XimenaPaulina Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 If Ant-Man and Wasp appear in Avengers 2 it will only be a small cameo and without superpowers. Why do you think so? I see no reason why they couldn't "help" the Avengers in combat. Besides, I think both of them are much much more useful in combat than "for eye candy purposes only" Black Widow. Pew! Pew! Take that Chitauri scum! Quote
Spider-Man Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I think Ant Man is scheduled for release after Avengers 2 so I doubt that Wasp or Ant Man would play and significant role in the movie However I do like your Ant Man 2 idea with a Vision/Ultron storyline And as for your question on direct to DVD films, Marvel has actually done quite a few of these, however they were all animated... ______ Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 Maybe Ant-Man will be the cameo at the end of Avengers 2. Quote

Hmm. I think that Ant-man and Wasp will play important roles in Avengers film. I also feel sorry for Ant-man as he is at a little bit of a disadvantage compared to the other cinematic heroes. He doesn't really have the fame and isn't widely know like Iron-man, Hulk and even Thor. Marvel probably knows this and is using Avengers 2 to introduce him to the mainstream audience. It makes sense if someone showed the average person a trailler for an Ant-man film they will most likely say ' well I'm not watching that rubbish'. But if he is introduced in the Avengers film and plays a significant role he will most likely win over a whole new audience, and people will be more interested to see his own film. What I hope marvel does Is put Pymm or whoever Ant-man will be in the TV series as a Scientist. In the series he could play a similar role to 'Q' in the bond series, providing gadgets and intel. Then in the finale have him unlock the secret to shrinking atoms and set him up for Avengers 2. Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Their movie is scheduled after The Avengers 2, and I guess they want to include in the movie how they get their powers. Yeah that could be a possibility due to the timing of movies, but they could still include how Ant-man (and Wasp) got their powers and at the same time help the Avengers in actual combat in Avengers 2. And I agree with Sam892's point that having Ant-Man/Wasp play a significant role in A2 would be beneficial for Ant-Man's character in his solo movie, which could focus on another major storyline like the Ultron-Vision story arc. Well at this point it's all fan guesswork but it's good to hear the various viewpoints on the possibilities of future Marvel movies. Quote
Oky Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 The scheduling of the Ant Man movie is indeed a bit puzzling, but I think they could still show Ant Man and Wasp with their powers in A2 by having their movie be sort of a prequel to A2. It might be confusing to some viewers, but maybe they could have Nick Fury briefly explain their background to the Avengers or something. After all, they didn't give Hawkeye any backstory either, but still included him in the movie. His appearance in Thor was just a cameo and many didn't know who was back then. Quote

At this point, the less origin stories we see the better. In comics, origins used to be the exception to the rule, and were often handled in one page flashbacks. Darth Vader was cool. Seeing Darth Vader as a kid, crying over his mom? Not so cool. Boba Fett was cool. Seeing Boba Fett as a kid crying over his dad? Not so cool. There have been good origin stories in movies (like Iron Man I), but generally, they are the most boring parts of the movie. We can accept that crazy stuff happens, and hit the ground running. "There's this scientist working for SHIELD named Hank Pym who has discovered what we're calling 'Pym particles.' Please meet Hank Pym," says Samuel L. Jackson. Pym walks out and shrinks. Done. Movie starts kicking megablocks from there. ~~~~~~~~~~~ With the Fantastic Four movies, I think the biggest crime they made was not having a James Bond/Indiana Jones style, 'crazy action' set up to emphasise how they deal with 'fantastic' things all the time... Like, a 10 minute opener set in the negative zone with Reed Richards out-smarting Annihilus. Fox owns the rights to the characters, why not make better use of them? At this point, Marvel would be better served to make it seem like there are more and more crazy costumed villains in the universe. Start Iron Man 3 with Iron Man fighting the Absorbing Man and wiping his hands clean before the real flick starts. Spider-Man takes on the Scorpion in the opening of a film, encasing him in concrete then trying to make it to class on time. They could broaden out the film universe a lot, and cut out a lot of the parts that people want to fast forward to by accepting the fact that the mass-market has already accepted the concept of super-heroes in film. Bilbo Baggins Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I'm really interested on seeing details of the new armour. Quote
Sam892 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I can't wait to see what Easter eggs and cameo Iron-man 3 has in store. The last 2 were filled with them ( Captain America's Shield, numerous references to the 10 Rings, Ect... ) not to mention the credits scene which will show off maybe Thor or another phase 2 movie. On another note Ultimate Spider-man will finish next week and I was starting to think about the second series. I really want to see more X-men, Fantastic Four and Daredevil. They would make great additions to the show and then there's also the chance of LEGO making them. ( They made Dr Doom so if they appear in the show them there shouldn't be a reason not too.) Quote
Leo604 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 This should probably be in the Marvel Cinematic Thread we already have. ;) But yeah, look forward to see a Lego version of the Mark 8. Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 It would be awesome if it featured the Green Goblin. Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Wow. That armor is awesome, I do hope to be able to get one of those LEGO! Quote

Sam892 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Well that trailler was incredible. Really can't wait to see it. It's also cool to see Iron-man in the snow! Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Wow, I keep forgetting how good the Iron Man movies are. This one looks to be no different. Quote
