Omicron Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) <br />Are you able to point me a piece that wasn't shown in the pictures but was actually in the bags in series released AFTER they stopped to put spare parts in the bags? What everyone said Plus the hairpiece was not a spare part. It was an interchangeable part like how the Space Girl and Daredevil both had hairpieces and helmets. -Omi Edited March 13, 2013 by Omicron Quote
Swifty118247 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Overall about this whole debate just because it wasn't in the group photo doesn't mean that he won't come with the piece. As mentioned before they have done this before and I don't think that they would add this piece to another set so chances are he will come with the piece Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I'm actually really looking forward to see a pic of Mr. Gold. If he doesn't appeal to most people, I really won't mind. That'll just drive the secondary market prices down. I'm down for pretty much any chrome fig. Quote
CM4Sci Posted March 13, 2013 Author Posted March 13, 2013 I'm really thinking he's set C-3PO gold... -Sci Quote

It was an interchangeable part like how the Space Girl and Daredevil both had hairpieces and helmets. -Omi Which were perfectly shown in the picture like: http://smashing-bricks.com/files/2010/12/series3.jpg 2 hair pieces for race car driver, shown in pictures http://toysnbricks.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/LEGO-Minifigures-Series-6-Pre.jpg 2 hair pieces for space girl shown in pictures http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/28800000/Series-7-lego-minifigures-28871522-2000-1600.jpg 2 hair pieces for daredevil, shown in pictures No second hairpiece for magician in series 1 because they were used to release a lot of more parts and minifigures costed less. So it its fully legit NOT to expect a second hairpiece for revolutionary soldier BECAUSE that's not shown in pictures. By the way since Omi and some seem so sure there are chances, I'm offering to bet 1 vs 10 that there won't be any. Any challenger? ;) Quote
The_Creator Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 No, there were no spare parts in S3. Unfortunately... Ok, sorry, my bad. And as with the current discussion, Omi is right, they weren't spares but another accessory. And as Itara pointed out, all the figs with hair and a head accessory had them both shown on the main Series picture. Even though I'd love the inclusion of a shakio, it's pretty apparent it won't happen. Quote
Omicron Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 No second hairpiece for magician in series 1 because they were used to release a lot of more parts and minifigures costed less. What are you talking about? There was a second headgear for the magician. It was the hairpiece. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=col01-9 And not shown http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XbdHXarsLg4/UCaHTbN5lwI/AAAAAAAAKwE/0rPeDBMQ1QA/s640/lego_minifigures_series_1_limited_edition_8683.jpg I bet there will be a hat for the soldier because that's how my boys rolled. -Omi Quote

Yooha Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Personally, I think they won't put a tricorn in the bag, although I hope they will. If we want to make an explanation, why it is possible to have a tricorn despite the fact that other hairpieces were shown on the picture for the Daredevil, etc.. here is one: Lego minifigs can't hold a tricorn in their hands, but can hold a helmet. Even for a CGI picture, it would be difficult. So, how about that? Quote
lkjhfsa Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Cool series although this series doesn't look as appealing to me as the previous minifigure series. The only ones that catch my eyes are the gold one, paintball guy, and the guy with tattoos. I only like the others because of the accessories they come with mainly the baseball mitt, "iPod", and the neon skateboard helmet. Quote
Proximo Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Why does everbody think that the golden figure will be chrome? For me it seems more likely that the fig will be just pearl, because since the CMF-line existet, there never has been any chrome part in it. Quote

Chrome is VERY rare for TLG to make. I think he'll just be pearl personally, as this is what he looks like in the picture. Edited March 15, 2013 by ManInATopHat Quote
commodore_legolas Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 On the main picture of Series 9 it shows both his bottle and try. On his single picture it doesn't show any accessories. Still, not all pics had it! I still have a point, you can't deny that! Quote

Kai NRG Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Everyone seems to be forgetting the mime. Two extra heads not shown in pictures. But that was in one of the series that had extra pieces, that's why we're forgetting him (or one reason). Quote
DrLegostar Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 But that was in one of the series that had extra pieces, that's why we're forgetting him (or one reason). Yes but those weren't extra (I'm assuming extra to be more of the same pieces), they were part of his mimeness... mimiety? You get what I mean. Quote

Of course, but that's the entire argument - there weren't any fig parts not in the pictures after S2, and since that was in S2, it doesn't really answer the question. With all the other examples that have been pointed out, though, there obviously have been - though not in the case of hat/wig, and personally I doubt the soldier would include a tricorn. Of course I'd love it if there was, but it does seem unlikely. Quote

A minifig can hold a tricorn! by «†Knight~Man†» (also The_Creator), on Flickr It looks like the tricorn is floating in air before the fig! Is there a 1x1 round plate under the tricorn? Okay, in that case he can hold it of course. Quote

Proximo Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Well, technically the fig is wearing the tricorn ON it's hand and not holding it IN it's hand. So the statement that a minifig can't hold a tricorn in it's hand is still true. Just my opinion. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Too bad the soldier does not come with the tricorn, as he would be MUCH easier to feel for in the bags, although there are 3 other figs I'll be army building from this series that are relatively hard to feel for (no dress, armor or large headpiece) so I'll need to determine what every figure is when I'm searching through them. Actually this series would be quite easy to feel. Librarian = the book. This isn't missable. Painter = One of the easiest, with lot of unique pieces. Lady Warrior = Very easy, big round shield, pike. Captain = Very easy: seagull isn't missable. Baseball player = SUPER easy, the only torso with different hand. Sad clown = easy. Unique bodywear and headgear. Trendy diva = easy. Tile 1 x 2, chihuahua... Golden minifigure = not so easy. But it's the only one, and I doubt I'd find one. Mechanic = less easy but easy too. Bandana is hard to mistake for other hairpiece Grandad = easy. Tile 2 x 2, a very big piece. Mohican = easy. The hairpiece is in rubber, easy to check. Paintball player = quite easy, the gun is unique. Roman soldier = less easy but easy too, for the headgear and the sword. Medusa = ... Skydiver = one of the trickiest, but not that much. Bee Woman = the honey pot is a big piece one can't miss Revolutionary soldier = the musket is a very big piece. Easy. I actually don't miss a minifig since series 4 where it was really trickier... my 10 forest maidens, 20 elves and 20 dwarves speak for me ;) Quote
Rogue Angel Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Actually this series would be quite easy to feel. I totally disagree. With series 9, I can walk in and immediately discard half the figs withou big pieces, because they aren't the figures I want. (Forest Maiden, Evil trooper, Cyclops, Good Knight) and then you just throw out the mermaids and Mechs and feel for the bow/shield with the dress. Series 8, Conquistador has armor, Diver has big helmet, bat has winged arms. Series 7, Aztec has big helmet, Space Marine has armor, Evil Knight has armor, Valkyrie has dress. Series 10 is NOT an easy series without the big pieces IMO. I'm not saying I won't be able to find what I want, it's just going to take longer. I have been spoiled by the last 3 sets. Quote
