We're all better off knowing that. Thanks! :sweet:

In other news, Singer announced two more X-Men for the next film: Bishop and Warpath. I pretty much hate Bishop. He's a nonsensical character, with vague, 90's-style powers. And became famous for having a mullet. He kind of sucks. That said, he makes sense for the film, since he's a future guy, and it'll likely be a small part. The second announcement was Warpath, one of my favorite 'new' X-Men. He's the brother of Thunderbird, one of the original Giant Size X-Men crew, and plays like a much more grounded Wolverine: heightened senses, enhanced physical, but none of the ridiculous backstory. He's a cool character, but unfortunately, like Bishop, will likely have a small part.

The Wolverine is still looking terrible to me, and really, I don't even want to illegally download it to watch it at this point, but this next X-Film just sounds interesting.

This is the only story where I can see the inclusion of Bishop as almost being good. If they do it right Bishop should be a teenager branded and trapped in the mutant internment camps of the future. Not the mullet wearing steroid fueled absurdity that most defines the character since he was created. Hopefully they show teenage Bishop in the future, and then leave him there.

Besides, it could be worse... They could be trying to shoehorn Cable in /shudder and gag!

Cable is 1000 times a better character than bishop... he has a personality and a sharp mind... Bishop was a pawn most of the time and could never figure out what he should do. at least when Cable makes up his mind he goes all out

I watched Iron Man 3 today. Overall, it was the best movie in the series. Best Iron Man movie? Not sure.

As much as I love Marvel comics as a whole, Iron Man was always one of the weaker, less defined characters. His popularity now has to do with the 90's cartoon, and all those kids who watched it growing up and wanting to see the movie. His comics are better now, but for a long long time, he was better as an Avenger than as a solo book. So, I don't really care much about the true-to-the-book thing with this movie. And it really does veer off the books heavily. That said...

It's got pretty awesome action and effects. There are a couple sour notes in it, but the story bounces around enough to make you forget. The movie is written by the guy who did Lethal Weapon, and in a lot of places it is just like that. Particularly the extended buddy-cop movie it turns into around half way in. But, so much other stuff delights when it kicks in. So, it probably is the most entertaining of the three, though Iron Man 1 is probably the most satisfying (until that boring ending fight).

Plus, Happy Ending's Adam Pally has an amazing cameo, the always amazing Miguel Ferrer is the vice-president, and though he doesn't get much to do, Miguel Ferrer is awesome (watch him in Robocop or on Twin Peaks).

Spoiler stuff:

-The Madarin is totally amazing, until he totally sucks. He's the biggest disappointment of the movie.

-The ending is the end of a trilogy, and it looks like he's retired, which is a very sour note. These heroes need to go on forever. It's part of their character.

-The mechanics of the story feel forced. He has no suit, then he has two dozen suits. Fun to watch, but it's unclear why he couldn't do that all along.

-The Tony Stark panic attacks dragged the story down, with little pay off.

-The geography was totally wonky, switching from California to Tennessee to Pakistan to Florida in an instant. I had a lot of what? huhs?

Luckily, the movie was quick enough to not make these big holes/tonal quirks too much. I'm kind of nitpicking here, except that thing about Tony retiring. That was simply lame.

-just because he destroys the suits and removes the arc reactor doesn't mean it's the end, he even says that without he is still Iron Man. Plus after the post credits scene it says "Iron Man will return."

You're right, it doesn't mean it will end, but it leans that way. I didn't stay for the after credits part though. Iron Man will return in Avengers 2, but Downey has said he's done with Iron Man movies, or so I hear. I got a strong feeling they weren't leading to a sequel. Time will tell :classic:

The news that's currently spreading around is that Downey has just signed on for Avengers 2 and Iron man 4. However Marvel is waiting for Paltrow to sign on aswell, before doing a press release. Don Cheadle is still signed on for a few movies, hence why theirs talk for him to do Winter Soldier, Avengers 2 and more. However until a official statement these are just rumours.

One thing I can say without spoiling the movie: that little Lego set, 76008, makes no sense whatsoever

Shame; I really wanted to see that flame throwing golf cart on the big screen.

No, it says Tony Stark will return. Not Iron Man. My guess is he'll make a cameo in A2 but not be an actual Avenger.

Maybe he will become a member of SHEILD?

After seeing the movie i became slightly dissapointed about the sets that lego made. Without spoiling i can safely say there were many awesome sequences in the movie and it had some truly amazing characters locations and action that never made it into lego sets but would have been brilliant. Don't even get me started on the smallest iron man 3 set!!!! that was what really infuriated me the most.

The most awesome sequence in the film and the most largest with tony stark, rhodey and all of the iron man aromours versus killian and the extremis guys would have made the most epic set ever!!! But instead we got The "mandarin" in an improvised and ill designed "armoured car" the iron man armour was cool and as it happens used in the real scene. I understand that lego were most likely told that the mandarin was the real main villian so probably assumed there would be some sort of battle between Iron man and mandarin. They could have made the huge action sequence without spoilers and anyways lego has made spoilerish sets before based on movies. I mean they have made sets based on the hobbit part 2 including potential spoilers albeit accidentally. The film was brilliant the action and story was sharp as tack and the humour was side splittingly funny. Especially our dear friend Trevor Slattery!!

There are a list of sequences that should have been lego sets:

End battle sequence

Airforce one rescue

Tenessee fight sequence with brandt and savin that was brilliant. The water tower collapsing would have been a great feature as would the exploding bar.

The "mandarin's" mansion: This set wouldn't have even been spoilerish if it had been a mansion with mandarin (the supposed villain not the actor) and some bad guys for tony to ight when he breaks in and out of the mansion.

Maya hansen would have been good to have as would savin, tony in his lumberjack shirt and aim t -shirt, Loads of extremis guys and normal henchmen and of course rhodey without armour and patriot and all the iron man armours in the film. Or at least the more memorable ones: silver one, gemeni, spike covered one, silver centurion and of course igor (hulk buster style one)

Airforce one was so heavily shown in the trailers and tv spots that the lego set would have came of no suprise and been quite the eye catcher of the range.

The film itself was the best iron man film of the three and perhaps the best standalone marvel movie matching even avengers at times. In my opinion of course.

Now now remember the last line of the movie, before the little credit scene, "I am Iron Man". So if Tony is back, I guarantee so is Iron Man.

That's....odd. A bit weird to just pull these two characters out of the context of their universe.

I thought they where owned by Fox . Quicksilver had a tiny cameo in Origins Wolverine didn't he?

Assuming this is true, maybe he was such a minor detail in Origins that Fox was like 'w/e, Disney can have him'?

Hopefully it's a cluing to a potential universe-linking between The Avengers and whatever happens in DOFP.

EDIT: Sorry, accidentally wrote DOTP.

Well, Yahoo isn't the most reliable news source out there, so I'll take all of these with a grain of salt. Yeah, it's nice to see additional characters appear in the Avengers MCU, but TBH I'd rather see "more Avenger appropriate characters" like the Black Panther, Ant-man and Wasp (even if they already have a movie in the works), Spiderman, etc. Though if it is a "potential universe-linking" between Avengers and DOFP then I wouldn't mind at all. :sweet:

Just saw Iron Man 3, my only complaint is that Gemini wasn't really featured. And is probably dead. My precious precious sub-orbital suit, I will never forget you Mark 39.

On the matter of the twins, I really hope that is wrong. One, because I want Wasp first. I can forgive them for not having Wasp in the first Avengers movie, but I need her by 2016 or heads will roll. She is a founding Avenger, and the best character in A: EMH. (the series that got me interested in comics) She is one of Marvel's oldest characters, and frankly deserves to be there. The twins also have their whole origins tied to the X-Men, Magneto, and mutants, none of which can exist in the MCU. And not merely because of the whole rights thing, but because it doesn't fit in. People would have assumed the Hulk and Thor were mutants for instance. There won't have been a mystery. Mutants would probably have been recruited by SHIELD and Loki, why waste the resource? It just doesn't seem compatible now.

Speaking of Wasp, I heard a rumor that the Ant-Man movie will be split between two time periods, one in the present day with Lang, and one in the sixties with Pym. Has anyone else heard of that rumor?

Personally I love the idea of Quicksilver and Scarlet witch being in Avengers 2. Both those characters have been Avengers since the 60's, so its not a huge shock. The line up so far is:

Captain America

Iron man

Hulk

Thor

Ant man

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. That leaves room for Wasp and some others. Not sure whether Hawkeye and Black widow will return though.

^Don't forget the potential inclusion of Iron Patriot in the Avengers 2 roster.

Wasn't the Iron Patriot armor destroyed along with the others? It was never shown what happened to it, but if Jarvis ran a protocol to destroy all armors, wouldn't that include IP? Then again, I don't think Jarvis had control over the IP armor, so it's anyone's guess. I certainly hope not.

I think the second part of your analysis is correct.

Rhodey flew off with the President, so unless he delivered him really fast and immediately got out of the suit I would guess it didn't blow up
