BrickG Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 That's not entirely true. Maybe you can't be a complete good guy but you could be an anti hero. Venom kills people sometimes but he also has a good side. Same goes with deadpool. I don't think loki is an anti hero though. I'm using real world logic here. It's completely true. Venom is a murderer. Deadpool too. If they were around for reals we'd hunt them the heck down unlike the comics where for no good reason they tolerate them. "Oh you helped save the world so we'll ignore you killing all those innocent victims".... I consider true anti-heroes to do stuff that's more.. controversial. Like Wolverine kills but he doesn't tend to kill innocent people (I can't think of a time he did it knowingly and on purpose). He kills people who try to kill him and stuff. Venom has killed innocent people. Anti-hero? He's a murderer. :P Loki is a flat out murderer too. Killing people casually who don't try to hurt him and don't really have anything to do with anything. sologuy369 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Well venom is more of a suit/alter ego. There have been many incarnations of venom, so it depends on which venom Quote
Mr Man Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) Marvel's "Agent Carter" series confirmed New series. Edited January 23, 2014 by Mr Man Quote
Tanma Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Marvel's "Agent Carter" series confirmed New series. Yes. Hopefully this will tie into Zodiac from the short, since I can find no description of that plot. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Marvel's "Agent Carter" series confirmed New series. Umm. Who's that again? Quote
Tanma Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Peggy Carter from the first Captain America movie in the MCU? It is going to be a period piece I am guessing, taking place in the early days of SHIELD. Quote
Faefrost Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Marvel's "Agent Carter" series confirmed New series. Now that's not gonna get too confusing for the casual viewers, once they introduce the OTHER Agent Carter over in Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 ^ Are you referring to Agent 13? If so then I agree, though I'm sure they'll establish a very definitive timeline for the show in order to avoid confusion to those who just watch to watch. Quote
Ultron Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 To whoever suggested Mike Peterson was going to turn into Deathlok, you were correct! Marvel just revealed it: http://marvel.com/news/tv/2014/1/23/21812/deathlok_sets_his_sights_on_marvels_agents_of_shield. Also another small announcement, Ant-Man will now premiere on July 17, 2015 instead of July 31. I'm alright with that. Quote
The Legonater Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Sick! I'm a bit disappointed they're revealing these heroes/villains over the internet rather than just surprising us in the show. It's great seeing Blizzard, Graviton, etc... but there's definitely less shock if we know going in. Quote

The_Chosen_1 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 This is so awesome!!! (Though yes, I agree that leaving it a surprise would have been cooler. Still very welcome news, though!!) Quote
BrickG Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Now if only I gave a darn about Deathlok . Give us something that's not 3rd tier. Quote
Ultron Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 *Possible Spoiler* Also they revealed that Sif is coming to Earth to hunt down Lorelei who is the younger sister of Enchantress! Hopefully this means that we will see Enchantress in the inevitable Thor 3. Her and Loki would work so well together. She may even become as popular as him with the fans! She's manipulative too and I think they would play off of each other quite nicely. I demand it now! Quote

I actually guessed one right?!? *huh* Still cool that they are turning him into an actual Marvel character. (And one I've always kinda like ever since I first encountered him back in the days of Benjamin J Grimm's Marvel Two in One tales) (PS for the Marvel Zombies, did anyone else realize that the facility that blew up and collapsed at the beginning of Avengers was Project Pegasus? They kind of reference it as such in an offhand way at the very start of AoS. Once you make the connection you realize that it was astonishingly accurate to the old comics, and that long curving tunnel that Colby Smothers was chasing Loki in makes sense.) Oh and the upcoming Sif episode of AoS. Not only do we get an actual marvel Hero from both comics and movies guest starring for once. We actually get a named comic book villain. Lorelei. (I didn't say A list villain, now did I. It's still AoS we be talkin' about here.) Quote

It's great seeing Blizzard, Graviton, etc... but there's definitely less shock if we know going in. I think they kind of have to, to drum up fan interest. AoS is in a weird place right now. It's ABC's top rated new show. But it's ratings have had a slow steady decline. Mainly from complaints along the line of "It's Marvel NCIS, just without the Marvel". The fans have been upset at the almost total lack of actual Marvel Universe connections, references and appearances. So they have to kind of throw it out there "see! see! we have been building up to real comic book good stuff!" Assuming they continue this build up, my purely speculative predictions regarding Skye (hey I guessed right with Deathlok, so you never know). I'll go out on a limb and float the theory that Skye's origin is in some way related to the Kree. Maybe by way of the InHumans? That would pull her away from being another Asgardian, while at the same time it would let them do some teasing using her story for GoG and Avengers Phase 3 after that. Quote
Mr Man Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Peggy Carter from the first Captain America movie in the MCU? It is going to be a period piece I am guessing, taking place in the early days of SHIELD. I hope it doesn't fall for the 3rd tier and OC stuff like AoS did but The implication behind the one shot was that Stark and the Howling Commandos are going to be in it (possibly relating to the deaths of Montgomery Falsworth and Jim Morita. But the problem is would Sebastian Stan, Neal McDonough, JJ Field, Bruno Ricci, Kenneth Choi, Derek Luke or Dominic Cooper go to TV. Admittedly I only recognise JJ Fields who is a TV actor anyway. As for the Deathlock thing, I don't care what name he gets really, Mike is one of the best things about AoS. Quote
TheOneBrick Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Not surprised, it's not his creation. He only appears in Marvel movies where he created the characters. Quote

As for the Deathlock thing, I don't care what name he gets really, Mike is one of the best things about AoS. AoS would be perfect if it consistently dwelled in Marvel's third tier. Heck some of Marvel's best books thrived there. That's what the old classic "Marvel Team Up" and "Marvel Two in One" books were. Take a known fixed character ie Spiderman and the Thing, and have them deal with the assorted C lister or below of the month. And they were wonderful for it. They gave the fans of the then major properties, Spider-Man and FF (this was right when "New X Men was happening, so they hadn't hit big yet) introductions to such a broad and wild range of other Marvel stuff. Horror, Werewolf by Night and Morpheus, space, the original Guardians of the Galaxy, Quasar, Thundra, even Spider Woman. And AoS would work amazingly well with that same sort of formula. Not surprised, it's not his creation. He only appears in Marvel movies where he created the characters. I thought Thanos, Drax the Collector and possibly Gamora all fall under his editorial reign, which is what I believe the requirement was? Heck technically Groot and the Guardians of the Galaxy name certainly do? (I think Star Lord and Rocket Racoon were created when Shooter was in charge?) Quote
Tanma Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 So it looks like the reason Sif will be in SHIELD is because she is after Lorelei, who is the Enchantress's sister in the comics. So we may be setting up the Enchantress for Thor 3. Quote

Sorry, been a while since I posted here. I admit she might not be ready for the main villain, but I can definitely see her as a certain Frost Giant's second in command, given the end of Thor 2. He is going to need all the help he can get pulling his "heist" off, because he can't fool everyone forever. I mean, he even sits in the throne different than Odin. When he has to reveal himself, he will need help to maintain control over the throne. Quote

Having Enchantress in Thor 3 just seems like the logical thing to do. We have no female villains, plus she's an asgardian so she wouldn't have to come from some other planet o realm. It would also spicen up the thor/sif/jane love thing going on. Enchantress wants Thor and maybe she'll even kill Jane. A battle between Enchantress and Sif though would also be awesome. Quote

Agreed, I am just hoping that if they use her that she will have her own goals, and not be reduced to a minion. Her thing for Thor could work in favor of that, though I hope she has more to her character than that. The Dark Elf guy didn't exactly have a rich and deep character, at least to me. In other news I am hopeful about Deathlok, especially since I liked Mike already. It is always good to get a comics character, and it is welcomed to know SHIELD has had a plan for him since the beginning. Hopefully he doesn't get too much angst as a cyborg though, as we get enough of that from Coulson. My question though is if Deathlok will be connected to Winter Soldier. Not to spoil anything, but Winter Soldier is a cyborg with a mechanical limb. For a young universe like the MCU with technology about our level, it is possible that such advancements would have a common source. And given the reference in Seeds, I suspect Winter Soldier is being set up. Quote
