Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Typical that Marvel tease us with that footage and show Batroc, but we don't get to see the guy in action. Even so, it looks like this film will be entirely brilliant if that footage is anything to go by. I can't wait to see it in cinemas in 3 weeks. Quote
Leo604 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) I'd just go watch one of GSP's fights and then imagine that with a lot more jumping. EDIT: Grammar fix. Edited March 9, 2014 by Leo Crimson Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I get the feeling that this is something that I should probably know, but what or who is GSP? Quote
Ultron Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I get the feeling that this is something that I should probably know, but what or who is GSP? George St-Pierre, the guy who is playing Batroc in Captain America 2. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) George St-Pierre, the guy who is playing Batroc in Captain America 2. Oh OK. Thanks for the information. I wonder how much they'll focus on the jumping aspect of Batroc during his fight (or fights, assuming there may well be more than just the one) during the film. I know he's called The Leaper and all, but I still feel it would be rather ridiculous seeing a grown man jump around everywhere in the middle of a fight. I'm sure we'll see a fair amount of jumping from Batroc, but I hope that they don't overdo it. *EDIT* 300 posts at last. Shouldn't take too long to get 200 more and be able to change my account name at this rate. Edited March 9, 2014 by Star Wars NutJob 69 Quote
Masked Builder Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Will any justification be given to why Ward and May weren't in the Avengers despite (in AoS) being as good as Romanoff and Barton? Why wernt Falcon and WM / IP in the Avengers? Will the AoS cast be in CA:WS? If Spider-Man does end up in the MCM I think he would work better in the 'street' level AoS rather than the 'cosmic' level Avengers stuff. Who owns Kingpin? Is he part of the Punisher / Daredevil franchise (so Marvel) or the Spider-Man franchise (so Sony)? They're not as cool. I'm also pretty sure they're not origionally in the MCU. Cap finds Falcon in this movie and recruts/befriends him, WM/IP actor wanted to much money. I hope not. That would be strange, they kept them out of Thor 2. I know Spiderman has been very involved with the X-men in the comics. I don't think Punisher/Dardevil are owned by Marvel, Spidey is. Quote
The Legonater Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 No, Spidey is definitely owned by Sony. Hence Sony making another Spidey movie this year, and no Oscorp in the Avengers. Quote
Ultron Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) I don't think Punisher/Dardevil are owned by Marvel, Spidey is. Punisher and Daredevil definitely are, seeing as how Daredevil's getting a netflix series later this year (?) Kevin Feige also stated he'd like punisher to possibly appear in a daredevil reboot so he may appear in the netflix series. Edited March 10, 2014 by Luna Lovegood Quote

Ultron Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Wasn't he just sold back though? That'd be amazing, but no. Quote
Mr Man Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 But is Kingpin part of the Daredevil or Spiderman franchise? Quote
Leo604 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) But is Kingpin part of the Daredevil or Spiderman franchise? I'd say Daredevil; if I recall correctly, Fox had to buy him out from Sony to put him in the Daredevil movie. So that should also mean the Kingpin is with Marvel as well, which is great for all of us. Edited March 10, 2014 by Leo Crimson Quote
Faefrost Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Punisher and Daredevil definitely are, seeing as how Daredevil's getting a netflix series later this year (?) Kevin Feige also stated he'd like punisher to possibly appear in a daredevil reboot so he may appear in the netflix series. Fox had Punisher and Daredevil. They reverted to Marvel back in October. That should include among other things Punisher, Daredevil, Electra, Bullseye and Kingpin. I think Blade and Ghost Rider may have also returned to Marvels control. Rumor is Marvel was willing or offering to extend Fox's Hold on all of them in exchange for the cosmic villains from Fantastic Four being returned. Galactus, Silver Surfer and possibly Annihilus. Fox didn't go for it. I think SONY's ownership of Spider-Man has been wildly overblown. Right now they just have the movie rights. Even the merchandising rights from SONY's movies are in Marvel's hands. (Hence why Lego released a set with the Jamie Fox style Electro.) Quote
BrickG Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Ward and May also aren't as good as Black Widow and Hawkeye. Ward and May seem to struggle against normal humans. They'd have died in the attack on New York City :P. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Cap finds Falcon in this movie and recruts/befriends him, WM/IP actor wanted to much money. Is there a source for this? It's the first I'm hearing of it, and seeing as he was in IM3 (and will be in Ultron), I'd be surprised if it was the case. Quote

It's the first I'm hearing of it, and seeing as he was in IM3 (and will be in Ultron), I'd be surprised if it was the case. I heard that they had the option of including War Machine or Pepper, and they went with Pepper. Quote
Ultron Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Another solid episode! But are they going after Nick Fury or the Clairvoyant? And May is in on the secret! I bet Fury sent her there to keep an eye on him! The plot thickens! This season feels so long though with all of the breaks! >.< REALLY looking forward to next tuesdays exclusive behind the scenes! Age of Ultron Sneek Peak! HELL YEAH! But if they just play the teaser trailer I'll be really mad...lol Quote
Tanma Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I don't know, the episode didn't work for me. I think Sif is the movie equivalent of Anya Corazon to me. I am positive I would like her, and I am sure she would be one of my favorites, but every time I read/see her I don't feel it. Quote
The Legonater Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I liked it, but Sif definitely felt a little stiff this episode. That said, there general chemistry between the cast feels a lot better lately. On that note, I'm pretty glad that whole May/Ward thing is over. That made no sense at all. Quote
montgocloud Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I think that Marvel's Agents of SHIELD is definitely picking up. We're finally on a path to get some answers to the piles of questions that the show has thrown at us. Also, I was watching the Avengers the other day when I noticed something interesting: Coulson's hero is Captain America, who, like Coulson, was an optimistic hero who presumably died and was resurrected. I think it would be interesting to see some parallels drawn between the two and how their resurrection effects their optimism in the upcoming Winter Soldier tie-in episodes. Quote
BrickG Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Is Coulson appearing in Winter Soldier? Or the next Avengers? Quote
Ultron Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Is Coulson appearing in Winter Soldier? Or the next Avengers? Nope. Not unless they've lied to us to keep it a secret. Quote
Leo604 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Nope. Not unless they've lied to us to keep it a secret. I don't see much of a point for Coulson to show up in TWS either. Avengers 2 maybe. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Is Coulson appearing in Winter Soldier? Or the next Avengers? I would think its safe to say that Coulson will never show up in another MCU movie after his death in Avengers. Yeah he's back on Agents of Sheild, but there in lies the problem--he's back. There's no way to re-introduce him to a movie without a lengthy portion spent on him (Ergo; why is he back? How is he alive? Etc) and without compromising the previous films, mainly the Avengers. Coulson's death was what finally brought the Avengers together--bringing him back would conflict this (and in the process make the movie a Coulson story). There's also the audience perspective. In no way are the viewer numbers the same for Agents of Sheild and the Avengers movie. I would say the vast majority of viewers would say "Wha...?" If they see Coulson stepping out of his casket.
