I like the translucent weapons myself. And to be honest, TLG has been doing it for quite a while. Remember Toa Hordika Vakama's blazer claws? Prime example right there. Likewise, various Glatorian helmets and weapons used the same effect quite nicely.

Mmmm, good parts, those. I still think the flame and emitter handle thing should have been separate parts. I think I'll be re-arming my figures with custom built artillery anyway, a la the bulked up cannons the antagonists have in sets 70002, 3, and 5.

Yeah, I totally expected Laval as well. Then again, griffons have eagle heads..

I wonder about the other 2. Depends on how they combine the characters' features.. But Gorzan with wings and Razar's head would be cool, I can deny that.

All of the Constraction figures are available on Toys R Us' website. Only Worriz and Cragger aren't marked up. This means Lego will be getting them soon, so if you can be patient, I'd wait so as not to feed those thieves that the world calls the "biggest toy store."

nice one! can we expect more review of chima buildable figures from you?

I'll most likely get Cragger one day, but I'm not so sure about the other guys since they don't appeal that much to me.

It's kind of surprising that the combiner is a "super-Eris" in stead of a "super-Laval". After all, Laval is pretty much the main character.

You'll be pleased to know that there are actually six combiners, although still with three pairings of sets. Each character advertises a super version of themselves, using the complementary set for booster parts. It'll be interesting to see whether they address the combiners in the story, since they don't seem to suggest a shared consciousness as Bionicle Kaita did.

I doubt they will. I wouldn't rule it out completely, but given how little significance the larger versions of the characters have had in the story so far (that is to say, little more than a momentary visual effect), there's not much room for adding yet another layer of "powering up" in-story. Chances are the combined versions of the characters are meant to represent little more than the base character in another, more powerful suit of armor, just like the Super Heroes and Hero Factory combi models.

I highly doubt it; only a few combiners in Bionicle were ever incorporated into the story, and only one (Lucas Valor, and as the most minor of minor characters) in HF.

six combiner huh? that's pretty interesting. the one that interest me the most are "Super-Worriz" and Super-Razar". "super-Worriz" because i wamt to know how a combination of Worriz and Cragger's colors would turn out. "Super-Razar" because, well, doesn't a combination of crow and gorilla instanly makes you thing about a muscular crow-man?

No. Flying monkey. Like from Wizard of Oz.

Chalk me up for being curious about the other combiners we haven't seen as well.

Gorzan's arm attachment works and is much sturdier than I thought. I excepted a larger back armour, like another 2.0 torso plate or a shoulder shell, but I wonder which is the biggest shell that would fit.

The overall set looks great, too. I'm getting him for parts, but he's pleasing to the eye and I might get some MOCing ideas from him.

Totally Didn't expect that kind of back build. Also didn't expect back armor. As for the combiner I have to say this http://4.bp.blogspot...s_Oz_Medium.JPG

Well yeah, a flying gorilla was pretty much to be expected from the set description, and I immediately thought of that as well.

The only thing that now prevents me from going after Gorzan is the colour of his chest armour. If it would be black instead of gold, I would already own him. But right now I have no idea what I could do with such a huge piece in a colour I don't use that often for MOCs.

But aside from that, he looks really great.

Unlike in the minifigs (where things are spiced up a bit, ie Rawzom), for the Ultrabuilds Lego seemed rather adamant on making a clear division in the armour colours between heroes and villains: good guys wear gold (yes, Laval is fully gold, but has some decorations on his accessories too) and villains wear titanium metallic.

That's why Gorzan's chest is gold. It was actually titanium metallic (or silver, it was hard to tell) in the prototype.. I have a MOC idea built around the gold chest, but the prototype would've been more useful (grayscale=more versatile, of course).

i'm not really into minifigures, but i agree with that guy's suggestion about giving a minifigure with the ultrabuilds. i think it's kind of cool. i can make a scene where mini Gorzan goes "power up" and turn into big Gorzan.

If you use the tags, you get the video right here in the topic. I think you're also supposed to put video reviews in the main topic.

Anyway, thanks for the link!

I like that idea, hope it gets added to next year hero sets
