Legofin2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 (edited) OK, hard decision: enter a small entry, but more chance of winning and the 1st prize is smaller, or a big entry with less chance of winning, but better prize, so what to choose??? Edited December 4, 2012 by Legofin2012 Quote

Legofin2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 (edited) You can enter both categories. No you unfortunately can't (See Brickdocter's last post) Edited December 4, 2012 by Legofin2012 Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Can the "episodes" moc be peaceful? for example a jedi school? Yes, as long as they're related to Star Wars. Quote
Rook Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Now if we could only convince ACPin to let us have a shot at our first UCS set. Quote
Brickmamba Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Wow first prize for main category is out of this world, good luck to all entering Quote
ACPin Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 --- Main Category In this category, there is no size limitation. You can build anything you want that relates to the theme. However, keep in mind that size is not as important as quality. --- Now if we could only convince ACPin to let us have a shot at our first UCS set. Quit yappin and better get started on your entry! Bob De Quatre Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Maybe the prize should go to the second place, and not the first (aka ACPin) Quote
Cloney Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) Finished mine, but im not going to show pictures of it as of yet. It will look new and fresh when its close to voting time Edited December 7, 2012 by Cloney Quote
Legofin2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Are we allowed to do a lego version of a picture, like some concept art or something?? Quote
Gory51 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Just a question here, but if only one entry is allowed, and people can enter small items in the large category.....why would they enter the small category of competition? Should the large category not be restricted to 16x16 and larger? OR Maybe small should be defined as small vignettes 16x16 and minis , anything else would be large and then allow a person one entry to EACH category? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Are we allowed to do a lego version of a picture, like some concept art or something?? You can, but remember that you're creating something that you think will happen in the new movie(s), so the in-universe story that your MOC is telling shouldn't be from an existing canon publication. Just a question here, but if only one entry is allowed, and people can enter small items in the large category.....why would they enter the small category of competition? I'm sure that there will be more entries in the large category, so if you're making a small entry, you have a choice: you can either go up against the big MOCs for a chance at the big prize, or you can enter the smaller category for what will probably be a better chance of winning (or at least a level playing field in terms of size of entries), but for a smaller prize. The goal here was to give the builders who don't have a lot of bricks/like to build small a better chance to win, but at the same time not limit the builders who like to go big. If you're building a smaller entry, we wanted to give you an alternative if you prefer to compete against MOCs of the same size. Quote
Legofin2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) But can we enter a small entry in both categories? And can we do like a picture off Wikipedia in Lego? Edited December 7, 2012 by Legofin2012 Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 But can we enter a small entry in both categories? No. And can we do like a picture off Wikipedia in Lego? The subject of the contest is to build something that you think will happen in the new movies, which are new, original stories. You are supposed to use your imagination to come up with something similarly new and original that you think will be in the new movies. Quote

OK, tnx Brickdoctor wasn't sure, there was a picture that I wanted to recreate, but I guess I will have to think up an other idea.... Quote
Empire911 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Are we supposed to make a "work in progress" topic? They say it on the list of rules, last line. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Are we supposed to make a "work in progress" topic? They say it on the list of rules, last line. No, you don't have to make a WIP topic. What the rule means is that until the deadline for entry passes, all the entries are considered WIPs (whether they are are posted as WIPs or not), so you can make changes to your entry until the deadline has passed. Some of us do have limited parts, so this is therefore a great way to be able to still compete, considering all entries have to be brickbuilt. Thank you for the clarity ;) Quote
pedro Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Wow, very exciting contest and an awesome prize pool. "...keep in mind that size is not as important as quality." It's worth remembering that some of the best LEGO creations are really wee, so don't be daunted by going head to head with some of the large scale builders if like me you have a limited selection of parts and most importantly, space! Can't wait to see what entries start rolling in. Maybe the Star Wars 7 creative team will find inspiration on these very pages! :D Quote
FGRaptor Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Well I will definitely try and enter, though I wonder how good I will be. Still better to try than not to try. Quote
Hammerstein NWC Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Is this a lego only comp or after market parts permitted? (my standard question) Quote
Erdbeereis Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 From the rules: All entries must include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals and custom minifigures and accessories (Brickarms, Brickforge) are allowed, but modifying parts is not allowed. Quote
Cloney Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 There was nothing said about photo sizes when posted on Eurobricks, no photo size limitations? Quote
