Marvelfan120 Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 I'm new here so I'm not sure if this was posted but I didn't see it when I skimmed through old posts, so.... If you haven't already heard the news Stan Lee said awhile back that marvel is working on both a Doctor Stange and a Black Panther movie. My guess is that will be the lineup for 2016 but I don't think he said anything about when they would be coming out Quote
Sam892 Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 X-Men First Class was arguably the best of the movies so far. Personally I think it's a lot better than X-2. This is good news. The next movie should be a trip. X-Men have had a time travel component going on for over 30 years. It's weird, but very very rereadable. The story will be different, since it won't be about Cyclops and Phoenix's child. But they will be able to write a story which bridges the old and young. I honestly think it will be the absolute last of McKellon and Stewart in the movie, but it'll be a lot better than X-3, which is embarrassing. If anything I believe that this will set a path to bring them both back. X4 is already in its production stage with scripts being written, and its already been stated by the producers that X4 leads into X5. I personally believe that Days of future past may erase some points of the films and bring about a new continuity, just like in Star Trek. Or they could just go the Super-man route and pretend that certain films ( X3 ) didn't happen. X3 as a movie was already doomed before it started filming. It had loads of unfortunate events hinder it. First of all Signer left the project to do the Super-man film, and so did the actor who played Cyclops. So due to this Cyclops was killed in the first part of the film. Nightcrawler was removed from the scrip as Fox didn't see much point in hiring the actor to play him again since he was only in 3 scenes, and lots of characters were drastically changed to meet the need of the studio. It's a shame and I think the film would have been much better if: Cyclops didn't die Nightcrawler was in the film even if it wasn't in an action role Singer hasn't left to make Super-man Less Wolverine focused Rouge wasn't cured Gambit was in this instead of Origins And also if juggernaut had a different actor, was bigger, looked less magneto esc and was related in some way to Xavier. Mr Man Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 And also if juggernaut had a different actor, was bigger, looked less magneto esc and was related in some way to Xavier. I really liked juggernaut in X-3, I think he was one of the best characters introduced for X-3. Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Anyone else hear that Marvel's 1st family's second chance now has a (reported) release date... http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/12/10/fantastic-four-reboot-release-date/ Not sure we'll see any sets considering Av2 is coming right on it's heels but one can dream, right? PS Wasn't sure if this belonged in the Marvel Cinematic U thread since it's a fox production... If it should be there- moderators feel free to move this Quote
Another Brick In The Wall Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Hope Chikilis reprises his role as Ben Grimm and don't use CG for 'The Thing". They can change the rest. Quote

HawkLord Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 The Fantastic Four is really a great comic and one of my favorites from back in the day. I thought the first movie was good with a weak ending (Doom went out too easily) and the second movie was just unbearable. Everything I've been reading points to an entirely new cast for this reboot. I just hope it goes into a different direction, though. Maybe add in Annihilus, Mole Man, or Blastaar instead of Doom, so it just doesn't feel like a complete do-over. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I like the Fantastic Four characters, but I agree the movies weren't ideal. I didn't mind the cast so much, but I think it certainly could have been better. I haven't given it enough thought to give examples though. I do think Hulk in Avengers was done properly, so CGI for Thing wouldn't be that bad, especially considering the time since the last movie and maybe more money being spent since they rake in so much these days. Oky Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 This is kind of old news, but I haven't seen it mentioned here: The 10-Disc Avengers box set has a new release date of April 2 and comes with a slightly different briefcase along with an exclusive preview of Iron Man 3 and the other Phase Two movies! Can't wait! Quote
Praiter Yed Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Hugh Jackman confirmed for X-Men: Days of Future Past Quote
Mr Man Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Hugh Jackman confirmed for X-Men: Days of Future Past Wow, Hugh Jackman in every X-Men film, I wonder howmuch he gets for all that! Quote
Praiter Yed Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I think it's safe to say he's wealthier than me! - I wonder if he'll appear in both the future and past timelines? And if so, will he look any different in each Quote
Sam892 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Really looking forward to Days of Future Past and Wolverine, both films sound amazing. I wasn't suprised that Jackmans returning for a seventh time to the role of Logan. He really seems to love playing him in the films, and I can't think of anyone better to play him. Hopefully we will see Storm, Jean, Cyclops,Beast and the other cast members from the orginal films. Be interesting to see how they travel through time. Maybe a mutant or Proffessor X sends his brain waves through time. Would be great if they introduce Scarlet witch and Quicksilver. Quote
Mr Man Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 And if so, will he look any different in each He shouldn't should he, I mean there's a 100 years or so between the beginning of Origins: Wolverine, and Last Stand. Quote
def Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Maybe a mutant or Proffessor X sends his brain waves through time. If you read the original Days of Future Past, a telepath mutant, Rachel Summers, sends adult Kitty Pryde back into the body of her teen self. Since Rachel isn't a character in the movies for lots of reasons, mainly, she's the adult daughter of Cyclops and Jean Grey, the mutant will have to be different. With Singer wanting to get McKellon on board, it seems it really will be both past and future. I just hope that they keep the past and future separated, with a single character link between them, like Xavier. The X-Men had time travel, but characters never just traveled around easily, and it was always just a character at a time. Thinking about it, Rachel Summers is an awesome character. I'd love to see her in the movies! Quote
Sam892 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 According to movieweb.com, Hugh Jackman just revealed that EVERY actor who has ever worn a X-men uniform will return for DOFP. Quote

As long as they make a better attempt at it than Last Stand, I really don't mind, to be honest most characters where glorified extras anyway. Quote

The_Chosen_1 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Ant-Man has been known for a while now; what's new information is that it will officially mark the beginning of Phase 3. This means that Phase 2 will only have four films, as opposed to Phase 1's five. Quote
Sam892 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) Ant-Man has been known for a while now; what's new information is that it will officially mark the beginning of Phase 3. This means that Phase 2 will only have four films, as opposed to Phase 1's five. I'm not too fussed about only having four films. It's a shame we won't get Hulk or Antman, but I'm guessing they will both have cameos and parts in Avengers 2. I'm more interested to know if Phase three will be the last phase. Hopefully not as there's so many great story's still to tell. I'm also thinking that Avengers 3 may mark the start of the New Avengers. It could be easily made up of Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and even Spidey. Hopefully they won't completely replace the original line up, but will just team up with them every now and then. Edited January 26, 2013 by Sam892 Quote
