This was due mainly to having to run each line multiple times trying to keep them straight and ontop of each other. You can spot a few areas where I did that poorly. I've gotten a fair amount more skilled since those first three to the point where I won't be using those two top royals. To avoid sewing lines mor than once, I used thicker thread, I bought in haberdashery (I don't know if I'm using right term - I mean a shop that sells fabric and threads). It is thick enough to sew each line only once. If you got this kind of shop near you - maybe it's worth to go there. Edited August 6, 2013 by mrsniady1 Quote
rdrees15 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Wow nice. I am happy because one you were accurate about adding swivel guns on the railing. Your rigging is good. All and all a jewel of the sea. She is elegant and sleek. Good qualities for a ship. SO again Nicely done. Quote
Mr. Townsend Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 I've made some progress in the past month and would like to share it with you. Currently I have added chains to the channels, backstays and forestays are in place, and the staysails and spanker are set. I tried and tried on that sewing machine and I'm pretty confident in the quality of all my new work. I made each sail two or three times each... Mr. Townsend, on Flickr Quote
Sebeus I Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Yes!, along with that nice rigging the sails look magnificent, can't wait to see the square sails in place . Quote
