The Legonater Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I've got to agree, this trailer in itself doesn't present a whole lot that we haven't already seen. That said, Bishop is looking pretty cool, and I'm excited to see more. Back to the Cap trailer for a second, I really like the way they've been handling Phase 2. One of the things I was most worried about after watching the Avengers was that this massive event would be completely brushed aside. Thankfully they've been doing just the opposite - Iron Man 3 in many ways explored the aftermath of the Battle of New York on a personal level, with Stark in a much weakened state and finding himself locked in his basement to survive. Thor 2 definitely seems to be exploring the aftermath on a interplanetary level, with forces rallying to attack Earth. Cap 2 seems to be exploring the aftermath on a political level, what with all the changes to SHEILD. Even Agents of SHEILD has been showing the aftermath on a civilian level, with more people with superpowers coming to light, and the truth demanding to get out. It makes me really curious as to whether or not GotG will deal with this or not, and if so, how. Quote
Tanma Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I would like GoTG to refer to a small backwater planet that just drove off a Chitauri invasion in like an hour, if nothing else. But hopefully there would be more. Quote
The Joker1 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Watched the midnight double bill of Thor/Thor 2 last night, The new one is brilliant, A lot of unexpected twists, Some good humor and excellent fight scenes.Just as a marvel film should be Quote

How did you get to see it early! But was it better than iron man 3? I mean I loved iron man 3, but do you think this will sit over better with fans? Quote
Mr Man Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 It's released a week early in Britain. I'm going to see it soonish. Quote
Ceroknight Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Content wise, DOFP had really little but I like the solemn atmosphere Quote
Piranha Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 You said Ultron is a threat they will see coming in The Avengers sequel, can you elaborate on that? "...No, I can’t. But it will be clear why they have come back together in this film. Which I hope kind of makes it clear retroactively why they didn’t get together at the end of Iron Man 3. Why they didn’t get together to help Thor save London in this film. Some of that will be clear in Captain America : The Winter Soldier. And I think I’ve said that Cap 2 is the link between Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron." Interesting part of an interview with Kevin Feige. I know this has been discussed, and it will be interesting to see how that is shown in TWS. Also in the interview he hints to stay for the post credits scene in TDW. Quote
Tanma Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 You always stay for the post credit scene, even agents of SHIELD does it. I remember that Iron Man 3's credits took forever to end, they just went on and on. Quote
The Legonater Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Where I viewed Iron Man 3 they honestly fast forwarded through the credits. Also, from what I've heard, Thor may have two post-credit scenes, ala the Avengers. Quote
The Joker1 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Yeah in Thor 2 there were 2 post credits scenes, I wont spoil them here though. Quote
Tanma Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 You ever have one of those moments where you accidentally are spoiled for a post credit scene, and it makes you obsess about it until you check the wiki for the whole movie's plot? Cause yeah, that just happened to me. Thank you Marvel Wiki, for updating right when my craving was at its greatest. Quote

I remember that Iron Man 3's credits took forever to end, they just went on and on. Yeah only true fans know to stay for the credits. When the movie ends and a bunch of people get up to leave I always go, "It's not over! You guys aren't really fans if you don't know about the post credits!!" Marvelfan120 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 it's also traditional to stay for the credits for all movies if you consider yourself part of the entertainment industry... It's a show of respect to the people taht worked on the film Quote

I posted it that way instead of a spoiler, because it sounded extra good. Quote
Sam892 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Just watched Thor the Dark World yesterday, one of the best Marvel films. Absolutely incredible, maybe my favourite next to The Avengers. Quote
Faefrost Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 OMG! Today's Marvel announcement is kinda huge. They announced a deal for 5 new original series for Netflix. 4 thirteen episode TV series. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, that will then culminate and combine into a 5th Defenders mini series. Welcome to Hells Kitchen folks! http://www.aintitcool.com/node/65010 Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Very excited about this news!!! Hopefully they turn out some really great quality stuff. I was hoping for a Daredevil film, but a TV show offers so much more potential (if it's done right). Bring on 2015!! Quote
Spider-Man Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Lets hope they are of similar quality to DC's cartoons. I like how they are going to be a bit more gritty! Can't wait for some King Pin action Quote
Galaxy Explorer Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Saw Thor tonight and loved it! There was also an extended Captain America trailer included which looked pretty good. If you see this, make sure you stay for the entire credits. I missed SAJ at the end of the first Iron Man when I saw it in the theatre! Quote
Tanma Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I'm both excited nd annoyed at the announcement. I'm glad that there are going to new MCU material and that it will be in a new format, but I can't see it since I don't have Netflix. Quote
Ultron Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Thor was awesome! It was a little fast paced but overall I really liked it. It's a lot better than the first one. And we finally got a BA villain! It was quite funny and that first credits scene was awesome!! Well, as long as you know what they're alluding to. If you didn't it might seem kind of strange. Okay it was strange regardless but I digress. And Loki was amazing yet again Quote

I'm glad that there are going to new MCU material and that it will be in a new format, but I can't see it since I don't have Netflix. Netflix only have Exclusivity for a while before Marvel release it on DVD and Blu ray. Besides you can always sign up for a netflix membership, use the free month and cancel it immediately. That way it will cost you nothing. If you have serval email accounts you can repeat the process and get free netflix , I know several people who do this method. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 .....or just pay the $7.99 a month. It's really not that much. Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Going to see Thor in the morning. In 3D so I can see the extended Captain America stuff. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Wow...just wow...loved the new Thor movie. It was a bit fast paced as mentioned above, and I felt it could use a bit more establishing shots in the beginning, however it really picked up and became amazing as it went along. I'll save the rest for the spoiler tags, but remember Agents of Shield fans, the next episode is said to deal with the aftermath of the new Thor movie! Oh and now I really wish we had Lego sets of this film--at least for the dark elves! Anywho, spoiler tags etc. Very good movie. I thought that it was a bit off in the beginning, like it needed to be established more, as it was going rather quick, but once the dark elves attacked Asgard it really became good. The cameo with Captain America was well placed and hilarious. Though I did comment to my friend that it seems in Asgard they bring swords to guns fights! On a note of the dark elves, I really liked the look of them; and I think they would have made great minifigures (Hope they will; come on late set ala bat/tumbler). Loki's prison kept giving me a Silence of the Lambs feeling (Which is perfect since I'm a Fannibal), and I loved the part where his illusion Loki disappears to reveal the true beat down Loki. By far the best parts were the fights on Earth though, especially Thor's hammer and it's inaccurate GPS system! It just could not find Thor! The inclusion of the portals to the other realms was great since it made the fight unique and crazy at the same time--best thing being the frost monster coming to Earth (He's Shield's problem now!). I did feel that the death of Malekith was a bit extreme though; it took me a minute to figure out what was going on, but if you think about it, it was pretty horrific to portal parts of his body around (In a similar fashion, his henchman monster's death was way out of Marvel character too, considering little kids watch this). Overall, I found this Thor to be more violent then any of the other Marvel films, which put me back a bit actually (Especially the fake out with Thor's hand, thank god that wasn't true!). I'm not against the violence per say, but it was just out of place considering this is the same film that shows the two jets returning from certain doom, and in the same universe of the Avengers where the only death in the alien invasion was Coulson (Though even that is a stretch). Anyways, it was a great film, and I'm happy Loki is still alive--I think there'd be angry mobs through the streets if he was ever killed off! Quote
