To be honest, I've always found Kang kind of lame. :sceptic: I imagine he'd be a very difficult character to get into a movie seeing as how he has history with both the F4 and the Avengers. He first appeared in a F4 issue but didn't technically appear as "Kang" until the Avengers. Maybe they could, but they're probably some sort of dispute. I'd rather see the Skrull, but they're almost definitely owned by Fox :sadnew::thumbdown:

When i think of Kamg this is what comes to mind. Kind of BA.

What if he allready posses the time gem and has been using it with out knowing what is? If Lokis scepter is connected with the mind gem then I would think it's the glowy part near the blade. Oh well, GoTG will be out in a month!

There is no way they could interduced the Skrull with out starting the events of the secret invasion

I don't think the Sceptre is the Mind Gem itself, since Thanos gave it to Loki, and I doubt he would give up a gem he already owned. That's why I think the Sceptre is the equal of the Hydra Weapons or the Kursed; empowered by a stone, but not actually a stone.

Oh, Kang. I really hope they can use him, but his real name is Nathaniel Richards, and he's thus connected to the Fantastic Four. Now in the Ultimate universe Kang has a different origin, but even then her name is Susan Storm. So I'm not sure they could use Kang without brushing up against Fox.

Of course, Marvel and Fox split Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, so maybe they can do that with Kang.

I think they could probably split him, especially as he becomes Iron Lad and part of the Young Avengers.

I don't know. I can easily see Thanos putting one gem in play for the strategy of shaking loose or gaining another. He plays a long game. And I suspect that he already holds the reality gem, so what happens to the other 5 are superfluous so long as he knows where to find them when he needs them. Remember Avengers was not about Thanos seeking to collect the Cube. He apparently knew where it was. Loki could have grabbed it and ran. Thanos was seeking to use the Cube for a purpose. Ideally if written properly Thanos is not Cobra Commander. It's not a fast scavenger hunt to recover the pieces for the weather machine right away. Thanos is wheels within wheels within wheels.

Oh and for those that missed it, a new extended trailer for GotG. This one is awesome as it gives pretty much the full back stories of all of the main cast. Plus lots of chatty Racoon goodness.

In a word AWESOME! Is anyone else getting the impression that for a movie based on a very obscure Marvel comic series, this one appears to have more direct Marvel Universe comic references than all of the previous movies combined?

(Oh and apparently Marvel must be thinking so as well. They've already green lit GotG 2, given it to ?James Gunn to direct, and apparently made it a core tent pole for Phase 3, being the main transition between Avengers 2 and 3. Not bad from a comic book no one had ever heard of, directed by a guy who used to work for Troma!)

By now, having seen first hand how fairly obscure directors and properties having be churning out great movies, I think we need to give the ant-man director the benefit of the doubt!

Yeah, I admit I am no expert on Thanos. I mean I know he stalks Death and tends to be after the Infinity Gems, but everyone knows that. I was not really aware of him as a "Chessmaster," but since I really have never read a comic with him in it that makes sense.

Man why did they have to cancel GI Joe Renegades.

Marvel Studios Hopes For "One Sequel, One New Character" Per Year.

I feel like this makes a lot of sense. It allows a sense of continuity over the MCU without becoming to redundant with old characters and not too slow with a ton of new characters. With Phase 3 being (at this point looking like) Ant-Man, Cap 3, Thor 3, Doctor Strange, Guardians 2, and an unknown film, we can definitely expect that to be a new character like Ms Marvel or Black Panther (I don't know how in doubt that was, but I've seen lots of rumors about Iron Man 4 on the web too).

I'm guessing that they'll do Ms Marvel, seeing as that could be another franchise set in the Marvel Cosmic along with GotG. I'd like both, but I doubt that Avengers 3 could be November of 2018 to make room for both.

I kind of think Black Panther would work better as an introduction in someone else's movie. IM4 or something. That way you can cut right to T'Challa's action. Because I just can't see any way that his actual full origin and backstory doesn't end up looking pretty much exactly like Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall's "Comming to America".

I feel like the best intro for Black Panther would be in a FF movie since he works with them a ton in the comics. Unfortunately, they're owned by someone else. :sceptic:

He could be introduced in Avengers 3 and then given his own film, but they already probably have a big roster for Avengers 3 if the Guardians may come to help fight Thanos.

I find it weird that they're pushing Spidey 3 back two full years. :sceptic: Gives them time to do it right, but I'd prefer that over the Sinister 6 film. :sadnew:

Was Thanos confirmed as villain for Avengers 3? I know Guardians was leading up to A3 in a big way.

I don't know if it's ever been confirmed, but seeing as they've announced a big actor as him for a small role in GotG, I'm guessing he'll be in GotG 2 and/or Avengers 3.

Beat ya to it a page or two ago  I missed the May one for 2017 though. Edit: And they also JUST announced another release date for May 4, 2018. Interesting to see if DC will avoid these dates or not when they most likely give us their lineup at Comic con.

I like seeing new movies every six months, but I can live with them in the summer months too.

3 movies a year does seem like a lot, but I'm not really complaining. I'll be entertained all year! Hopefully it doesn't get too difficult to see them though.

Difficult? How so?

Well I'll be nearing the end of my College education by 2017 and 2018, so I'm hoping it doesn't make me too busy! Although I suppose there is always time for Marvel :sweet:
