female scientist - only because i work in biotechnology field and i love science minifigs ! Love it !

This series has jumped to the top of my list as one of the best - probably Top 3. The only clunker in my mind is the Lady Robot.

I'm also impressed how many figures can be used to populate my winter village, just in time for the holidays - rock climber (repurposed as a mountain rescue worker), Yeti, elves, Bavarian Girl, Gingerbread man...

I am very uncided about this series.

-Barbarian: why two swords, instead of a big one, or a big axe? Why the hair isn't fitting well the head?

-Lady Robot... bah

-TIki Warrior: why the mask in rubber?!?!? Why just two??!?!?

-Waitress: why YELLOW?

-Scarecrow: why just two?!?

-Welder: they could have done lift-up mask ... :( and 6 per box are too many...

-Gingerbread man: a cup? I would have provided him a sugar cane...

Ok for me: Evil Mech, Grandma, Pretzel Girl, Elf, Scientist, Bobby, Yeti, Jazz Musician, Climber.

I'm too much sorry for the fact this seem to be the last "standard" series...

Having finally acquired all of these (thanks to a rural area Target, with a whole shelf full of unpicked over boxes), here are my thoughts/impressions:

  • Yeti - I love it. Yeah, it's a little undersized relative to the other figures (I would expect something slightly more imposing) but I am already salivating over the possibilities for this figure in my Winter Village. And it's tremendously cute.
  • Evil Mech - I'm not a huge fan of the mech being repurposed from the Galaxy Patrol, and it seems like a mehod to get higher volume production from mitigate costs on the mold. But the Blacktron tribute is nice.
  • Welder - Great looking figure, appropriately sweaty and dirty. I appreciate it when TLG showcases blue collar work
  • Lady Robot - The only real clunker of the bunch.
  • Jazz Musician - Perfect. The saxophone is perfect. I will be swapping out the brick-built saxophone from the Winter Village Post Office.
  • Constable - I'm not terribly familiar with the British Bobbys, but this is a great figure. The printing is great and the hat is perfect. Instantly recognizable as a British police officer.
  • Holiday Elf - Others have mentioned the odd green color mismatches; the face is getting swapped out (I abhorr the face they included) - the smile is too buck-toothed and pinched. I bought a few extra of these to populate Santa's workshop.
  • Bavarian Lady - Great female figure. The freckled face is adorable with a great smile, and the dirndl is instantly recognizable.
  • Scarecrow - Great fig. The printing is outstanding (front, back, different on both arms). What color is the face and hands? I can't seem to place it or identify it... Good re-use of the Lone Ranger crow.
  • Mountain Climber - Good fig with lots of detail. Very prevalent in boxes, but not quite as annoying as the skydiver from the previous series.
  • Grandma - I'm not a fan of the face design, but the torso/hair/pants is perfect. The color of the pants just scream grandma-pants.
  • Tiki Warrior - Great figure. I found 4 of these; weren't they supposed to be less common?
  • Gingerbread Man - Again, great figure. I think the sandwich cookie head is genius - gingerbread with ginger creme filling? Yum.
  • Barbarian - Looks slightly too much like the Tarzan figure from the previous series, but it's perfectly fine and fits in well with other warriors released in the collectible minifigs line.
  • Dinner Waitress - This is one of those "I love the figure" but also recognize it's kind of a European take on an American icon where they mashed together two different types of waitresses. My Mother in Law was a rollerskater waitress at an A&W (car hop) back in the 1960s and probably looked a lot like this gal, but for some reason, the hair and face look older, like a cantakerous diner waitress you would see in the actual restaurant (and certainly not running around on skates). It's a minor quibble, so I just took off the skates.
  • Scientist - that ponytail hair is so overrused. It's still nice to have more female heads with glasses. :)

As great as the blacktron mech is, I don't like mish-mash of blacktron I and II. We either need yellow or lime green. I know they had a blacktron II call out already, so they should have stuck with blacktron I.

The local Indigo had just put out a fresh box today, and so my mum & I nabbed a Scarecrow for myself, an Evil-Mech for my mum and we each got a Tiki Warrior. (that gives us 4 between the two of us!) All I can say is, why LEGO? Why did you make the best fig of the series a measly 2 per box?!
