He has talent and he's one of my favorite actors. I'll admit he's not my top choice but there's no doubt in my mind he can pull this off.

Also:

Krysten Ritter has been cast as Jessica Jones

Hey everyone!

So I was thinking, in Age of Ultron, Ultron is going to attack the whole globe. We're going to see military's responding, and we're going to definitely see some long term affects from this one movie, which will span the whole of the MCU as we know it. How could this affect Agents of SHIELD? Will we see SHIELD in AOU, as surely, that would make sense?

Please try not to reply with Spoilers, as I am only up to E06 here in the UK, of AOS S2.

Cheers! :classic:

I imagine Ultron will be too big for SHIELD to contend with. We'll see the fallout, maybe, but I think they might be pushing to have the season wrap up before AOU happens, and then reference it next season.

Posted

I believe it will be handled the same way Captain America the Winter Soldier was, we see all its repercussions and it is referenced, but the series will also explain where it was and what it was doing when all the events of AOU go down . Coulson might be featured as he is now the director but I think Nick Fury will reprise his position as Director.

Interesting thoughts guys! :classic: Do we reckon the Avengers will ever learn Coulson isn't dead?

I think there is no excuse for them not knowing ATM, it's not as though Coulson has a particular reason for remaining dead to them any more. He dosn't even have to tell them in person, Hill knows and she could tell Stark, Sif knows and she could tell Thor, Fury knows and could have told Steve and Natasha, I'm not sure where Banner is now, but if he is hanging about in Stark Industry then Hill could tell him as well. And who cares is Barton knows anyway .

As for the fallout from AoU, it seems likly that SHIELD will be allowed to come out of the shadows and into the light () providing they at least help, plus they are likely to take out Struker in AoU and Whitehall in AoS, which will mean the end for HYDRA for the foreseeable future. Also Fury would be a bit of a dick to replace Coulson now.

Good points dude! Here's hoping we do get more SHIELD presence in the films again. I love AOS, and just really hope for more film ties in the future. SHIELD will definitely be picking up the pieces after AOU I reckon. And agreed - Coulson should stay director now. Unless his 'condition' get's worse...

Is Agents of SHIELD even confirmed for a third season? I know Tuesday's episode is being advertised as the season finale...

Not sure. I know we have something like 5, 6 episodes till the finale here in the UK. :classic:

EDIT: After a little research, it sounds as if it's the Mid-Season finale for you guys in the states, and ABC are splitting the show in Half, giving them time to air Agent Carter during the break.

Yes mid-season finale. Pretty common for TV shows these days.

Ah, thanks! That makes sense, sorry for the confusion!

It's possible that there will be some as B.J. Britt (Agent Triplett) was on the set.

I've been watching it online, it's really the only way to avoid spoilers. The only time I watched it live was in the run up to Winter Solider, considering we got it earlier than the US so the series and film lined up perfectly.

That's the general consensus, tho having it located under Puerto Rico is a bit weird. Could be it's some pre-Attilan Kree city established on Earth ages ago and abandoned. In any case, they've done about all but say the name "Inhuman" now... And using the term doesn't need to be saved for the movie, as the movie will likely focus on the "royal family", which don't necessarily even have to appear in AoS for Inhumans to be introduced. But I will be overjoyed if a certain giant teleporting bulldog makes an appearance. Marvel gave us a taking raccoon with a machine gun and a dancing Entling, and made the general audiences love them, so Lockjaw should be no problem.

AoS Midseason finale was so awesome!!!

Skye is TOTALLY based on Daisy Johnson. Her Dad is therefore then Mister Hyde aka Calvin Zabo. He even said that his name was Cal. It all fits!! I wonder if she'll have the seismic powers that she does in the comics or if she'll have new ones. Any speculation as to who Reina could be based on? She had glowing eyes and what looked like spikes underneath her eyes. I'm so sad Tripp died :cry_sad: I really liked him! Mac should've been the one to die!!! I'm not convinced Whitehall is dead. He hasn't even become "the kraken" yet. Why use him if you're not gonna give him the cool helmet!? Also, who was the eye-less dude at the end?! Freaky!

Agreed.

I'm not fully convinced Tripp is dead, wasn't his actor seen on the AoU set? Still, if he is dead at least he had better closure than Mac did. Whitehall definitely died too easy. As for Skye as Daisy, it makes sense - her father even name-dropped her as 'Daisy' - I'm not familiar with the characters, but a quick search seems pretty bang-on accurate.

The eye-less dude seems to be a low-key Inhuman known as the Reader. Cool to see where they go from here with this arc.

I agree theres no way that Whitehall is dead he's to big of a character. As to who Raina is, some people were thinking that she was a hero in the comics named Tigra, kinda like the Cheetah from DC only the Marvel version, but I disagree seeing how she had spikes/spines coming off of her face and Tigra has stripes. Honestly at this point because we've seen so little of her transformed self who she is from the comics is anyones guess. Maybe the shows creators came up with someone new. Probably not though .

It's been confirmed the AOU will tie into AOS in a big way but not as big as CA:WS last year since that basically changed the entirety of the show, in a good way of course.

New trailer is out:

Honestly, I wasn't that excited about this one like I have been when other Marvel trailers came out. The serious tone seems unfitting, if you ask me. But we'll see, Marvel has proven me wrong before.

I was very worried about the Ant-Man film, this trailer does make me want to see it for sure, my biggest fear is how they handle the powers, I really hope it doesn't come across cheesy.

Posted

Couple things about the trailer that intrigue/worry me. For starters, Michael Douglas already looks fantastic in this. I, for one, was unable to take my eyes off of him during his parts in the trailer. I think the powers can be handled well, but they can also be handled poorly. When he first shrinks down, I think it looks great. Riding the giant ant, well... I feel like it will fit once the final film comes out, but I find it hard to take this in as a serious movie when he's riding around on that thing for half the trailer.

Posted

Yeah, I was expecting more. As someone who was already excited to see it this doesn't change much, but I don't expect it to sway the opinion of those who dislike the idea either. The past few reveal trailers have all left an impact, this one didn't leave much at all. I was hoping for at least something like the test footage to convince those who would scoff at the concept, but all we got was Scott on an ant.

I think it looks great. But they definitely should've showed more of his powers. And I really liked him flying on the ant, not gonna lie

Over on the 2015 set rumor thread I have seen the word "underwhelming" used a lot to describe the Ant-Man trailer. I personally thought it was pretty good, but perhaps not great. It worked as a teaser, though, because I definitely want to see a real trailer now.

The characters all looked good, particularly Hank (although the normally slightly gravelly-voiced Michael Douglas seemed to be doing a Christian Bale impersonation at times). It just wasn't as epic or explosive or impressive as other CBM trailers.

My guess for that is that Marvel is wisely trying to undersell Ant-Man a bit. Since it is their most plagued production, with the Edgar Wright fall-out and such--and that without Wright they might never have slated Ant-Man for his own film at all--they may be trying to be a little more modest about it, rather than hyping it up to the extreme. Frankly, I think the understated nature of the trailer suits the character better anyway.
