July 24, 201212 yr While I doubt it'll happen, a Civil War type deal would be an interesting plot for Avengers 2, though it probably won't a big impact with just 6 superheroes so far (not counting Ant-Man). Nothing is certain, but the general rumor is that Civil War would be an Avengers 3 plot. They have to be careful about "earth-destroying" plots, since they lose their weight if they keep occuring. Civil War would be a solid balance to the first one, and the cosmic-themed second, plus it's more plausible after the number of super-humans in the Marvel universe has increased. As well, there was no need to make Maria Hill a character in the first movie, except as a set up for a future movie making use of her. I'm sure they're mapping out movie plots up to the 2020's.
July 24, 201212 yr It would be cool to have Spidey join make an appearance in the Avengers sequel (even as a one-time "I'll help you this time" thing). "Everybody gets one" I hope Spidderman isn't in the Avengers films. I don't think they'd fit 'film wise' without a lot of plot holes. I assuming that ASM takes place after the Avengers?
July 24, 201212 yr Author I would like some X-Men to make an appearance in Avengers 2, especially Wolverine. But I think when it comes to it the only characters that will be added is Ant-Man and Black Panther.

But I think when it comes to it the only characters that will be added is Ant-Man and Black Panther. Why? There's been no indication of Black Panther anything. They could introduce him in Avengers 2, since they basically introduced Hawkeye in Avengers, but I'm not so sure. If they just add and add characters it will get messy, they'd need to take some of the other characters out of commission for the movie to add too many new ones. Also, wouldn't Guardians of the Galaxy factor in somewhere, since they're having their own film as part of phase 2?

A Black Panther movie has been rumoured for years now, being a popular character I could easily see him being in the Avengers 2, also he ties in with the X-Men. Here's a link to a website who say they have "Trusted sources" about the subject Here Also, I'm not sure whether GOTG ties in with the Avengers ,though it does have something to do with Thanos. Whom was in Avengers Assemble
July 24, 201212 yr GOTG have a real good tie in with the Avengers. The Guardians are pretty much the space/alien version of the Avengers. In comics they have teamed up before to take on larger than life villains, such as Thanos I could see them introducing Thanos and his story in GOTG, since he really is a deep and complicated character, and then having some big disaster at the end and having the Guardians realize that they are going to need more help to stop him. Also that link is over a month old, so if it was true I think they would have announced Black Panther at SDCC. I could see them introducing him in a small way in either Ant-Man, Captain America 2, or just the Avengers 2 but there is really nothing as of yet that points to Panther being included. I hope he is though because that would be one sweet minifig Edited July 24, 201212 yr by Spider-Man
July 24, 201212 yr Spidey would be great in the next Avengers movie! The only reason I could see Sony not wanting to do it would be that they would somehow have to incorporate it into Amazing Spider-Man 2. They can't just have Garfield show up and not explain it at all in the Spidey movie. I don't think that would be much of a problem with how much money they could potentially make with beefing up Avengers 2 with even more heroes! Well that would be nice, but that means that since sony and Disney can "team up", disney/marvel might never get back the spiderman rights. I assuming that ASM takes place after the Avengers? Well, rit know, they are in different universes. I would like some X-Men to make an appearance in Avengers 2, especially Wolverine. But I think when it comes to it the only characters that will be added is Ant-Man and Black Panther. Well, xmen movies rights are owned by fox, not Sony.
July 24, 201212 yr Author Well, xmen movies rights are owned by fox, not Sony. Yeah I know. But there's a chance, Fox and Sony MAY team up, who knows? I personally wish that Marvel just kept all it's rights to itself, this whole thing about which company has the rights to what characters has became tedious now.
July 24, 201212 yr I dont know if anyone's aware of this but Sony announced recently a remake of the Fantastic 4.
July 24, 201212 yr So is Chris Evans going to be playing Johnny Storm again? Funny, but no. Even if he want playing captain America, for a reboot they use different actors. And that isn't really part of the MCU.
July 24, 201212 yr What do you guys think are the chances of a Black Widow-Hawkeye solo movie before Avengers 2?
July 24, 201212 yr Author What do you guys think are the chances of a Black Widow-Hawkeye solo movie before Avengers 2? I don't think they're popular enough to get their own movie.
July 24, 201212 yr I don't think they're popular enough to get their own movie. Yeah... plus, Marvel kinda have their hands full right now with Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and possibly Black Panther, all before Avengers 2. I really don't think there's space for anything else.

In fact, that's what almost ruined Iron Man 2. Things are already pointing to Ant Man, Wasp, Falcon, and the Guardians to be in the movie. Isn't that enough? Besides, ASM isn't part of the MCU, so it would be rather awkward to shoe horn it into it. That said, I don't see why Spidey couldn't be introduced in a future Avengers movie (should Marvel get the rights back). They pulled it off quite nicely in the latest episode of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. GOTG have a real good tie in with the Avengers. Yes, I think introducing Thanos is the main reason why they are making the GotG movie, but I doubt that they would end the movie on a "We're doomed" note. It makes more sense if they did it like they did with Loki by having Thanos defeated, but leaving the possibility of his return open, and introducing the "disaster" in Avengers 2. And I agree about Black Panther. He would need his own movie first to be in the Avengers, but that doesn't seem to happen anytime soon.

Hopefully they help as minor supporting characters in Captain America or Iron Man 3.
July 24, 201212 yr Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Falcon is confirmed to appear in Captain America 2!. He has deep roots with captain America, even his superhero origin! This means; 1- He will probaly be in Avengers 2. 2- We will probaly get a Falcon minfigure! Can't wait to see all the promotional soda cans for Avengers 2!
July 25, 201212 yr I disagree. More characters does not mean more money. In fact, that's what almost ruined Iron Man 2. Maybe I am a little biased about Spidey being included in the next movie, but your probably right that he could wait a little while. And I do admit it slipped my mind that ASM is in a completely different universe I guess what I would most like to see is maybe in Avengers 3 (if it even goes that far) is maybe handing down some off the roles and making it sort of a "New Avengers" movie with Spidey, Thing, Wolvering, Ms. Marvel, Luke Cage, etc. (hoping that Marvel can buy back some of their licenses in the next 10 years). RDJ has already hinted at ending his role as Iron Man and I don't think anybody can really replace him since he fits Tony Stark so perfectly, so maybe it would be good to bring in a whole new cast of Avengers and have a movie of them having to learn how to work together as a team and be excepted as the New Avengers? And also on Thanos, I think it will play out more that the GotG are trying to stop from him completing the Infinity Gauntlet and seemingly defeat him, but then in the end he does complete it and the Guardians realize they are going to need more help to defeat him. Thanos is just too strong of a character to show him defeated and then brought back somehow to face even more superheroes, I think it weakens his character in a way. I am pretty sure that in someway Thanos will be looking for the Infinity Gauntlet considering they gave it a cameo in the first Thor movie, so maybe Thor 2 will give us a little sneak peak after the credits of how Thanos plans on taking it back?

Well RDJ has signed for the 3 Iron Man movies and 3 Avengers. They can always sign more too. If it makes money, they will make it. Personally, I exicited for Captain America 2 . I don't think 'whole new cast' would be good; they should at least keep some of the original movie ones on; eg. Captain America as the leader of the Avengers. Mark Ruffalo has like 6 pictures left under his contract, so I don't think he's going anywhere in the long term.
July 25, 201212 yr Well Cap still is in the New Avengers comics so I think he would stay for sure. The only real issue is with RDJ saying he might not sign on to do more movies than he is already doing. Hulk on the other hand is going to be interesting because in the comics Hulk gets kicked out of the Avenger's and has a real crazy storyline. I wonder if they will stay true to the comics or sort of create a new storyline since Ruffalo did such an amazing job?
July 25, 201212 yr Well RDJ has signed for the 3 Iron Man movies and 3 Avengers. They can always sign more too. If it makes money, they will make it. Actually, he is only signed for 4 Marvel movies: 3 Iron Mans and 1 Avengers (as it turned out). He may re-up, but he may not. He's a person, and an actor, and may wish to pursue other creative opportunities. He'll fetch a huge amount of money no matter what. Kevin Feige said that he sees them not rebooting but simply finding a new actor to continue the character (which already happened with Rhodes anyway).
July 25, 201212 yr Kevin Feige said that he sees them not rebooting but simply finding a new actor to continue the character (which already happened with Rhodes anyway). That just seems like such an impossible concept to me. RDJ is Tony Stark. Period.
July 25, 201212 yr That just seems like such an impossible concept to me. RDJ is Tony Stark. Period. I very much agree, but I think I would prefer them to keep going rather than to do a reboot so that Iron Man can stay in the MCU and so that we don't have to sit through his origin story again like we did with Spidey. I guess they can always cast his lookalike Johnny Depp.
