AKM_76 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 (edited) Don't understand me so directly. I love Technic style. I mean 9395 or 9397 are logically smooth enough, 8070 = gaps. ...though my previous example with Ferrari's is better. Edited April 28, 2013 by AKM_76 Quote
Lipko Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 Thanks for bumping :) AKM, don't you like Crowkiller's models either? http://www.crowkillers.com/model.php?model=vampire-gt Quote
AKM_76 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 (edited) Believe me I don't want to look like an idiot here, I just share my opinion with you. I swear I like you and totally respect what you are doing :) And yes, same criticism goes to Crowkiller's cars either, though I spend lots of time studying yours websites, Youtube pages, etc. May I say that I like very much yours cars, but hope to see something more close to my taste. Currently I can't imagine myself doing anything similar, my skills is too far from that :) ...more correctly to say is not that I don't like them (sure I like them, since I'm a Lego geek), I just want them to be more smooth looking. ...sportcars are just crying for sleekness, and it seems to be just impossible to do a) in Lego Technic and b) in such a big scale. All that trucks and backhoes are much more forgiving for such cases. Edited April 28, 2013 by AKM_76 Quote
Lipko Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 Criticism is welcome, it's good to see here other opinions than hyping You stated your opinion, not as an absolute truth. I asked about Crowkiller's models to know your preference. You have the same criticism about his cars, it's enough for me. Your preference is different than mine, because I like the style that I'm building, I hope I can reach Crowkiller's level some time (I could mention many other builders, but he is an obvious example). Gaps are unrealistic but well placed gaps can add much to the design and a Lego model can actually be more interesting than I real car. I personally don't care about real cars at all. And don't care about Model Team style or every-hole-is-filled-whit-whatever style either. So it's just a matter of taste. Quote

Meatman Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I respect a model that looks great using moderate usage of technic parts/panels than I do one that has random parts used as filler or system blocks. Once you start using too many parts and regular system bricks(which also add weight) the model isn't recognizable as "Technic" anymore. I love seeing original ways that builders come up with using the new panels. Of course this is just my opinion. Quote
