I was hoping Joss Whedon would do Avengers 2, he did a fantastic job at Avengers Assemble. We'll see. Has anyone else seen any films James Gunn has directed? Dawn Of The Dead 2004 was awesome in my opinion.

That said, I'm still hoping to see a scene between Steve Rogers and an older Peggy Carter. It was a scene that was originally scripted for The Avengers, but landed on the cutting room floor: Cap/Carter deleted scene

It is cool that the new female lead will be a descendant. Maybe a granddaughter?

There probably will be, but likely at a bare minimum to avoid screwing around with whatever directors and screenwriters have planned for the Phase Two movies. Having SHIELD recruit solo movie sidekicks (War Machine, for instance) would be interesting to see.

There were rumours about him being planned to become the Vision in future films, but those are just rumours.

How would that even work? I think they killed him off way to early, but now that he is dead I think he, sadly, needs to stay that way.

I don't know why everyone loves Coulson so much, sure he was pretty cool but not enough for me to be excited by his possible presence in the new Avengers TV series. Now if Spider-Man had a cameo in the TV series I would be far more excited.

That would only work if the movie was set significantly before the events of The Avengers. It shouldn't be a problem if Disney and Sony really want to do it; I don't see why they shouldn't.

I don't know whether or not I'm in a minority with this - but I want to see Coulson revived somehow (yeah, it'd probably be magic). But the icing on the "S.H.I.E.L.D. Show Cake" would definitely be an appearance from Spidey.

I agree. Coulson's last words were "It would never have worked if they didn't have someone... to... avenge..." thus bringing new meaning into the Avengers name.
