First proper trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Surprisingly this looks pretty good, but I'm really not happy with Rhino being little more than a man in a mech suit.

*EDIT* Other notable details include a scene which hints at Green Goblin and shows an area of Oscorp with Goblin's glider and, interestingly, Doctor Octopus' mechanical arms. Could Doc Ock be in The Amazing Spider-Man 3? Edited by Star Wars NutJob 69

Okay, I'm getting excited, looks like we are actually going to learn the backstory. Though I thought that was the Vulture's Wings next to Doc Oct's arms.

I do worry that if the movies go on long enough Spider-Man is going to end up very outnumbered by villains. Hopefully Sony has the rights to other heroes that could fit into the ASM world, otherwise he will be in big trouble if the movies go on long enough for the Sinister Six to form. Does anyone know exactly what rights they have?

Personally, I'd like for Hawkeye and Black Widow (and heck, even more Maria Hill) to show up in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. so they can get some development going on. I mean, yes, they'd overshadow the main team for those episodes, but frankly the show is playing its cards WAY too fast, revealing things really, really quickly, leaving fewer and fewer mysteries to keep the viewers watching. A chance to delve into Barton and Romanov's past would both slow that process while simultaneously adding those two characters' mysteries into the mix.

Then again, the plot is speeding by SO fast in AoS that I have to wonder if it's not getting a second season, or if perhaps it's only getting another half-season before ending for good. :sceptic:

I haven't really considered the speed yet of AoS as one of its flaws, partly because I mostly see the show as a springboard for a rebooted Knifefish universe to write about. (finished the initial trilogy today, it takes place between episode 2 and 3, episode 6 and 7, and after 9. Might post it sometime, possibly on a site designed for fan fiction) But ignoring my writings, I feel like though the show progressively gets better, though it still isn't too great. I don't know exactly why, though even a continuity nerd like me is getting tired of the movie references. In fact that might be part of the problem tying into the pacing, I don't feel like the show has really started to become its own thing yet. Episode 2 had a Hydra Weapon, Episode 8 an Asgardian Staff, Episode 9's plot was influenced by Thor 2, Episode 6 a Chitauri disease, even the Centipede Project runs on Extremist, the Superhero Serum, and gamma radiation. (Still waiting for Simmons to develop alien electricity powers by the way) Now I love that we get to see how the movies are influencing the world at large, don't get me wrong. But I would like to see something untapped.

Of course, it ain't an MCU film, but judging how y'all are talking about ASM2 and stuff, Bryan Singer has announced another X-Men film! It's coming out in 2016, and it's called X-Men Apocalypse. Uh, I wonder where this one will take place.

Wherever Wolverine is.

I'm just joking, but seriously, all but one of those movies seem to revolve around him. It's why I can't get into X-Men, there is just too much Wolverine. He doesn't interest me in the first place, and he has too much exposure.

On the matter of the MCU, of those who have seen Thor 2, what did you think? Why sister saw it and loved it, though she admits it was not a particularly good film. I'll see it other way, but I am interested in what you think.

I actually didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I liked it a little better than the first. I got bored through some of it, and didn't really care much for the plot or characters. I'm in the minority though.

I loved Thor 2, thought it was a lot of fun. Malekith's motives were a bit unclear, but other than that I really liked it.

As for AoS, it doesn't seem to be moving very fast at all. I mean, Graviton was said to be the main villain, but he's been in one episode, and that was just his origin. The Cenitpede arc has only showed up twice, the second appearance not really answering anything fast. While the Monster of the Week formula works well considering the series, I'd like to see more of the meta-arc play out.

AoS1 was good, but they tried to do much in too little time with it, and I feel like this one will be good but also have the same problems.

Almost positive they are Vulture's wings.

After seeing people suggest this multiple times, I decided to re-watch the trailer and pay it much more attention. From this I was able to tell that those are indeed Vulture's wings, rather than Green Goblin's glider. They are definitely going for the Sinister Six in these films, which should certainly be very interesting.

I thought that at first, but as more films come out, seeing a centre that the events happen around, especially a centre that is effectively immortal.

Still other characters need so much more development, Shadowcat, Iceman, and Colossus are returning in DoFP and I'm not really interested especially compared with the development of the FC mutants (even 1 film to 3 for the others).

Thor 2 was good fun. The action was great. Loki was great. You got your money's worth.

This is not to say it was without flaws. The Romance scenes win the award for being almost but not quite as horribly awkward as the virtually identicle scenes from Attack of the Clones. I swore at one point that Thor was going to start talking about sand. And it is all on Natalie Portman, who once again seems wildly out of place in this movie. What makes it worse is the obvious chemistry between Chris Hemsworths Thor and Jaime Alexander's Sif. That was a romance I would want to watch. Natalie Portman in her normal cold fish stare? Not so much.

The dark elves and particularly Ecclesten's Malekith are painfully under developed. They are the Chitauri mumbling through Bane's mask. They took a great actor who plays wonderful villains and made him unrecognizable, incomprehensible and then gave him nothing to do. Granted Loki makes up for a lot of it.

I thought the chemistry was fine. I actually recall making a remark during the movie that Natalie Portman had improved a lot since Attack of the Clones.

Malekith was incomprehensible? He was under-developed, sure, but I could understand everything he said clearly.

I'm hoping that Osborn is more of a behind the scenes villain, as I worry that the film might become a bit busy. I think they can pull off three villains, but I still can't help but worry.

Age of Apocalypse eh? Well that sould certainly be interesting to see how they pull it of. As for the next. Amazing spider man, looks cool. I don't like the costume, it looks like its made of cheap fabric instead of spandex- ey type stuff. Just nit pickin here. Also, it looks like Electro gets his flying shocky platform!

Anyone else notice the Oscorp lab looks a lot like the Oscorp level from the lego marvel game?

Edit: oops I did it again!:oh:

Paul Rudd was cast as Ant Man! :sweet: I think he'll fit in quite nicely with RDJ and Mark Ruffalo and everybody!

Can't wait to see Rudd, RDJ, and Ruffalo together on screen! Another great casting by Marvel!
