Zilcho Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I've got a question for you guys: What have been some of the most awesome moments/scenes in the MCU? A selection of mine: Thor hitting Hulk in slo-mo with his hammar Banner transforming into the Hulk in time to defeat the leviathan The moment when the camera goes round all the Avengers in NY standing in the circle The scene which follows the NY battle, following around the Avengers in one take The moment when all the Iron man suits appear at the end of Iron Man 3 Many parts of the Hulkbuster scene - especially the initial armouring up of Iron man. Ultron Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 The circle shot in Avengers when their theme is playing is probably my favorite scene. It's so epic. Quote
kevkipo Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 1. The circle Avengers shot in Avengers 2 2. Quicksilver trying to carry thor's hammer 3. Quicksilver taunting a police officer Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 1. Iron man flying up to meet Loki in Avengers 2. Cap and Winter soldier duking it out on the freeway 3. Tony cap and Thor meeting for the first time in the woods 4. Hulk slow mo punching the giant flying chituri thing 5. Basically anything in the iron man movies Oh, and I have a question about AoU for those who've seen it: Does Ultron do his "now I'm free/are no strings" monologue from the first trailer in the actual movie?? Well he does, kind of... he sings the song a lot, and as Mangle he mentions it a few times I also forgot to mention the Slow Mo Hulk punch! that was awesome! Edited April 30, 2015 by kevkipo Quote
Ultron Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Seeing the movie tonight! (And tomorrow...and Saturday) So excited! I'm dressing up as Vision. I would've gone as Ultron but I didn't have the time or resources to make a good costume unfortunately. Quote

Tom Jurassic Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) I've put it really small because I couldn't get the tag working! Holy hell - just saw AoU and it was incredible! So, so satisfied with it, and I have a major theory! Remember back in Agents of SHIELD Season 1, when we saw those SWORD Agents guarding the Guesthouse? That was building to this the whole time! SWORD were Fury's people manning the Carrier, and the one's who helped to establish the Avengers Initiates facility. Because SWORD still exists and is still running fine. The question is, how will SHIELD tie in? Edited April 30, 2015 by LegoFan117 Quote

I would've gone as Ultron but I didn't have the time or resources to make a good costume unfortunately. I will see the movie Saturday, then go to free comic book day, then go back to the theater to cosplay as the Winter Soldier for the Hall of Heroes Superhero Museum (invited to cosplay for two nights for AOU premiere). Ultron Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Just got back from Avengers. Wow. Great movie. Pretty darn good. I LOVED Vision. Thought he, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver ( ) were spectacular. I also really liked Ultron. He's probably my favorite MCU villain right alongside Loki, but I wish they had done more with him. He didn't have enough physical feats, although him beating the crap out of Thor was a delight. I expect the extended edition will give him more scenes though. I would've liked a slightly more malicious Ultron as well. I wanted to see more casualties. I'll give my more in-depth review tomorrow. Also, did anyone catch that Hawkeye named his child Pietro? It was a really quick shot but I thought that was sweet. Quote

Quicksilver Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Yep i noticed Natalia Pietro Barton It was actually Nathaniel Pietro Barton as Back Widow made a remark about how they thought it was going to be a girl but it was actually a boy. Quote

Marvelfan120 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Saw Age of Ultron today. Loved it. Only thing I had a problem with was how jam packed it was, seemed like a lot happened without enough time to explore the full emotion of the situation. Like others, I really hope there is an extended edition. Quote
EdWebhead Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Just saw Age of Ultron, I really enjoyed it. I'm really disappointed about Quicksilver's death. I get why they did it, but it really seemed like a waste of potential. Also, the scene didn't seem to have much of an impact since we didn't spend much time with him to get attached to the character. I would like to see him resurrected (possibly through Wanda's powers?) but I doubt that will happen. Also, Tony being Iron Man again with no explanation really bothered me. Didn't he give up the suit at the end of Iron Man 3? Flaws aside, the movie was great! The Hulkbuster scene was definitely one of the best action scenes in the movie. Character wise, Vision really stood out as a major player here, as did Scarlet Witch, and I'm really interested to see what they do in the future. The rest of the Avengers were great as usual, especially Hawkeye who gets much more character development here. Ultron was also great, too, but still doesn't top Loki as a villain. I also really like the new Avengers team at the end. It's nice to see Falcon and War Machine recognized as Avengers! Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Age of Ultron was good! Great actions scenes and cool plot. The jokes became repetitive was too fast though, but that may just have been me. Also it felt more of a build up to Civil War than Infinity War until the very end. Quote
Vindicare Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Wow! Such a fantastic movie. I thought it had the most funny line(s) out of the bunch, there were so many. All the fight scenes were brilliant. Going back for more Tuesday. I didn't stay all through the credits...but is there a scene? Quote
AnthonyP301 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I'm super excited to see Avengers: Age of Ultron tomorrow!! I have accidently read spoilers online, but I'll believe them if I see them. I'm going to stay all the way through the credits just to be safe, but if there really isn't a post-credits scene, at least I'll get to listen to some of the movie's music. I've heard that some of the beginning feels rushed, but hopefully, the blu-ray will have the extra half hour we've been hearing about. I can't believe I'm getting to see the sequel to The Avengers tomorrow after almost 3 years! Quote

I can't believe I'm getting to see the sequel to The Avengers tomorrow after almost 3 years! Just got back, but I'll post my full thoughts later. There is only a scene early on in the credits, right after the closing titles. Also, the music during the credits is good, but after the titles it hardly sounds different from the original Avengers OST. I don't regret staying through the end, but there really isn't much special either. Quote

Captain Nemo Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Well I saw the film, but to be honest I don't think it was good. I didn't think it was very good. That's hard to say, but it's really the only way I can describe it. The whole thing just has this sense of being rushed story wise--like every scene felt like it was on rapid pace firing, and I think it was a great detriment to the overall movie. They were flying through names, Easter eggs, pointless side stories (Cho Research? Discovered how to make synthetic flesh--shouldn't that be like huge?!). It was just so quick there was no time to comprehend what was going on. There were a few breaths, like the unnecessary Hawkeye family side plots (which by the way kills any chance that Hawkeye and Widow will ever hook up, which is what we all want), but I just wanted a chance to take everything in--and that was never present. I was thinking while watching it: are my friends going to understand this? The friends who are not versed in comics, lore, even Lego spoilers? I don't think so. Most things were not explained out well or at all, and I really only understood what was going on because of my own knowledge. Other things are just not extended as they should have been--and some things just not shown--such as the creation of Ultimate Ultron. The only notion that he is covered in Vibranium is a throw-away line he mentions. We don't see that that metal hand covered in molten vibranium scene. In fact, many explanatory images seen in the trailers do no appear in the film itself. And in regards to things not in the movie...Strucker? What was the point of that character, he is literally in the movie for two minutes (to tell Hydra to give up--seriously this is movie Hyrda, not weak-megablocks AoS hyrda); but going in I felt like he would have a much larger presence, so I was very surprised that he did nothing but walk and talk. I really only feel he was in the film to set up the season finale of AoS. And he wasn then killed off screen?! The introduction of Klaw also brought with it another issue--I largely got the feeling (like that awful Amazing Spider-Man film) that this film was just setting everything up, but giving nothing in return. It was all set up. Klaw was present only to allude to Black Panther. Infinity Stones and Glove to set up next Avengers. Hulk alone to set up Planet Hulk? Tony leaving to allow...2nd tier characters to set up second tier Avengers team? Quicksilver wise, I also got the feeling of set up--well to not have him anymore. His death felt more of a cop-out than anything. By killing off Quicksilver now, there's no possibility of "why can't he just speed stop everything" problem. But regardless it was disappointing. And I will say unequivocally now, Days of Future Past Quicksilver is way better than the Avengers version...by miles. I liked Ultron; Spader chewed his lines well--but there was really no character development, and poor reasons for his desire to quickly, within like a day, try and destroy all of humanity. Marvel suffers most from it's lack of villains not named Loki, and I was hoping that Ultron would fill that void--but I don't think that is the case. I suppose they could allow for him to return--and I hope he does--Spader is very good but there's just too much going on to utilize him well enough. Quote
AnthonyP301 Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I got back from A:AoU today (technically yesterday) and I loved it! I was surprised theat the stuff about Pietro was true :'( . I don't really want him to stay dead, but there are way too many fake-out deaths already. I hope Ultron remains destroyed, too. I'm interested in the new team, I think just Tony will be back for CA:CW and Thor and Bruce won't be back for a while. I'm glad Rhodey and Sam are now officially Avegers. The mid-credits scene was exciting, but it felt a little out of place. I think it would have worked better as a post-credits scene. A person in the theater said "Seriously?!" at the lack of a post-credits scene. I prefered A:AoU to TA, even though the first is more fun than the second. I think they did a great job humanizing Clint, who I didn't care about until this movie, and I felt there was enough focus on each of the main Avengers. I felt that the movie was a little rushed, and I am looking forward to the extended version on blu-ray. Overall, I highly enjoyed It and can hardly wait for more! Quote
