Amset-Rah Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Went to my local Wally World today, and nothing. I guess mine's totally against blind bags since the series 5 incident (And the fact they perhaps didn't sell). I have yet to visit TRU, but I'll report back when I do. Quote
SirBlake Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Series 9 is now at the LEGO store in Downtown Disney, Florida! Anyone in vacation at Disney World right about now? Was there yesterday, hoping to get my hands on these and the (very nice) guy working there said that they had sold out of them 3 separate times. They may be getting more today, but alas, I'm flying back to Texas this morning. Good luck, y'all. Quote
CircleK Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Went to my local Wally World today, and nothing. I guess mine's totally against blind bags since the series 5 incident (And the fact they perhaps didn't sell). What was the "series 5 incident"? I've had zero luck in my area so far. I've been checking two separate TRU stores, Kmart, Meijer, Target, and Wally World for the past couple of weeks but have come up short each time. I am really excited about this series though and my impatience is starting to get the best of me. I'm thinking about rolling the dice and ordering a random 16 from shop@home. I think I will be ok b/c I mostly want multiples of the more common figures (cyclops, alien, and knight). I really don't care about the lesser available figures like the roller derby girl, waiter, or plumber. I actually think ordering them that way will be kind of fun. I normally feel them out so I know exactly what I'm getting. It's a far better use of money, but it does take some of the fun out of it... Worse case - I sell whatever I get that I don't want. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Still have yet to see any in Southwest Nebraska, USA. I haven't checked TRU (I'm sure they have them), but it is so far out of my way I rarely go there, let alone the mark-up. But I noticed they don't have any previous series really at my Targets or Wal-Marts either. I'm sure Christmas cleaned them out for that. But as far as I can tell the LEGO aisle is pretty sad so far. Everything is cluttered without any pricing. So who knows when they'll actually get 2013 sets in, let alone the CMFs. Quote
CircleK Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Just noticed that series 9 is now listed on the Toys-R-Us site as In-Store only for $2.99. Quote
Amset-Rah Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 What was the "series 5 incident"? My local Walmart had a bunch of series 5 minifig packs opened and pieces taken out. I'd say a good 1/4th of the stock they had was tampered. Quote
JeagerEX Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) Just noticed that series 9 is now listed on the Toys-R-Us site as In-Store only for $2.99. Now finally TRU is already in-stock now, soon I'll go to my local TRU and check if they have it already. Then I'll buy the Plumber, Roman Emperor and the Waiter. Next time is the Alien Avenger, Chicken Suit Guy and the Cyclops. Since before TRU have in-stock at stores, I already got the Battle Mech, Forest Maiden, Heroic Knight, Hollywood Starlet, Mermaid, Mr. Good and Evil and the Roller Derby Girl then I already bought the Fortune Teller and the Judge online at bricklink. My local Walmart had a bunch of series 5 minifig packs opened and pieces taken out. I'd say a good 1/4th of the stock they had was tampered. Which Series 5 minifigs that you saw when their packs are opened? Last time when I went to Frys Electronics, I saw some series 5 minifig packs and feel them, but the only figs that I felt is the ff: 1. Zookeeper 2. Small Clown 3. Fitness Instructor 4. Detective 5. Lumberjack Edited January 8, 2013 by JeagerEX Quote
Amset-Rah Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Which Series 5 minifigs that you saw when their packs are opened? I mainly remember the snowboarder being the major one that I saw, but I saw a few other bits and bobs (Fitness woman's boombox, Cleopatra's dress, evil dwarf's head) in the fray. Luckily I have all the figs except the guard and dino man, so it wasn't a huge problem personally, but it sucks because it seems like my Walmart deliberately doesn't carry the CMFs anymore. (They had a brief stint of series 6, but I only got sleepy head and two Highlanders), at least in the Lego aisle. I recall also seeing an open series 7 pack containing the space marine, and it doesn't stop there (The Monster Fighters Frankenstein set was also open right on the shelf, and was the last one left.) JeagerEX Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Just noticed that series 9 is now listed on the Toys-R-Us site as In-Store only for $2.99. It is available at stores only, but not available online? Quote
Tytus Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) It is available at stores only, but not available online? Right. You can call the store and give them any of those product numbers listed, and they will be able to tell you if they or any other local TRUs have them, though. Mine currently does not, but they have a truck coming Thursday, which may or may not have them. Edited January 9, 2013 by Tytus Quote

Mine currently does not, but they have a truck coming Thursday, which may or may not have them. I hope they may have it in my local Toys R US, since when all my local stores does not have them. I bought some Series 9 online, but anyways there's a mistake in my order. I ordered a Roller Derby Girl, but suddenly when I verified it they gave me a Plumber instead. Now I ordered a Fortune Teller and a Judge and I hope they will not gave me a wrong minifigure. Quote
Joebot Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I picked up a full set of Series 9 at the Lego Store in Schaumburg, Illinois yesterday. I think the chicken suit guy is my favorite. He's just so goofy and fun. As an aside, the employees at that Lego Store are the best. One employee hooked me up with a checklist and a marker so I could cross off the figures as I found them. He gave me a cup to store my figures in. AND, he grabbed a handful of bags and started feeling them as he was walking around the store helping other customers. Every once in a while, he'd shout out stuff like, "Found the knight. You got him yet?" Then when he got busy with a customer, one of the other employees stepped in and started feeling bags to help me find my last few remaining figures. THAT is good customer service!! Quote
Wardancer Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Sighted in GERMANY. In Giessen. I managed to get 4 forest ladies out of 3 boxes. First I felt them, then I went by dot code. It sucks that there are only 2 in a box. Quote

TrumpetKing Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Dot codes have been around since Series 3 Quote
Tytus Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I feel like it would be more efficient just to feel for the dress piece. Might be a bit difficult to differentiate from the Gypsy though. Quote
mo123567 Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 I feel like it would be more efficient just to feel for the dress piece. Might be a bit difficult to differentiate from the Gypsy though. 1st find the dress piece then find the rubbery hair. Quote
JeagerEX Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Since my local stores don't have any Series 9 Minifigs. I just order some online at bricklink or ebay so I can get my favorite ones. Quote
ACPin Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 They're here at the Lego store in Bridgewater Mall ! AC Quote
mo123567 Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 They're here at the Lego store in Bridgewater Mall ! AC Wow, your Lego store has them arranged so nicely. I would feel bad going through them all and messing up their display. My store just dumps them in the bin. I even got to dump a box in myself when I asked them to bring a fresh box out for me to go through, Very helpful employees at the Lego store. I did find a chicken guy for one of the employees as a thank you. Quote

Dervish Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Finally in stores in Finland. Atleast Prismas seem to have them for 2,40 eur per bag if I remember right. Quote
JeagerEX Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) Yeah that's what I did myself. Even though the Forest Maiden is damn expensive. Not only the Forest Maiden, but the Roller Derby Girl is bit expensive too. Most of the rare minifigures are expensive online. Edited January 12, 2013 by JeagerEX Quote
Wardancer Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) Dot codes have been around since Series 3 Yeah, but nowadays each box may have their own set of codes. So feel first, then identify the code and you can be sure that inside the same box or even the same show codes will be the same. To differenciate the maiden from the gypsy, you can also look for bow or shield. Or the other way around, as soon as you realise the tarot cards or the non bendable hair you can go on. I bought four more maidens today. Accidentally I bought a policeman because I mistook his bendable handcuffs for the maidens hair. Should have checked for the skirt better. PS: Now many sores have them in Germany. I have seen small and big boxes. Edited January 12, 2013 by Wardancer Quote
Tytus Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) Alright, distribution in the US blows right now. I suppose we can expect them to start showing up in TRU soon since they're listed online, but sheesh... not even Kmart, Target, or 5 Below yet. Especially for someone who lives in western PA. There's not a LEGO store anywhere close to here. Edited January 12, 2013 by Tytus Quote
