Mr Man Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Well that was weird. May's a mole, I would have thought that Coulson would have figured that out, I did after episode three. Sky really can't do accents can she . Sky and Colson are going after Fury? Will Sam L Jackson be able to appear in a full episode of a TV series? Why can't Sitwell be on the team instead of Ward? The Asgardian plot was a bit of a waste of time, the threat lasted one whole episode. It would have been nicer id Sif had have used a copy of the gag thing Loki wore at the end of The Avengers. All men are weak? Welcome to the reverse 1950's :sigh:. '"Have you ever met any blue aliens"?'. . Quote

And yeah I thought the all men are weak thing was dumb. I don't think every man on this planet is as lustful as Lorelei claims. Quote
BrickG Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 SHIELD is still meh. It's got enough to keep me coming casually (if I didn't have it automatically recording I'd miss it). Hopefully season 2 fixes stuff and Marvel doesn't ditch it. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I've never bothered to watch Agents of SHIELD, though for a while I have been vaguely curious about it. Is watching it at all important to the MCU? Quote
Ultron Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) I've never bothered to watch Agents of SHIELD, though for a while I have been vaguely curious about it. Is watching it at all important to the MCU? Not as of yet. We're still unraveling Coulson's revival but it seems they're trying to introduce some alien species to the marvel universe which could prove important. They also set up a powerful villain if they wanted to use him in some movie. Other than that, not really. Although it could be interesting to learn what Fury is doing by resurrecting coulson and what that could mean for the MCU. Edited March 13, 2014 by Luna Lovegood Quote
Tanma Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Honestly? It doesn't really affect the movies, though they mentioned that the Abomination is kept frozen in Alaska. The impression I get is that outside of the movies the shorts are the most important. All Hail the King revealed the fates of the still living criminals in the MCU, and Agent Carter revealed who the originial leader of SHIELD was. Likewise, the characters in the short Item 47 were originally going to be the cast for Agents of SHIELD, before that was changed. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Well it's good to know that I'm not missing anything overly important by not watching Agents of SHIELD. However, I have not been able to watch the One Shots. Is there anywhere online that they can be watched? I'm particularly interested in All Hail The King; more Ben Kingsley is good and I'm curious about what has happened to some of the villains who are still alive. Quote
Tanma Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Seconded, I really need to see Agent Carter. I know they are supposed to be on the Blue-Ray disks as bonus features, but since I don't have that technology I can't confirm. Quote
Ultron Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Kevin Feige said that scarlet witch and quicksilver would not be inhumans. Quote
Tanma Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Then I move my bet to Asgardian/Human hybrids. That has happened in the comics before, Agamemnon I believe was Loki's son. And he in turn sired a legion of children. Quote
The Legonater Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I found a really bad recording of All Hail the King, but the sound was all there. I haven't seen anything for Agent Carter as of yet, though. I'm kind of wondering if Fury being off the grid will relate to TWS at all. Quote
just2good Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 We're getting Captain America 3 on May 6th, 2016! Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 It's going head to head with Superman vs. Batman? Best of luck to Warner Bros, wondering who the villain may be? Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 On the same day?? That's really, REALLY dumb I know that comic book fans as well as nerds & geeks in general (like me ) etc will see both but still, who does that? Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I completely agree, the DC cinematic universe is already so frail as it is, what's going to happen to them if this movie bombs? They're putting too much hope into Zack Snyder, it's too risky. Ah well, out of respect and curiosity I'll go see Sup's first. Hopefully Cap 3 isn't that good Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Wow. Pretty ballsy if neither studio shifts that release date; I'll be seeing Cap 3 first, but I'm sure the contest for 1st at the box office will be heated. Quote
montgocloud Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Uh-oh... DC flinched and Superman/Batman has been pushed up a week. Not too sure what this says about the confidence the studio has in their film. I mean when Captain America wins in the 'Mexican standoff' between both Superman AND Batman, you know there must be some problem. This also says something about the confidence Marvel/Disney has in the Winter Soldier. I hope it's well deserved confidence and the film is as good as it seems! Quote
Ultron Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) I KNEW DC would move up a week! Captain America isn't afraid to fight. DC asked for it in the first place by taking a date they knew Marvel would have. Looks like they're runnin scared. **EDIT** Apparently Sebastian Stan has signed a 9 movie deal with Marvel. We all know what means. *Cough* Civil war *Cough* Also: Adrian Pasdar was cast as Colonel Glenn Talbot in Agents of Shield. Edited March 14, 2014 by Luna Lovegood Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Well it's good to have some confirmation about more of Phase 3 now. I do wonder what storyline a 3rd Captain America film would follow, but I'm sure Marvel will be able to make it work very well. I'm still holding out hope that Dr Strange gets his movie announced sooner rather than later as well. I do find it funny and also pathetic that DC have moved Batman vs Superman up a week. I thought they wanted that date to be able to compete with Marvel? Quote

Right now Cap 2 is generating huge preliminary buzz. The trailers have people really wanting to see it. It looks to easily be one of Marvel's most successful movies. The follow up to it will probably be highly anticipated Whereas Superman Batman, while succesful financially is riding a wave of bad aftertaste and fan resentment from Man of Steel. Batfleck? Frail Skinny Wonder Woman? More Zach Snyder? Anyone else not feelin' it? Quote

Their fans are annoying, they are WAY too powerful, and DC acts like they're all they have. DC has other cooler heroes that they just can't bring to fruition because they suck. Quote

By that logic, Thor and the Hulk must suck since they're powerful too. The latter of which reduced the main antagonist in The Avengers to nothing more than a rag doll. Fans are annoying everywhere you turn, look no further than the ones that obsess over Loki. It doesn't make him any less of an interesting character (the only interesting Marvel villain so far) or others that have similar fans. Quote

That's why I'm hoping and praying Ultron kicks the bricks out of them and proves to the world they aren't invincible. That's kind of why I don't like Hulk too much. There hasn't been much variability with him as of yet. But Hulk and Thor aren't marvel's golden boys. They don't push 1 or 2 characters in your face and in the media. I doubt half of the world even knows DC has superheroes other than Superman and Batman. Loki's not so bad, I do love him as character and I think he's fascinating to watch on screen, but not my absolute favorite character. The fans can get a little out of whack, with the obsession and all. Really I think it's because he's the only good villain we've really got this far which sucks. Hopefully Ultron is as awesome as he could be. So I guess you could say it's not them I don't like, just DC constantly shoving them in our faces for the past like 50 years with the million reboots and tv shows and what not. That I do hate. I do find it funny and also pathetic that DC have moved Batman vs Superman up a week. I thought they wanted that date to be able to compete with Marvel? It really is. They lack confidence so this is just a lame move by them trying to get the jump on Marvel. Big fail right there. Edited March 15, 2014 by Luna Lovegood Quote
Darth Lurtz Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Batman and Superman are guaranteed successes, so it's little wonder why they use them often. WB tried Green Lantern and that failed (it was a terrible movie). As for Marvel, the only reason why they use lesser known characters is because that's all they have left. We wouldn't see Iron man, Thor or the Guardians of the Galaxy if they still had their A-listers. Quote

However, if DC and WB collaborated to try and make a really good film for one of their other superheroes (and not make it extremely terrible like Green Lantern) then maybe that would make money. And I don't see how it matters that Marvel aren't using characters who are typically considered A-Listers. After all, at least they're taking the risk in giving characters such as Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy their own movies. As it is, all these movies have successfully transformed these characters from B-Listers and C-Listers into A-Listers. That's what is so impressive about how Marvel are doing things. That's all I'll say on this. After all, we don't want this thread to degrade into a Marvel vs DC debate. On a different note, have we seen any footage of Crossbones for Captain America: The Winter Soldier yet? Quote
