BrickWild Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Saw Dr Strange last week! It was an absolute thriller! Up next: Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 Thor: Ragnarok Black Panther Ant Man & the Wasp Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) Saw doctor strange and it's a heck of a thriller. We find gates to alternate universes, sorcery and living capes. But more importantly, the film has enough movie magic to satisfy fans and general audiences alike. The sorcerers are using energy in different, creative ways to bend reality and creating fiery whips. The natural, light humor is definitely good as well. Another great part of the film is the cast. Although, Rachel McAdams is not used properly as I had hoped. Kaecilius is no different than most of the villains, another actor who was wasted. Just wish they could have done more with them. It's an origin story so it's nothing big, but that was expected and it got the job done. It's like iron man with magic, but it was a good movie with excellent scenes. It's freaking mind blowing with all the special effects. I'd definitely watch in this IMAX, it would make it that much better. Overall, It was a great movie! Civil war is still my #1 movie in the MCU, but this is now my third favorite marvel movie. Marvel ending the year on a high note! Yes, I recommend it. Edited November 2, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote
Krulis Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) Saw Doctor Strange in IMAX tonight and I love it. One of best movies this year and maybe even my new favourite MCU film. Cumberbatch was amazing as Strange and rest of the cast did great as well. Edited November 2, 2016 by Krulis Quote
Tariq j Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Yeah, I saw it as well. It was amazing! The Actors did great jobs as their roles. The special effects were outstanding and look great in 3D. I think Rachel McAdams could have been used a lot more though. Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I caught up with Agents of Shield last night on DVR; and I am waiting for the chance to see Doctor Strange soon. All I need to say about the latest episode of Agents for now is; Johnny (Freak'n) Blaze. Also a Facebook memory came up today showing that a year ago was the day I realized Benedict Cumberbatch would be Doctor Strange; what good timing! Quote

I saw Doctor Strange yesterday afternoon. I feel Rachel Mcadams was indeed not used to her potential, and come on: we all knew Kaecillius was a Marvel villain and therefore the inevitable happens. But I quite liked the persistence of his character, as well as the few humorous lines he was given. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the film, especially for not knowing loads about the character of Strange. The CGI was mind-blowing, and would've been insane in 3D! Cannot wait for its DVD release. I thought a MCU take on Captain Britain was done already in the First Avenger and Peggy Carter as part of the Howling Commandos? Last I heard, Squirrel Girl (along with Ms. Marvel) were being reserved for a T.V. show on Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family). The New Warriors or something like that (?). Seeing how rocky though Marvel's live action shows on TV have been lately (Peggy Carter cancelled, Most Wanted cancelled before release, Cloack and Dagger on hold, and reports that Agents of SHIELD is lowering in viewership...) I fear that any new Marvel show on TV has a lot to prove before it even airs. Of course if Agents and this New Warriors (?) were transferred to Netflix, but retained their TV-14 rating I think they could still be a hit, and furthermore could eventually be syndicated back to a network TV station. Ultron Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I don't think Cloak and Dagger is on hold. I think it's still just in the planning stages. Marvel TV isn't falling apart. We can't expect every show of theirs to last 12 seasons. Peggy had a good run and while I think a third season would've been nice to close things, I'm not entirely upset that it was cancelled. Runaways is still being planned at Hulu, so I think that will be a very good show if they put as much effort into it as they do with the Netflix ones. Quote

Thanks, it looks like I did goof up on what I said about Cloak and Dagger. Glad to hear it is still in development. Also I forgot about Runaways to; so maybe I shouldn't give up hope on New Warriors yet! I still though think that Marvel TV shows are a risky investment for a TV network though; the special effects used in them make them far more expensive than the run of the mill Dramas/Reality Shows that channels such as ABC normally run. If they green-light a Marvel show, they want the developers to prove that it will make them more money than they put into it. I think Agents of SHIELD has been successful enough to last all these years, but its dwindling viewers makes me fear it is reaching the end of its life (strange because most critics are giving the current crop of Agents episodes far higher reviews than their more widely viewed episodes in the first seasons). Something though about Agent's viewers, is that more of them are just DVR recording the show instead of watching when it first airs (with the lucrative commercials) which contributes to why they report lower viewers. I know my family runs Agents on the DVR, so I guess we are part of the problem! Again, maybe Agents would fare better on Netflix, just as long as it keeps its TV-14 rating so it could be syndicated to Freeform or SyFy later on down the road. Quote

Vindicare Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Saw the good doctor in IMAX, it was quite amazing. Definitely recommend this format if it's not too much trouble to get to. so, we now have all but one Gem, right? I'm guessing Guardians is where it'll turn up. Do we have an official wording on which Gem is which? Or is it up for debate amongst fans. Quote

I heard a rumor that the gem will actually show in Thor 3 instead of Guardians, since I guess the director of Guardians V.2 has outright said there are no gems in his film. Quote
NXS7 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 If I had to take a guess, I would guess that Hela has the Soul Stone, and uses it to raise her army of the dead to attack Asgard. Makes total sense considering who Hela is in the comics Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Inhumans to now be a show on ABC like agents of shield. This is a huge letdown, I was looking forward to the movie when they first announced it, but I didn't expect this. With a small budget, I don't know how this will do. What do you guys think? Quote

That's a bummer. The one thing about the Inhumans that I don't particularly care for is their look...or lack thereof. Outside of the royal family, there's very few who loo human. With a TV budget, I don't see that changing. It'll be interesting to see how they handle Medusa. I do really like Ghost Rider's skull look, so I do have some confidence in them. There's only going to be 8 episodes, so there's a bigger chance to have better quality than say AoS having a budget to last them 22 episodes with Ghost Rider, Quake, Hellfire and now Eli Morrow's powers Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 I finally got to catch up with the latest Agents of SHIELD now that they are back from their brief November break. It was a bit of a confusing episode, but it was nice to see them tying in the events of Agents to the world of magic in Doctor Strange; a few highlights in the spoiler tab: Coulson, Fitz, and Ghost Rider were trapped in an alternate dimension last episode. While trapped the spirit of Ghost Rider left Robbie's body and possessed Mack. Mack had a brief stint as Ghost Rider to take down the Chinatown gang and find clues to the location of Robbie's uncle Eli. Robbie gained his powers back by striking a deal with the "Ghost Rider spirit" to fulfill the spirit's desires for vengeance. Mack seemed shaken and disturbed once the spirit left his body. By the way, Eli seems to have powers to create carbon rocks now? Interesting... Meanwhile May and Dr. Radcliffe tried working on a way to free Coulson and Fitz from the alternate dimension they were trapped in. While Coulson and Fitz were trapped in a ghost like state Fitz watched the private actions of Director Jeffery Mace, and was shocked to realize the new Director had sent Simmons on a secret mission without knowing what the risks of the mission were. It seemed that while they were trapped there, Coulson's soul was nearly sucked down into "Hell" (with special effects mirroring the crystal mirror dimension thing of Dr. Strange). Coulson and Fitz were saved by the LMD Radcliffe had built; she used her android abilities to read the Darkhold book and then created a device that allowed her to mimic powers similar to Dr. Strange (basically a technologically induced "slip-ring" portal to open up the dimension Fitz and Coulson were trapped in). Since the LMD now has super powers thanks to the Darkhold it seems people are speculating she might become an MCU version of Jocasta. Meanwhile it turned out Simmon's secret mission was to observe an Inhuman in long gestating Terragenisis, and she ended up awakening the Inhuman, right before she was returned back to SHIELD by some government mooks. I think it was a bit of an overstuffed episode. To much going on, all at once. There were plenty of cool plot points going on such as Mack possessed by Ghost Rider, or the LMD learning to manipulate magic... But it really left me a bit more confused than curious. The introduction of a new Inhuman (albeit nameless as of now) makes me wonder if it is a set up for the upcoming Inhuman's TV specials. Quote

Second, I assume everyone saw that awesome new Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 trailer? Well if Aida does somehow become Jocasta, Jocasta basically an analog to Ultron: http://marvel.com/universe/Jocasta [/spolier] Edited December 4, 2016 by xboxtravis7992 Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 (edited) Surprised no one is talking about the GOTG 2 trailer. It's here: Baby groot is going to make Disney a butt load of money. Drax is hilarious here, he'll definitely steal the show again. Everything looks good so far. Edited December 4, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote
