Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 http://i.newsarama.com/images/i/000/112/082/original/yondu-1.png?1377287821 I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but this is an image of Yondu as he is to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy (I believe the picture is taken from one of the film sets). Does anyone know anything about Yondu, because I really don't, so I don't know what will make him relevant or anything else to do with the character. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Yondu is a Guardian and is said to play a large role in the film. Though I'm not sure if he'll be a Guardian in the film, he has been in past comics. Quote

If he is indeed going to play a large role in the film and be a Guardian, I'm curious as to why he wasn't shown in the concept art from SDCC with the other Guardians. And if he isn't a Guardian, I wonder what his role (however large) will end up being. Quote

Dr Leg O Brick Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 He was an original member of the Guardians, native to Centauri IV, he carries a golden bow and arrow, made of yaka, a metal native to his home planet. The arrows he shoots can change direction in response to high octave whistle sounds made by him. He is skilled in hand to hand combat, hunting, and tracking. Speaking English hurts his throat, as Centaurians speak in clicks, grunts and whistles. On Earth 616, like the other Guardians, he is an honorary Avenger. More info on him, the 691 version a least, from Marvel Wikipedia: http://marvel.wikia.com/Yondu_Udonta_(Earth-691) Quote
Ultron Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 That was an amazing trailer. I'm so excited. AHHH be April already!! Quote
Darth Lurtz Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 It looks promising, but I had similar thoughts for Iron Man 3 before I saw that movie. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I loved Iron Man 3, personally. I'll never quite understand all the hate for that movie (most of which is derived from the Mandarin twist. It was a ballsy move, but it really worked for me. As a True Believer, though, I can understand why some would hate it). The Winter Soldier, however, has always been my most anticipated film of Phase 2. The new trailer does not disappoint!!! Quote
The Legonater Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I legitimately enjoyed Iron Man 3. The only thing that annoyed me about the Mandarin was that the rings weren't used. Also, I'm a little saddened the GotG trailer got pulled from the Super Bowl mix, but that Cap trailer is pretty sick. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Also, I'm a little saddened the GotG trailer got pulled from the Super Bowl mix, but that Cap trailer is pretty sick. I think we're all saddened and somewhat frustrated at the lack of GotG footage, but the lack of a trailer at this stage is semi-understandable. If we look at the Phase 2 trailers so far, the trailer for the next film in the phase usually comes a week or so before the film it follows on from (e.g. our first trailer for The Winter Soldier came out a week or two before Thor: The Dark World). If this current pattern continues, then the earliest we could expect a GotG trailer is mid-March. Obviously I hope for us to get a trailer beforehand, but I doubt Marvel will do that and pull hype away from The Winter Soldier. It wouldn't make sense from a marketing point of view. And you are definitely right about the latest trailer for The Winter Soldier; it is absolutely amazing. I can't wait for it to come out at the end of March (thank you slightly early UK release date). BrickG Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 After seeing the terribleness of the GotGish thing at the end of Thor maybe they held it back because the movie sucks just as bad as that did? ;p Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Wow. I dint think it was posiable to get MORE excited for this movie! But I just did! Quote
Ultron Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 After seeing the terribleness of the GotGish thing at the end of Thor maybe they held it back because the movie sucks just as bad as that did? ;p It wasn't terrible, it just didn't have the same tone as Thor 2 did. I personally liked it. The collector kind of intrigued me and I'd like to see his character some more. Not to mention my dad liked it because he is quite fond of Benicio Del Toro. I also highly doubt the movie is going to suck because there are a lot of great actors in it. Hopefully the plot holds up as well. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Not sure if anyone was interested, but here is a new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Quote
Mr Man Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Not sure if anyone was interested, but here is a new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. That looks great, I'm not too sure about Electros motives. But it's looking like a fun film. Quote
Tanma Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Has anyone seen the new marvel short yet? From what I hear There is a real Mandarin, not Killian or Trevor I mean. A secret ruler of the Ten Rings. Anyone know if it is true? Quote
Haltiamieli Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Anyone know if it is true? Yes, that is implied: "There's somebody who wants to meet you." "Do I know him?" "No... but you took his name. And now he wants it back." Quote
Ultron Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Yes, that is implied: "There's somebody who wants to meet you." "Do I know him?" "No... but you took his name. And now he wants it back." Wait, where did you get that line from? Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Just watched it as well --- AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
The Legonater Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Yes, that is implied: "There's somebody who wants to meet you." "Do I know him?" "No... but you took his name. And now he wants it back." I'm not surprised. I was fine with the twist, but a lot of people weren't, and it makes sense that MARVEL wants to do damage control. My fear is it's going to become too convoluted. I'm also a little worried that they're revealing this information via shorts - I know a lot of people who don't buy Blu-Rays. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Yes, that is implied: "There's somebody who wants to meet you." "Do I know him?" "No... but you took his name. And now he wants it back." OMIGOSH YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS iron man 3 is so much better now. Quote
The Legonater Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Another better episode of Agents of Shield today. Deathlok was pretty sick, and the animation with him was pretty impressive. Kind of interested in where Skye's thing is going. Quote

Kind of interested in where Skye's thing is going. It was quite good. I just hope they add metal plates to deathlok to cover up his nasty burn-marked face. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Excellent episode! I was very surprised with the Skye twist at the end. I wish Mike aka Deathlok was a bit more mechanical as well, but maybe he'll have some more additions as the series goes on. Can't wait for the rest of the season! Quote
