However my one issue with the film was perhaps the X-Men. They're inclusion sort of made this feel like a pseudo X-Men movie

It is meant to be the X-Men universe though, and not an unprecedented move - DeadpoolReynolds was included in the travesty that was X-Men Origins so I don't blame them for setting him to be including in future X-Men movies, whenever those may be. Personally I think the Colossus and Negasonic inclusion was a good supporting cast, and didn't interfere too much with Deadpool's own plot.

You do have a good point though, studios should be careful with how they add in supporting cast roles; i.e. the Justice League lead-in's in BatmanvSuperman were horribly done and confused rather than excited most people. With Deadpool, at least the X-Men fit into the universe and the story.

Whilst I love the name, it's sounds villainous and all, I reckon he should have been Mordred the Mystic or something

Edit:

Oh yeah, also Rachel McAdams is Christine Palmer, one of the 3 Night Nurses in comics, but in the movie she'll just be a doctor and friend of Strange (I can't actually confirm if she will become NN in the film, I've just seen too many idiots on Facebook getting confused about Claire and Christine both being Night Nurse, so please guys, don't start complaining that there already is a NN, it's only the name of an actual Marvel doctor being used in the DS movie. Side note: Claire Temple's comic book design is now based on Rosario Dawson after her Daredevil/Jess Jones role)

Also a toy double pack of Wong and Zealot confirms that either the character Zealot or the Mystic race mentioned in my link Zealots will appear in the film

So, to anyone who knows about the Batman v Superman controversy (the one where Batman said "oh, s---" on-screen and people thought that was a bad conveyance of Batman), I was rewatching CA: Civil War yesterday. When Scott Lang first grows to Giant-Man, Spidey looks on in surprise and yells "holy s---!" Was this not picked up on? Batman is a much darker, more brooding character than Spidey, so how was this not picked out from the film with the huge kid audience, not just of this film, for all mediums of Spider-man? Is this not a slip-up or bad portrayal of his comical persona?

Sorry if that seemed like a rant, it's really just a thoughtful question I had for you guys.

I would question where the hell Spidey learns that kind of language at the age of 15, but from my home town of Dawlish you can find 7 year olds saying more PG 18 film language.

Honestly in response though, I care more about Spidey using foul language than Batman, cos Bruce is like 40 something so its understandable

Where did Spidey learn that language? An American High School obviously!

Exactly...lol. Most kids know these words from a young age.

S**t is my grandfather's favorite swear word. It's kind of like a family word for us now. So yes, I have known the word all my life. No surprise Spidey knows it to.

I doubt he got it from Uncle Ben. He's too busy dying each reincarnation

I wonder who they'll cast as Uncle Ben in Homecoming; if Marvel got somebody as young+attractive as Marisa Tomei to play Aunt May, Uncle Ben is going to have be a male model or something.

I wonder if they will flashback to that or not. Seeing how well they skipped the orgin story in Civil War; I kind of don't want to spend time in Homecoming to see the same story I saw with Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield all over again...

I imagine they will show tidbits, maybe flashbacks to Uncle Ben and his relationship with Peter, maybe just for him to give Peter the "great power, great responsibility" line

Obviously Peter has learned the words, he lived in New York and goes to public high school here in 'Merica. But the fact that they had him, of all characters, using the word? Given his place as such a young, somewhat relatable icon to many kids (and teens, sure), I don't see why Disney would have him in that situation. But that's just my thoughts.

Well, perhaps they could do like with the Incredible Hulk and just flash through his origins during the opening credits... it gets the intro out of the way quick enough, and gets us into the actual story in ~5 minutes.

Hopefully. Or like BvS, intro/origin to start off a film about a character whose origin has been told a million times already

But that was so necessary because... 'Martha!'

From the non spoiler hype I've read, it really seems Homecoming will skip the origin altogether. I mean - why introduce him already as Spidey in Civil War if they think they need to go retell his origin? I really strongly hope this is true. A credits sequence would be AT MOST what I'd want to see if it.

Ok so I got thinking today and realized The winter soldier and Deadpool both had fights on overpasses. So which movie did it better? I like both equally, maybe slight edge to WS just for the shear quality of the choreography

Posted

If we're also including the part where they get off of the overpass, Winter Soldier for sure! That whole scene is my favorite in the movie. Love it.

Spider Man vs Daredevil crossover:

Daredevil: listen kid, this has been fun and all but I've got somewhere else to be

Spidey: Where's that?

Daredevil: I have to go and visit Ben Urich's grave. It was two years ago today he was murdered by a criminal

Spidey: you knew someone called Ben? <starts crying, proceeds to hug Matt>

That's actually how most American teenagers would react to the sudden appearance of a towering, 50-foot giant.

I think that is how almost everyone would act (except like, 10 and under, but heck, I've heard 11 year olds swear.)

Looks great! I have to admit I have no idea who Mantis is (but come on, this is one of their most obscure comics EVER... I highly doubt that anyone in the theater when I go see this will have any idea who she is, prior to the film, at all) but she looks really cool.

Also, I don't notice Nebula looking any different... she hacked off her robotic right hand, I expected at least a different one.
