I know the official release of CMF Series 10 will be in May 2013 in other stores, but LEGO stores and Toys R US are start having them this April. I cannot wait to check it out at my local TRU next month.

Can't help but think that the paint roller handle would make a really excellent wall light fixture.

That's an excellent idea! I think that piece should be pretty useful.

As for the missing bird droppings, I think I have an explanation. Did anybody else notice that the original pictures we got had the Sea Captain's legs with pockets? The pockets are I believe the exact same design as the Paintball Player's. The bird droppings were also identical in shape to the Paintball Player's paint splotches. So the picture we saw must have been an accidental re-color. Or, possibly the Paintball Player was intended to be white, and they had already done the initial designs for him, which got leaked.

Posted

I noticed the bird droppings were gone also. That is unfortunate. Although, I guess technically he is more usable now for other settings, so it's a win in the long run.

A Mrs. Gold...hmm, interesting.

The only place I saw the bird dropping is the speculated picture, according to the new elements on brickset:

http://toysnbricks.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/LEGO-Minifigure-Series-10-Collectable-2013-Pre.jpg

Which was not official at all, and had many "mistakes": Medusa had legs, the tomahawk warrior had the spear, but without the tomahawk, etc..

They weren't necessarily "mistakes". Those were speculated by Eurobricks members to go together and were put together using an editing resource. I looked back at the old Sea Captain, and the legs are exactly the same print as the Paintball Players, and we know that TLG has yet to put identical prints out for CMF's, so it became clear to me that those weren't going to be the Sea Captain's legs when the picture first came.

While it's more likely to be a simple mistake in the part renders uploaded to customer service, is it possible that the recolored paintball legs are intended for a minifigure collection like the Halloween set with the recolored Zombie, or the Rock Band set with the recolored Rapper, Punk Rocker, and Rocker Girl?

No, the recolored paintball player legs were just photoshopped. They were never actually in the customer service database. That's one of the things that's frustrating about pics like this... they can be very useful as illustrations early on, but they tend to spread like wildfire until eventually they lose the context that identifies them as unofficial mock-ups.

What do you mean by this? If he did have the bird poo on his pants, they're easily swappable. The official one just has boring white pants. Can you explain why he is "more usable" now?

The original "droppings" pants were the Paintballer's photoshopped to appear lighter. I'm confused on why no one seems to know that.

I guess not everyone looks at the small details. I see pants and assume to be correct. I'm not in on the designing, so I went with whomever put up that picture. Now, yes, it is clear that it is just a recolor of it, but at the initial posting of that picture (last year?) I would assume it to be as accurate as could be. Obviously Medusa was different because you would expect a tail, but otherwise everything was there to get an idea.

I am glad he doesn't have bird droppings, although it would have been funny (like most CMF figures) if he did. I claimed he is more usable because then people wouldn't have to make the swap from dirty pants to clean pants. Not everyone has tons of spare pants around (if they wanted to make an army of him, which I know some people who do).

I don't know why it is such a big deal with that one comment, but okay. Whatever floats your boat.

Actually if the pants had been black spotted they could have been used as" dirty" pants for multiple things. But then again, who wears white pants to a job where you get dirty? Since I only have a couple white pants I'm kinda glad there plain.

I'm suprised to see very little posting on this thread. I guess the hype is not as great as series 9, perhaps now that we've seen the official pictures of the figures, no one really care anymore. Or perhaps the Mr Gold chase put collectors off. Whatever it is, I'm still waiting for Whitefang's review if there is one at all and also for the release dates in stores.

I just want to post a completely opinion-based question: Now that you all have seen the physical minifigs and details, what is your top favorite, and what are the top two below it? (The two below it can be equal in rank, not only best, less good, even less good. The two below can be tied.)

I'll start with mine. My top fave is Medusa (and if you've followed this thread, you already know that) The double-sided face really has me sold on her.

No army builders for me in this series ( I much prefer a sci-fi army), so the other two (tied) have to be the Trendsetter, 'cause she's hilarious, and the Sad Clown, because he's simple, accurate, and mysterious.

Last night I thought it was funny that LEGO included two bitter enemies in one series: The Grandpa and the Trendsetter.

Trendsetter: "OMG, Gramps, you made me LOL! Better txt my BFF!"

Grandpa: Back in my day, we spoke in WORDS!"

The older generation versus teens....This could get nasty!

This April at LEGO Stores and Toys R US.

Actually, I believe it is May for LEGO Stores. May is probably the official release because LEGO is not going to stop their patter with releasing Minifigures. They have already had 3 Series released in May (1, 4, 7), so it is clear they have a schedule for releasing their minifigures. May will likely be the "official" release, with some other stores (TRU, Fred Meyer's, etc.) possibly releasing them anytime in April, but I would be willing to guess mid-to-late April.

LOL.

My personal favorite would have to be Roman Commander, such a beautiful minifig with great and detailed pieces.

Second would be Warrior Woman, epic shield and prints, plus a gold tiped spear. Although a helmet of sorts would have been preferable over hair…

Third would be a toss up between Revolutionary Soldier and Paitballer, both being excellent looking minifigs.

And my personal least favorite would be Bumblebee Girl, just an utterly useless minifig.

Second least favorite is Medusa*everyone gasps*, although a nice minifig, not being a fan of Medusa and having no accessories, it's just not worth the $3.19 for me.

My first would be the Roman Commander too.

I really like the roman minifigs and other minifigs from more-or-less that time era.

Second and third would be the revolutionary soldier and the sea captain (his suit and seagull especially  ).

They have already had 3 Series released in May (1, 4, 7),

Series 4 appeared in Hungary on 1st April, days after they did in western countries. Series 7 hit the stores in April as well.

(and the present is the 1st case they appeared in Hungary first).

Oh, favorites: Sad clown - someone suggested it to be a future CM months ago, and I thought "Oh my god, that would be so great!" But I don't know why. I liked the other black-and-white figure as well (the mime that is).

Sea Captain - for that turtleneck torso

Medusa - another suggestion by someone, another dream came true

Least favorable: skydiver, librarian, mechanic

Thanks! I'm glad you liked my simulation between Miss Trendy and Grandpa.

EDIT: Was your reaction, "LOL", an intentional nod to the Trendsetter?

Least favorite.... Hmm... For me, the Paintballer is useless, but well designed. So I have to say I hate the Motorcycle Mechanic. The tattoo is the only selling point, it is bland, and will be one of the most common. I will probably get one to complete the set, but I will avoid all others.

To rectify my confusion over the popularity of the Romans, I like the Commander, but I'm less into Roman civilization, while I prefer Greek mythology. (explaining the Medusa love. By the way, The_Creator, you are forgiven for not liking Medusa. We're all entitled to our own opinions!)

I'm not nearly as interested in Series 10's selection of minifigs as I was in Series 8 or 9, but here are the ones I'm hoping to pick up.

Top: Roman Soldier

2nd: Librarian

3rd: Medusa

Revolutionary Soldier is number 1. Amazon Warrior woman is number 2. Roman is number 3.

Ever since I got out of my dark ages and picked up the IFS, I've been wanting an updated bluecoat torso and now I have it!

The warrior woman is beautiful with that shield and hairpiece. I can't wait to get multiples of her.

I really do like the Roman, but he is second fiddle to some of the other figures, but I do hope to get multiples of him too. As far as I can tell this will be the most expensive series to date. Hopefully my local Target will get this series since they never got in any series 9. I have multiple giftcards to spend!

My favorites are;

1. Roman

2. Old Captain

3. War of Independence Soldier

Least favorite would be the Medusa, by a long shot - so you're not alone, The_Creator!
