Kez Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I liked the BTTF lego car before, but now that there are even more pictures it looks even better and I can't wait to get it, hopefully my store will have a good few in stock (I definitely want it but only 1 copy) Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Wow! It has just changed from awful to awesome. The figs are neat and I must say, everything except the hood looks fab. Quote
Lance Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 And now my son's seen it. Bugger Looks like we'll have to phone the Westfield manager and see if he can hold one for us, otherwise I'm not going to hear the end of this if it runs out of stock. Quote
jonwil Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 This has now gone from "meh" to "WOW" and "Must have", especially if the lowish price (which matches the Minecraft set) translates into other currencies and the $A price is reasonable. If you look at the picture of the overall car you can clearly see the Y shape of a printed (or stickered) part for the Flux Capacitor too To get a copy of the second-greatest movie car of all time (second only to the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 in coolness IMO) that not only has Doc AND Marty but a hoverboard as well is awesome. Even better that it can be built into all the various movie variants of the machine. Quote
just2good Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Lesson of the day week: Minifigures sell sets. Quote
Lance Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 To be honest I would have been fine with just Marty, but it was really nice of Lego to throw Doc in too. I hope the Jules Vern Time Train get's to 10,000 on Cussoo, since it would be nice to get another BTTF set. Maybe this will have the same fate as Minecraft (which is rumored to have more sets in the pipeline), and the Time Train will become an actual set. But yeah, what kid wouldn't want this? It's a flying car, and it looks sporty. Quote

An example would be the town square, could be either the 1950s skateboard chase, normally 1985 or the hover board chase. Quote
Kez Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I wonder if this set also comes with Einstein (the dog), that'd be pretty good if it did but its still a great set, I also like the skateboard with it but I would've probably preferred a hover board. Quote

Meatman Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Meh, the inclusion of the minifigs is cool, but I still don't like the hood of the car. Quote
BrickG Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Minifigures change everything. I'll be buying this. I wonder why the skateboard isn't the classic pink one :P. I'll mod the Delorean more to my liking and love all over the minifigures. Quote
just2good Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I called LEGO Direct, and they said that there isn't a release date for the United States on this set yet. Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I am going to echo what everyone else has said. I've been following this CUUSOO set for the last couple of months, and when that little image was released I was disappointed with that was going to be released. With the new info about the set, this is going to be a MUST HAVE for me. Can't wait. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) Everytime I talk with LEGO direct, they never release any information on upcoming sets. Obviously it will be released in the US, and I'm sure it won't be much later than the other release dates. Time will tell. The addition of the figures helps a lot. I don't love the car, but they hit the figures spot on, so I will more than likely stick to the original plan and pick one up. Edit: And to clarify for others who seem to think the set includes pieces for the other builds, the box package clearly states it has instructions to modify it to meet the 3 movies. It doesn't say it comes with the extra pieces. It will just tell you which pieces you will need. Makes sense to me. Edited June 24, 2013 by TheLegoDr Quote
Captain Nemo Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I was not happy when I first saw the pictures of this--because you know the hood is terrible. However the minifigures do bump up the overall rating, so I may pick this up as my first Cuusoo set. Maybe. Quote
Infernum Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I'm convinced! . Looks great! I can't wait to get my hands on this, if it stays in stock long enough. . Quote
GRogall Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I will post a better picture from the German July calendar here, wich gives us a better view of the model for now, sadly none of the two Minifigures are pictured...... until the HR images are available. Quote
Leewan Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Hum, looks nice. But I'll be waiting for the review before deciding whether I buy it or not. Quote
BrickG Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) While it's not very good I'd like to see someone do more than just better with the hood at minifigure scale. All the "good" sets are much larger. Not sure it's possible to get a model we'd all love at this size with existing lego pieces. EDIT: I swear that brown hair mold Marty has is in every set Lego has released this year :P. Edited June 24, 2013 by BrickG Quote
CopMike Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Keep watching Eurobricks and you might get an early review . Quote
strangely Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 The minifigures don't wow me, however being able to change it's appearance to match any of the three movies does. The hood and windshield looks bad, but I feel like this is one of those sets that will be better in person. So I might just have to buy this. Quote
Faefrost Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) Minifigures change everything. I'll be buying this. I wonder why the skateboard isn't the classic pink one :P. I'll mod the Delorean more to my liking and love all over the minifigures. The borrowed Hoverboard was pink. Marty's regular wheeled skateboard was not. Lego may not be able to use the Hoverboard in a set because of a weird licensing quirk. In BttF2 the Hoverboard was one of many jokes involving future product placement. The Hoverboard was supposedly a Mattel product. And Mattel does have some modern rights to it as a toy. They just released an anniversary edition (fake) Hoverboard last year. This should not represent a big amount of parts, so I do not see why they would not include the few extra needed parts (like the Creator sets sometimes have extra parts to the main model, used only by alternate models) Quote
