Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Well Chris Evans still has 3 movies left on his contract after Winter Soldier, so this seems like a pretty likely option. True, but that contract only obligates him to fill out three films if Marvel ask him to. It's up to Marvel whether they give him another three films or not; they aren't technically obligated to do so. Even so, dealing with what will happen to him is probably going to be saved for Captain America 3 or Age of Ultron. It should be fun to see how it ends up playing out. Quote
Mr Man Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I do hope the aforementioned shake up happens some film in the future. The whole MCM would get a little boring if it just had a series of films around each character, then an Avengers film, then sequels, then another Avengers, then more sequels. I liked how Thor 2 and WS are more sequels to the Avengers than their previous films. We need lasting consequences rather than a comic book reset when things get heavy. Quote

We need lasting consequences rather than a comic book reset when things get heavy. I agree with that. That's been the most interesting part about phase 2 so far (the concept of a Guardians of the Galaxy film aside). It would have been an awful move if Marvel ignored the consequences - good and bad - from The Avengers. Hopefully this trend of following on from The Avengers continues with Captain America 2. After all, we still have yet to see what the consequences are of The Avengers within SHIELD itself. Showing this is essential, especially if SHIELD are going to continue to have such a major role in the overall MCU. Quote
Ultron Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I really enjoyed Assembling a Universe! Really put into perspective how awesome the MCU really is (as if I needed a reminder). Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver concept art looked pretty awesome. And Hulkbuster is gonna be in it!!! AHH so excited! I wish we got to see Ultron though :( Guess I'll have to wait a little longer...it'll be worth it. Quote

Yeah, that concept art looked a lot better than what we've seen thus far of those characters in Days of Future Past. Them showing the Hulkbuster was really exciting - it almost seems they're going down a World War Hulk line in the movie, but it seems to me that'd clash with the whole Ultron arc. Quote

The only thing I'm disappointed with in their concept art is that I wish Scarlet Witch had her helmet even though I think Whedon said she won't unfortunately. Also that Quicksilver has no lightning bolt on his costume or no silver hair. Then again, just concept art. And Who knows? They may banish Hulk by the end of the movie or something. Also, did anyone notice that in the quicksilver concept art he's fighting multiple ultrons? Looks like they're taking more from the age of ultron comic than the name. I mean Ultron has made armies of robots before, in fact I have a few comics in which he does, but still! Looks like Iron Man's worst nightmares are coming to life! Someone using his technology for evil. Well, assuming Ultron is some sort of Iron man. Edited March 19, 2014 by Luna Lovegood Quote
The Legonater Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 The Scarlet Witch outfit is a bit odd, but I suppose her classic outfit doesn't really translate well on screen. Quicksilver's I'm fine with, and it may just be artistic licence but they seem to have the hair style done pretty well also. I'm not totally sure if those are supposed to be Ultrons or not, though I will grant they look pretty robotic. Quote
Ultron Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Umm could somebody link me to this? Well the pictures of quicksilver and scarlet witch concept art are here: http://marvel.com/images/gallery/gallery/209/marvel_studios_assembling_a_universe_unleases_new_phase_2_art#6-972693 Someone posted a pic of the hulkbuster vs hulk in the lisenced thread. I'm not sure what other seemingly robotic villains they'd be facing but hey, what do I know? I'm actually pretty fond of Scarlet Witches concept to an extent. Of course it's a lot different than her comic book version and it kinda reminds me of dark phoenix for some reason, but I still firmly believe it would look perfect with the helmet thing. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Why can't Disney make movies for everyone? This movie looks better by the day, definitey watching it days 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of release Quote
Ultron Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) Does anyone think this picture they released looks like Black ant? He's got the red eyes and black helmet. Maybe it's the lighting or maybe it's just antman, but still...something to consider. **EDIT** I just reviewed the pics, this "antman" has different armor than the ones in the other pics! I think it may actually be black ant! These pics have the same Red Y pattern on their suits! And yeah, these pics are from the test footage, but it's still interesting to note! Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I'm liking the look of this concept art. It's interesting that we are going to see the Hulkbuster Iron Man armour, but I really wonder how they're going to fit in a battle between Iron Man and Hulk when they're meant to be dealing with Ultron and his Ultron Sentinels (which seem like they're going to be in this based on the Quicksilver concept art). Speaking of Quicksilver, he is looking disappointingly bland and unremarkable. If we get a minifigure of him and give him a yellow head and hands, he will fit in perfectly with a LEGO City environment. I'm pleased to see that Scarlet Witch isn't equally bland; she doesn't look exactly as I had expected, but I like the direction they seem to be taking with her appearance. Hopefully we get concept art of other characters such as Vision and Ultron soon, possibly at SDCC. As for that theory about Black Ant, you may be over-analysing it (that may well just be Ant-Man in different lighting). However, we know so little about this film that nothing can really be ruled out at this stage. Is Black Ant a villain? If so, I would be happy if they chose someone like him to be a villain. He looks and sounds better than the entirety of Ant-Man's solo rogues gallery (Ultron asides) already. Quote

It is possible Ultron is using the armor or SHIELD duplicates to quickly make an army. Quote

It is possible Ultron is using the armor or SHIELD duplicates to quickly make an army. I had a feeling Ultron may have a thing for hacking Stark's armours. I suppose in the context of the film (from what we know so far) it seems to make sense to have Ultron hack into the Hulkbuster armour and fight the Avengers in it. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) It's not technically MCU, but we finally have a new trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past. This looks like it's going to be brilliant, and I'm loving how awesome the Sentinels are looking. *EDIT* The video I had originally linked seems to have been blocked, so I've updated with a new link. Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 If Storm dies I'm going to be so mad!!! Well, she is only meant to be having one scene now, so if she died it wouldn't be all too surprising. It would be disappointing if they killed off such a pivotal member of the X-Men though, and that's coming from someone who hasn't seen any of the modern X-Men films so far (Days of Future Past will be my first experience of cinematic X-Men). Quote
Moon_Knight Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 If Storm dies, several X-fans will be celebrating because many think she was a terrible Storm. I didn't mind. I got a little teary-eyed when I saw Iceman ice sliding. The X-Men movie I've been waiting for! Colossus better have some more scenes too. Oh yeah, here's some photos of Ultron (perhaps....). Quote

Snip Snip It's hard to judge from those pictures whether that is Ultron or not, but if it is then it's looking unusual. It looks too bulky to me, but I do like the detailing. Let's hope we get better pictures from all angles in the near future so as to be able to formulate a better opinion of this interpretation of Ultron. Quote
Sam892 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 If Storm dies I'm going to be so mad!!! Does it really matter? They're going to reset the universe so that all the previous films ( bar first class won't be in cannon). So even if storm dies she'll be alive at the end of the film. Quote
Ultron Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Oh yeah, here's some photos of Ultron (perhaps....). Awesome! He does look a little too buff to be Ultron though..Maybe it's a member of his robot army. Does it really matter? CMP Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 That suit is almost sure to be mostly for motion capture. It resembles bulky Iron Man armor. Interesting. Quote
Ultron Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 More Pics: Quicksilver looks SO much better than the DoFP one! YAY for silver hair!! I wish it was slicked back and shorter though..kinda looks strange but I'm not complaining. *cough* DoFP version *cough* Can't say that I like what Scarlet Witch is wearing but I'm sure she'll look better on screen than in some crummy picture. And I can't wait to see how Ultron looks once he's fully animated. It'd be so amazing if he kept upgrading himself in the movie and we got tons of different armors. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 That Ultron looks awesome so far. The "face" isn't at all what I was expecting, but it looks impressive enough for me to not need to complain about it. I also really like how creepy the face looks. Quicksilver still looks bland, but also still better than his upcoming appearance in DoFP. Scarlet Witch looks slightly more plain than the concept art had us believe, but it's still acceptable (and I'm sure she'll look amazing when using her powers). Quote
