There will be four 10-12 episode series based around some of Marvel's street level characters. The project is being made for Netflix. Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and (oddly enough) Jessica Jones. Which will all lead into a fifth series Defenders. It was just announced yesterday that they are to be filmed in NYC in Hell's Kitchen. I figure it will be something along the lines of WB's Arrow series.

As you said there is also talk of an ABC or ABCFamily 'Agent Carter" based on Peggy Carter during WW2. I'm not sure on that one. I can't really see the appeal unless they use it as a vehicle to introduce the Invaders.

I was under the impression that the Peggy Carter series will be set after WWII and continue where the one shot left off. It would revolve around the creation of S.H.I.E.L.D and star a lot of the Howling Commandos. At least that's the impression I got.

I was thinking about this yesterday how post Avengers the quality of the one shots have increased ( not to say the originals were bad ) but most now serve as a pilot for a pilot. Item 47 was basically a pilot for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D ( the two bank robbers were meant to originally be lead characters in the show, but the actors dropped out), and the Agent Carter one shot for the Peggy Carter series in development. The only one that doesn't seem to follow this is All Hail the King, but I get the feeling they want to continue this story in either Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D or another Iron man film.

I think that is the most likely and logical approach.

I finally got the chance to see Thor: The Dark World last night. The Marvel Cinematic Universe can't get much better than this. Malekith is a great villain, and I like that it mostly took place in Asgard and it's surrounding realms. Totally gets me stoked for The Winter Soldier and Guardians.

How is Malekith a great villain? He was your classic "barely developed more of a plot device" than actual character. He wasn't bad. But he wasn't good either. Loki still stole the show. :P

To be fair, he was supposed to be more developed but his scenes were cut :/ But you're right he wasn't the best. I still liked him but would've liked a little more development from him. Loki did steal the show though. You just can't hate the guy! Can't wait for Thor 3 and what that has in store for us.

He's not Hammer . That's all a Marvel villain needs to be any good .

To be honest I thought Justin Hammer was one of the better parts of Iron man 2. Whiplash is the worst out of the two, Mickey Rouke was so wooden and such a stereotype.

Marvel desperately needs better villains, any most of there iconic villains are at other studios. At the moment the MCU really only has Loki. Iron monger, Killian, Whiplash and Maleketh are dead Abomination is in Prison and Red Skull is MIA, hopefully Winter Solider and Ultron kick megablocks. Although I'm guessing after WS the Winter Solider will be more of an antihero.

Yep, see, that's the problem. When you make a big production movie they usually kill of the villain in the end for some reason.(Closure?) So, unlike the comics, the jails in the MU won't be getting full anytime soon. They have to work there why through each heroes roster of villains, so evantually iron man well by fighting unicorn and Howard the duck!

I'm quite glad they've been going this route. Movies aren't like comics, and I don't think even comics successfully pull off the same villain coming back again and again. In movies it would get really stale really fast.

Just look at the X-Men trilogy. The second one worked because it wasn't really Magneto as the villain for a lot of the film, so it was fresh. Magneto as the villain wasn't the only problem with the third one by far, but he was one of the problems - we'd seen that already. Having the same villain come back with basically the same motives or "for revenge" or whatever would get really dull in movies.

Whenever they do leave somebody alive, I roll my eyes and think "great, they'll pull him back out again a couple of installments later when they've totally run out of ideas."

I'd be perfectly alright with Ultron coming back a few times though because he's awesome and never dies!

No, I'm with Cloney on this, and I think the Avengers movies in particular should have separate villains. I know some people where disappointed when they heard Loki wouldn't be appearing at all in Avengers 2 - I was shocked that they'd think he would even show up. Loki served his purpose with the Avengers, and while his appearance in Thor 2 was well done, I don't want him in the Avengers movies anytime soon.

The Avengers movies should be about the biggest threats. That's the whole reason Thanos has been pushed back, because once he comes in any further threats will just be diminished. If Ultron were to be defeated and then show up in another movie, it wouldn't be amazing. It'd be ridiculous, because he's no longer a threat. It's the whole reason the 'didn't find the body' trope just doesn't work very well with villains. It's just repetitive. People wanting to see the Avengers fighting larger and larger threats, not the same one five times over.

Well to be fair, Ultron is probably the most deadly of the avengers' villains. He always comes back more powerful than before because he's essentially technology and always upgrading to deadlier levels. I wouldn't want him to come back anytime soon though. Maybe like Avengers 5: Masters of evil

Not to spoil anything, but try and find a copy of the Marvel one shot that came on the Thor the Dark World BluRay. "Hail to the King". It deals with some of Iron Mans jailed foes, and it is a blast!

New AoS tonight. Of interest is Agent John Garrett entering the picture. Which leaves open the possibility for another more well known character associated with him to maybe put in a Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance. Garrett's Nemesis (beyond Hydra and Strucker) is the international assassin Electra. who Marvel just got the rights to back from Fox recently.

No idea, but was that Enchantress at the end? I was excited enough for Sif, this is going to be pretty sweet.

That said, this was another great episode, and it's definitely starting to seem that there's a lot more to Coulson's revival than it seems... which just about brings us back to where we started.

No, but close. That was her sister, Lorelei!

Interesting. That's certainly in keeping with the general amount of lesser villains the show has been using. Still, if Enchantress does show up in Thor 3, this is an interesting prelude to it.

Also I've sort of come up with a new theory on skye and her "powers" or whatever they are. This may be out there but is it possible that Skye could become She-hulk. She fits the appearance part other than the green skin of course. And the GH serum thing was glowing green when they took it out of it's case. And in GH, the G could stand for Gamma. Maybe it's possible the serum could activate the powers within Skye and turn her into she-hulk. What's also interesting about this theory is that the clairvoyant could be the leader. He was sorta in the hulk movie! Maybe I'm crazy but it would be pretty awesome if she turned into she-hulk  Also, She-hulk came to be because she received a blood transfusion from hulk when she was wounded...Maybe that body the GH stuff was coming from had gamma radiated blood or something?

I would love that. We need an awesome female villain. Nebula is coming but we need more!

I have to be honest, I thought they might have used blood from some alien/mutated human, it is a comic book thing to do. Still, I have to say I am not sure what GH is. It seemed blue and was humanoid-like, so maybe Kree, probably not Jotun. But no alien race comes to mind that has the initials GH, and as far as I could find no Kree has those initials.

I have no idea. Gamma Radiation is my best guess as of now. I'm just really interested to see where this show is going. I quite like it. I love that Sif is coming in too. I just wish they would reveal the Clairvoyant!! :wall:

I think She-Hulk is pretty unlikely. For one, Skye just... doesn't seem like She-Hulk. At all. If they're going to turn her into a comic character, I'm sure there's one more fitting they could find.

As for the Clairvoyant, I personally don't want him or her revealed too quickly. The past season has been almost totally devoted to the Clairvoyant's plots, and the reveal should be a season finale thing, if not later.

The GH may simply be a play on the well known MGH from the marvel universe. (Mutant Growth Hormone).

The two best theories I have seen regarding the blue alien are;

1. The Alien is Kree. Skye is part Kree or in some way related to the Kree. And among other things it jump starts her abilities whatever they may be. Ms. Marvel? Mantis? Something involving the Inhumans? (The T in T.A.H.I.T.I. might stand for Terrigen.) This is the most likely as it allows for AoS to somewhat easily connect to Guardians of the Galaxy.

2. The Alien might be Atlantian. Which opens up all sorts of other potential. Is he in some way tied to Skye (she did turn a bit bluish for a moment). Namorita? That's an obscure enough character for AoS.

I was tempted by the idea they might be from Atlantis, but since Universal owns Namor last I checked I do not think they will go that route.

I watched a marathon of the existing MCM films, plus AoS ready for CA:WS and ended up with some questions or musings.

I wonder how Ghost Rider will fit in with the wider MCM? Will hell be another realm? Will the various daemons simply be 'aliens' like the gods and dark elves?

Will any justification be given to why Ward and May weren't in the Avengers despite (in AoS) being as good as Romanoff and Barton?

Why wernt Falcon and WM / IP in the Avengers?

Will the AoS cast be in CA:WS?

If Spider-Man does end up in the MCM I think he would work better in the 'street' level AoS rather than the 'cosmic' level Avengers stuff.

Who owns Kingpin? Is he part of the Punisher / Daredevil franchise (so Marvel) or the Spider-Man franchise (so Sony)?

Will any of the IH characters (Ross, Leader, that psychologist guy) appear again?
