Sam892 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Marc Webb tweeted a picture of the new Spidey Suit in ASM 2. Looks quite good IMO, a lot more like the Comic book and I love the new Eyes. I would add a link but I'm currently on my iPhone. Quote

Sam892 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) Wait, wat? Martin Sheen's in this? o_O Most likely to play Uncle Ben in flash backs. Webb already said that they will go more into Peter's parents and Childhood. Edited February 25, 2013 by Sam892 Quote
Spider-Man Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 That suit The article asked the question if this is the most comic accurate suit we have seen so far, and the answer is YES! If only LEGO and Sony could work out some kind of agreement Quote
Oky Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 The article asked the question if this is the most comic accurate suit we have seen so far, and the answer is YES! I disagree. This suit still has those weird lines going over his arms and legs and still looks too organic. For me, the best and most accurate version will always be the Raimi one. But at least this one is much better than the horrid last version. So the main villain will be Electro, huh? That makes sense I suppose, although it wouldn't have been my first choice. Quote

That makes sense I suppose, although it wouldn't have been my first choice. I also thought Raimi's was the best suit up until this point. From the picture it looks like those weird lines were removed, but I can't really tell for sure since it doesn't show a whole lot. The first picture they showed in the article is from the first movie, so it isn't the new one. This newest one looks a lot like Raimi's suit, except I think the mask is far superior. The eyes on this mask are the closest we have come to the comics, in my opinion. I agree about Electro though. Should be fun, but definitely not one of my personal favorites. It also doesn't answer the question of who the person was in Dr. Conners cell after the credits? It has also been rumored that the Rhino will be in the movie, and that Venom will play some sort of role either in this film, or that he will have his own film in the future. Oky Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Oh, I see. I thought the first picture was from the sequel too. In that case I will have to reserve judgement until we see more of the new suit, but yeah, I guess the mask is the most accurate to the comics so far. Quote
The Legonater Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 It also doesn't answer the question of who the person was in Dr. Conners cell after the credits? I was always under the impression he was a personification of the lizard virus, considering he vanished. Quote

I thought you were pointing to the first picture, but didn't want to assume My initial post was just really excited about the mask, and from what we can see in the picture the suit is looking pretty good. Hopefully Spidey loses the "gym shoes" he was wearing in the first. I was always under the impression he was a personification of the lizard virus, considering he vanished. That's definitely a possibility, but I think that more than likely whoever the character was will play a larger role in the movie. I know on some other forums people were suggesting it could be Mysterio, or Chameleon but everything at this point is still just speculation. Edited February 26, 2013 by Spider-Man Quote

Mysterio is underused in movies (like zero afaik) so that would be awesome but somehow I think the lizard virus personified is more likely... as far as Chameleon goes that's an incredible longshot... so's mysterio for that matter but chameleon is even more of a longshot. Spider-Man Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Heard some pretty interesting rumors about some future Marvel stuff! (Avengers 2 and 3 rumors included, so avoid if you don't to read speculation) Apparently Amazing Spider-Man 2 is going to connect to the current Marvel Cinematic Universe so that Spider-Man will be in Avengers 2! Also going with Avengers 2, at the end of the movie apparently Hulk will be kicked off the planet by the Illuminati (Marvel version) and then Hulk will star in his own solo movie based on the Planet Hulk material. Then that movie is rumored to end in a way that brings the angry Hulk back to Earth, and Avengers 3 will deal with the Avengers needing to stop Hulk, which will be based around the World War Hulk comics. Again all this is just rumor at this point in time, but if it does turn out to be true I am definitely excited for the next 5 years of Marvel movies! Quote

Sam892 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 There's a lot of connections between The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-man. I read an article talking about the timelines of the movies. They said that although Avengers was released in 2012 it takes place in 2011. This is because its one year after where Ironman 2 and Thor are both set. Spidey is based in 2012 one year after the Avengers. Marvel said that the Oscorp building was meant to be in the Avengers but due to time they couldn't do it. So this article was talking about the refferences in Spidey to the Avengers. The most interesting one to me at least was that New York, would be pretty beat up after the Avengers. Which makes sense for there to be 50 billion cranes everywhere. It could just be a load but its a nice thought as to why there's so much construction equipment in ASM. Quote

Sam892 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Just a quick off slightly off topic question. Has anyone in the UK pre ordered the phase one 10 disc box set? If so where from, what price and if its international what was the shipping? Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I found a link that seems to show the full body look for ASM2... no more crazy boots it would seem http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1702633/amazing-spider-man-2-photos.jhtml Quote
Spider-Man Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Now that suit is just about perfect! Removed all the ASM weird things, adopted some of the Raimi look, and FINALLY corrected the mask Can't wait for some close ups! Quote

Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) It seems that the Green Goblin will be appearing in Amazing Spider-Man 2 as well. I'm not going to see this as I'm not happy with this latest bunch of Spider-Man films though. The Sam Raimi films are my version of Spider-Man. I wasn't a fan of The Amazing Spider-Man, but I'm sure others will find this interesting. Edited February 28, 2013 by Star Wars NutJob 69 Quote

Can't help but think their gearing up for the Sinister Six. Personally I hope they set up Venom and Goblin for future Films. In other news lots of sites are saying that Iron man 3 might be RDJ's last time as Stark. IMO Marvel need to throw as much money as possible towards keeping him as Stark for future films. Quote

I hope he is not GG in ASM2 but that we can get the Sinister 6 together in ASM3 after inro'ing some in ASM2, maybe have GG show up post credits or something. As far as the IM3 being RDJ's ;last IM casting, I hope and think it's a rumor. He has said many times it is his fav' role. If it is true I'd say give him everything and the sink to stay on! Quote

I couldn't stand the Raimi films, and I've found TAS a lot more enjoyable. Quote
Darth Lurtz Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Really? I couldn't stand the Raimi films, and I've found TAS a lot more enjoyable. Agreed. I thought Andrew Garfield was spot on as Peter Parker and had good chemistry with Emma Stone. Quote
