You could put it that way. Personally I never had a problem with Ward's character, that's why I think it's a shame he's been thrown away so quickly. Now that I've thought about it though I hope he doesn't pop up again until at least Season 3. Next season would be too soon for me.

It's good to see Triplett will (?) act as his replacement though.

For some reason after re-watching the latest trailer for GotG, I think that Star-Lord and Nebula could be Skye's parents? Weird theory I know but plausible?

The ages don't really line up. Star Lord would have had to become a father around 13 or so. While not impossible, unlikely in a Marvel Disney product.

Plus the fact that Star lord has been in space since he was around 6.

Well Days of Future Past was fantastic, I would say the best so far, both of the X-Men films and the superhero films this year.

^ How did they do as far as respecting the original comic? I know you can't do a complete reproduction, but it's nice when directors make the nerds happy! :purrr: (Like the amazing spider man)

I've never read it sorry. But it really stands on it's own fantastically.

Saw DoFP:

Not bad. I'm not a big fan of the Xmen movies but I decently liked it. I find it funny that they basically have rebooted the entire xmen series as of now. Looks like X1-X3 never happened I guess. I actually really enjoyed Quicksilver but a few things bothered me: 1) The name. It's PIETRO. Not Peter. 2) obviously the costume was terrible. 3) Where was Scarlet Witch? They're like glued at the hips. She should be there. 4) How did Wolverine know him..? They barely interacted with the xmen in the comics, I believe.

1) They change characters names all the time in adaptations. (Isn't Magneto Max Eisenhardt in the comics?).

2) I Liked the costume, very tacky 70's, which was the point.

3) Little kid in a scene, she was changed from twin to younger sister.

4) From the future, presumably sometime between X-1 and The Wolverine, though we don't meet him on screen.

Also general thoughts:

It's confusing insofar as you can't tell from the end which films were written out and which survive.

Great use of characters.

Quicksilver was very amusing.

Where did Shadowcat's 'phase through things' turn into 'send people back in time'?

Why not just send Wolverine back to an earlier point and kill Trasks parents?

Just recast Nightcrawler already.

Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart are gods of acting, even if this film was crap I would still go and see them in it.

It seems that there was no need for the Weapon XI programme because of the Sentinel programme.

Future Sentinels are surprisingly scary and deadly for a superhero film.

Beast has a huge part, which is good as I like him (both past and future)

Young Magneto has finally stopped lapsing into Fassbenders Irish accent thankfully, unfortunately McAvoys Scottish accent keeps popping up.

Rouge is still pointless, Shadowcat is still cute, Iceman has a silly beard, Colossus dies twice, Storm looks much better with short hair.

Blink, Warpath, Sunspot, and Bishop are great additions.

Well Toad certainly looks different (mind you so did Sabretooth) from X1.

Shame Ink and Quill weren't in the Brotherhood in X-1

What happened to Havoc?

Young Striker is a prat, both other Strikers were much more layered.

This was basically the Les Mis movie of Xmen. Watch all the xmen die!

They didn't explain Shadowcats newly acquired abilities at all

If they had thought of killing his parents they wouldn't have done it. They were innocent people and didn't know they'd create a monster.

I was wondering the same thing about Havok...where the heck did he and the others go to..? Poor storytelling

I'm actually really surprised this is getting such good reviews...I don't think it's better than Avengers or Cap 2 at all. I enjoyed it...but not too much. I think it was all because of Quicksilver and his funny moments.

Well maybe prevent them from meeting or conceiving him or something, also I'm sure neither Magneto or Wolverine would have a problem with killing them for a bigger cause.

I had a lot more humour than I expected, which was good as those future scenes got quite dark.

Yeah, Ant Man has always kind of been the potential weak link in the chain. A virtually unknown character. A well liked director who is known more for his quirkiness than for big budget extravaganzas. Has photography started on it yet? Normally the term "creative differences" comes down to one or more of three things. The studio is not liking the story being presented ( common in pre production, look at Joss Wheedon leaving Wonder Woman. Boy did WB go wrong there.) the studio and director are at odds over final cut (typically happens later in production), or more commonly at this stage, budget conflicts. The director does not feel he can deliver what us needed at the price demanded. Which is a strong possibility in this case. Ant-Man has two opposed forces acting on it. He is a virtually unknown character outside of comic fandom. So the studio is going to be hesitant to commit a huge budget. But the only way for an Ant Man film to work is to be an expensive effects laden extravaganza. Think Honey I Shrunk the Kids dialed up to 11. (Weirdly GotG probably dodged this whole fight and just got handed a big bag o money because it is an even less known property, but it isn't considered a "comic book superhero" one. It is "Space Opera" which has a much much better track record.)

I'm guessing they wanted more connectivity with Antman than maybe Wright wanted? Maybe he wanted it to stand on it's own rather than be considered part of a series. Marvel has a very strict plan so I'm guessing he didn't want to do it according to their plans so he left. Hopefully that's the case. I don't think Antman is the problem here

To be honest Wright hasn't really done much good to Antman, I mean originally Antman was suppose to come out around the same time as Iron man 1 and Incredible Hulk. It's because Wright kept wanting to do other Projects (Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim and Worlds End) that it's taken this long to get him. The film has been delayed twice under Wright, and he's also the reason that Marvel changed Ultron's origin. While he's an good director, I feel this movie may finally get some momentum now he's left. I mean it's taken him 8 years to get to this point which is really a joke, especially considering how fast Marvel is moving with its other properties.

O wow, never thought about it like that. Was he really the reason they had to change Ultrons origin? I suppose that does make sense.

More problems a-brewing for the MCU (assuming that this is true of course):

Nah! That's perfectly normal in developing TV shows. It sounds like Sony gave him a shot with the big budget a Sinister Six movie. No one involved will begrudge him jumping at that.

Magneto is Eric Lensher in the movies and mostly in the movies. He is a German Jew. At times he has also been referred to as "Magnus". Maximoff is Wanda and Pietro's mothers name. Magda Maximoff. She was Roma. Wanda and Pietro did not know who their father was until their late teens.

Star-Lord and Nebula?! If my memory is correct he was kissing with Gamora and not Nebula?

Saw X-Men tonight:

Some things definitely irked me about the story. I never did read the comics of this particular story, so I don't know how the events unfold. From what I saw though, not liking that Wanda/Pietro aren't twins. I'm curious what the time frame between Fitsy Class and this were, more specifically Azazels death. I assume Nightcrawler was at least conceived Before his death. Or Fox is screwing with that origin as well. I loved those Adaptoids, wow! Overall, I thought the movie was great, just not picky comic book nerd things got me. Shaowcat having that ability was odd. Wonder why they dropped Logan where they did after everything was said and done? Seeing as Jean & Scott are both alive, I guess that means X3 never happened, as did the Phoenix...blah.

And oh my...pre teen Apocalypse. Can't wait for him to come to the big screen.

Wanda/Pietro aren't twins- They might be, the little girl could be Polaris, she is only credited as Peters Sister.

time frame between Fitsy Class and this were- FC was in the 60s this is in the 70s.

Azazels death etc.- According to the Origins Wolverine game Wraith is Nightcrawlers father in the Filmverse, however as that film (and the game) have been retconed it's still in the air. There is no Nightcrawler has to be Mystiques son at all, it doesn't add anything to their film characters in the same way Mystique isn't Rogues mother in the films.

X3 never happened- As far as I can guess when the two Proffs were having their psyic talk they old one may have mentioned to young one to not repress Jeans powers but to let her embrace them, maybe why her hair is red at the end.

pre teen Apocalypse- He will be a different actor in the next film.
