I saw AoU a couple of days ago and it was good until the final act... It didn't feel as climactic like Loki's Chitauri Invasion. Although I really liked Ultron's snarks and witty remarks, he didn't seem as threathening. I didn't mind the strange vision/dream sequences.

I think Ant-Man will be more enjoyable since it hasn't such hype built around it.

Interesting.

If Black Widow and the secondary Avengers team all side with Cap, that'll leave Iron Man's group a bit light (if I know anything about Civil War, anyway.) I kind of thought they were done with Hawkeye after AoU. Is Black Panther being introduced here, or does he have his own film beforehand?

The Black Panther movie will be released in 2018, Civil War will be released next May. :)

Yes, he's being introduced in Civil War along with (presumably) spiderman

Well i've heard the teams are devided as this:

Scott, Tony, Brock, Zemo, Vision and Rhodey on one side

Wanda, Steve, T'Challa, Natasha, Clint, and Sam on the other

With Peter somewhere in the middle

The thing is, they have said that they casted Black Panther in the Spidey role, which probably means that he'll swap from Iron Man's team to Cap's.

He'll probably support the act too, especially with the Hulkbuster fight devastating Wakanda in AoU.

Someone also suggested to me that if Clint has a family now, is he going to risk being a government fugitive? I thought that was an interesting concept.

I keep hearing this, but it makes absolutely no sense to me.

He tears a city out of the ground and lifts it up in the air! You have a floating city threatening to crash down and do at the very least a significant amount of damage! There's a whole load of civilians on it, with no obvious way to clear them until the helicarrier shows up. Those stakes are a whole lot bigger than 'portal to an army'. People keep deriding Ultron for being 'weak' but Loki never once put up a substantial fight in Avengers, while Ultron has an edge over the Avengers the whole movie.

Fully agree, he was flipping scary

Yep, I thought the meteor was an awesome plan. Killing all humans in one move. Not to mention he was seconds away from actually completely said plan! Loki was just a big baby in Avengers and his plan was lame. Ultron was way more menacing.

It was a fantastic plan, he said the whole movie he was very fascinated by meteors

First look at Crossbones from Civil War. I don't really like it to be completely honest.

[snip]

Why not? I think he looks great. The comics Crossbones always looked like a Bane wannabe to me. This film version looks like it will fit right in with the MCU. I am intrigued by those things on his hands, maybe they are there to deliver more devastating blows.

It's fairly spot-on with the comics look without seeming ridiculous on screen. I'm excited. There's also some nice pictures of Falcon's new suit and a few others on set.

Aside from the a bit 'techy' look he has going on, I like it. The mask is killer and pretty on point. The Falcon looks good as well, much like his current comic self.

Saw AoU a second time today. liked it a lot better this time. I think the hype got to me and I was wanting perfection instead of judging it on it's merits the first time.

Agreed. I really enjoyed it the first time, but I felt that there was something odd about it. I saw it again the next day, and liked it infinitely more.

SPOILERS FOR CIVIL WAR

Apparently Peggy dies in Civil War, and the funeral scene shot was for her. Not a terribly tragic death since she was already old, but it must be hard for Steve, with Peggy being his first love. Source here.

How they messed up there :snicker: Peggy carter is played by Emily VanCamp

Well when i last checked Emily was a good looking blonde actress rather than an old woman

Actually, the article is messed up because Emily VanCamp doesn't play Peggy Carter, she plays Agent 13, who is Peggy's (grand?)niece. Peggy is played by Hayley Atwell (also not an old woman, but they put her in a lot of makeup as seen in Winter Soldier). So what did the Spoiler article get wrong - the name of the character, or the name of the actress?

The Character in fact, i knew she is Agent 13

But holy cow is that old Peggy really Hayley Atwell?? Props to the Make-Up group!

Honestly, I felt the same way...

Throughout most of the movie, Ultron is trying to create his "perfect" self. He get's the vibranium and the scepter with the gem and creates the new body then tries uploading himself to the new suit only to be stopped by the Avengers. Then the Avengers use the body and gem to create Vision who should presumably be much more powerful than Ultron? Ultron doesn't really feel all that powerful after that. In fact he is handled fairly easily. The only threat is he can replicate himself and escape through the interwebz, but Vision cuts off his access to the internet(?) so there goes that. All we are left with is a much weaker Ultron suit and a small army of fairly weak robots. Sure the city crashing into the Earth could have been catastrophic, but it didn't seem any more threatening then setting off a few atomic bombs. Compared to the first Avengers where you have a whole army of aliens invading and ya, it just didn't seem like near as big of a threat. Just my 2 cents...

All well, at least the Lego sets were all pretty spot on, unlike with some based on the last Marvel films.
