Waterbrick Down Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 "Forgery..." Ellaria gasps. She then uses her telescope to see if she can spot any further details about the shady activity in the room. The Druid observes that the scrap metal is a mixture of iron, steel, and predominately lead. The man at the end seems to be reciting ancient words from an old tome and Ellaria can just make out a small letter Z affixed to the front of the book. Finally, Ellaria notes that the man on the other side of the walkway is wearing a cloak very similar to the one being carried by Boomingham.
Fred Daniel Yam Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 "Alchemists" William growls, "always up to no good." "Madame Arbour, aim your telescope at the man on the banister."
Sandy Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 "That man on the balcony seems to carry the priest's cloak," Ellaria whispers to the others. "What do we do now, Lawrence? Confront them for their suspicious actions or give them back their own cloak. Remember what they did to poor Spud..." Ellaria zooms her telescope at the cloaked man to see if she can spot anything else of interest about him besides the cloak.
Zepher Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 "I think these chaps knocked off Spud's brother, which means they've got some knocking coming their way as well, don't they?" Lawrence glances at Barty, who has dimmed his natural glow so as not to draw attention. Barty nods. "Ennoc, your new god, even me-- no one is going to stop some 'knocking'." "Fantastic. Ellaria, pop on that new hat of your's, I'd rather keep you alive and it looks like it would offer some protection." Boomingham downs a mead and places his hand on his new bomb, ready to lob it at the first sign of any aggressive movement. "We have the tactical high ground. If they make any funny moves, we drop bombs on them. That ought to slow them down." Boomingham steps out of the shadows and announces his presence in the booming voice that he alone possesses. "Hello, chaps! I'm looking for the owner of this cloak!" Boomingham holds the cloak above his head. "It's got some gold sewn into the hemming. Now, before anyone steps forward to claim it, bear in mind, we're relatively sure the owner killed a little fellow. What goes around comes around. Who wants to claim this beautiful cloak?"

The startled workers glance upwards as the Paladin holds aloft the cloak. A shower of red dust falls from the fabric and Boomingham notices it is no longer as heavy as it once was. "Ah, you must be from Swisshopper's. I sent my man over there the other day, but appears someone else had made off with my cloak. What's this about a murder? I'm sorry, but you have the wrong gentleman, I wouldn't hurt a fly. IWhy don't you come over here and we can sort all of this nonsense out?" Edited January 13, 2013 by Waterbrick Down
Sandy Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 "He's lying his teeth off..." Ellaria mutters as she switches the Bandana to the Tricorn and uses her venom on her crossbow. OoC: Don't forget that I also used some items earlier, WBD.
Waterbrick Down Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) The gentleman on the walkway gives a nod to the figures below and the workers below continue about their business. The mage goes back to his muttering, the dwarf back to inspecting the gold on the table, the Pogcanis makes his way past the pile of iron to below the walkway out of the heroes sight, and the bird shaped individual continues to stare intently at the flow of liquid metal under his gaze. Zepher Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 "Harkenshire, drop those bombs on the people below if they do anything funny. Protect Ellaria. Though she can protect herself well enough." Boomingham hisses quietly to the warden before sauntering over to the man. "Here you are, sir. Looks like its leaking. It appears to me, also, that you are indeed the men who knocked off the little chap. The cloak belonged to his employer, and his employer killed him, and here you are claiming the cloak. That's logic, sir." Boomingham draws his sword and drops the cloak. "Now, unless you have some other very convincing explanation, you'll be answering for your crimes. I would like to hear what you have to say, I just wouldn't like any funny business.
Waterbrick Down Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) The man is slightly startled by Boomingham unsheathing his blade, but his fear quickly turns back to his cocky grin. "I will not deny that is not my cloak, but I fail to see how this being my cloak makes me guilty of knocking some chap off? Supposedly this person worked for me, but on whose word are you depending upon that? No, no, this is just one of those unfortunate coincidences, I'm sorry to hear about the little vegetable, but for all we know he might have stolen my cloak from Swisshopper himself. No matter, thankfully this wild goose chase has at least somehow lead to you returning my cloak. Perhaps I can see to it you get a little compensation for your trouble." Edited January 13, 2013 by Waterbrick Down
Zepher Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 "Compensation that doesn't turn to red sand, hopefully? The Harbor Master wanted us to send his regards as well. Or do you deny that as well. You seem to like denying truths. I didn't get your name, by the by. I like to know the name of all the murderers I put down."
Waterbrick Down Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 "J. Smith. Now what's this about the Harbor master? I pay my taxes and payments just like every other ship master, warehouse owner, etc. And of course I'd see you're each payed adequately. How does 100 Gold each sound?"
Fred Daniel Yam Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 "... Your name cannot be John Smith.... Honestly. Come up with a better fake name. And do tell us what you're doing here?"
Waterbrick Down Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 "Why would I be in need of a fake name? And what I do is my own business, I happen to be in scrap metal recycling of sorts."
Sandy Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 "Little vegetable, huh? First you deny you even know Spud, but the fact you are able to give such details about him reveals the truth. And I would never take gold from someone who forges it by magic. But I have a feeling you aren't the mastermind behind this business, Mr. Smith. You look like a henchman to me. Tell us who you are working for, and maybe we'll let you live." Ellaria felt her heart race as she spoke. Where was all this confidence coming from? She made a sideways glance at Lawrence.
Zepher Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 "When it comes down to it, Johnny, I don't think anyone else had a reason to whack off the young fellow. And I don't like your business. So I'm giving you one more chance. You tell me what's happening here, what you do, and who you think killed your assistant, and we know he was your assistant, or I cut off your head. Sing, and sing well."

Zepher Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Boomingham dusts himself off. "Should have killed you when I had the chance. Guess this match is a little more fair. I'm sure you'll still die. Fair is fair. I am champion of the weak. On my long list of accomplishments, you'll just be a footnote." Boomingham nods at his two friends. "Let's let them have it. Ellaria, my beautiful young friend, be careful. We will have great need of you and your healing powers. That being said, if you'd raise that lovely cross bow of your's and give the little dwarf and our friend Johnny a bolt to the head, that'd be lovely. Harkenshire, you've got to set your sights on the beaked menace. Which leaves me to dance with the fur ball and the gold toothed chap." Boomingham turns to them. "You two, know you die an honorless death against an honorable foe. If you feel like running at any point, feel free, but know I'll find you and end you. Because that's the way Olegia spins. The great crush the cowardly and defend the small. It's what we're meant to do. My name is Boomingham, and I'm the champion of greatness." Boomingham swings scupperer at the Pongcanis from the back row. Battle Order Boomingham Ellaria Harkenshire Ellaria

Sensing the Party is going to be in trouble, William activates his Aura stepping in to block a hit by the Sorcerer against Boomingham. Ellaria turns her ferocity against J. Smith and is not cowed by his imposing stare, but is unable to direct her attention to any of the other enemies.
