Apologies to the pocket book (grin, and I know your pain). Since the EN coach really didn't tie in to the locomotive, I don't see why a MOD should either. With a little more tweaking you could continue the middle dark blue stripe across the doors. You would have to nudge the 1x1 brick with handle down one plate, and thus, potentially rework how the clips are positioned, but that shouldn't be too hard. Actually, that would weaken the strength of the door, which might be okay if you don't open them much. Otherwise, looking at it, flipping the hinges so that the clip is on the door (using a plate) and the handle is on the diaphragm you could have the strength and reposition the connection.

That looks really good, i love the dark blue touch and i agree with replacing the dark green with more dark blue, i think that would make it look really classy!!

I look forward to seeing it all in brick :classic:

Happy building

I didn't know you could call LEGO and get parts like that; I thought only parts in the Pick A Brick were available for purchase. If I just call LEGO they'll be able to sell me some?

Sorry, I don't follow each topic, and I have just found out that I have never answered your question. As long as a set is not out of production, you can get any of its bricks by calling TLC's customer service. This way I also got the green BURPs as well as some other rare pieces for my replica of the Vestas Wind Turbine. As soon as a set has reached the end of its production cycle, certain special elements a set consists of are also no longer produced, of course. But they still have some spare parts in stock. Just call them to find out whether they still have the elements you need. Nowadays, there is a list of all the elements that are needed in the construction manual. And each brick has a number. Just tell them the number of the brick you need and the quantitiy you want.

Please forgive the sporadic updates/replies.

Below is a render with one end similar to the included coach and another with the lower stripes continued through the doors.

I purchased enough elements to build all four cars both ways but built the coaches similar to the included coach. My only dielimma now is to keep the Black roof or go with go with Medium Stone Gray. The Blue / Earth Blue / White combination looks really sharp but a tad dark with the Black roof.

Cheers from Claremore, Oklahoma USA! :classic:

I too like the look of the stripes continuing through the door, though the most important opinion is your own (you are building this for yourself after all). As for the roof, why not make a copy of your digital file and do a quick repaint to see if you like it better?
