BlueberryWaffles Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) So...we have a release date yet? Want to buy this bad. I was on CUUSOO and I saw this. It's the best DeLorean I've seen, even has the Flux capacitor. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/18998# Edited June 27, 2013 by Tolkien Quote
Sam892 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I know this is really picky of me, but from the picture the skateboard is pretty inaccurate. Marty's skateboard in the film has a purple underneath, a black top and yellow wheels. I don't think it would have been difficult for lego to have included a black sticker for the top of the board. They've done it for other skateboards and the wheels have also been produced in Yellow before. I know it's very picky and not at all reflective of the overall set, but it would have been cool of LEGO to have done this. At the moment it seems that Mcfly has stolen It from Donatello. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Actually Donnie's board has a black top Quote
Sam892 Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Actually Donnie's board has a black top Does it? See his is what I'm talking about include the Sticker in the Delorean . Here's a picture of Marty Mcfly's Skateboard for anyone who can't remember it http://iamrabbani.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/valterraboard-lg.png Apart from that and the Hood, the set is very accurate in terms of the Minifigure printing and size of the car. On another note Marty reminds me of Frodo or Luke Skywalker. Do the mini figures share the same head? Also I hope they have alternate faces. Quote
tafkatb Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Well, just about every skateboard has a black top since that's the standard color of griptape. But I hate stickers more than I like movie-accurate detail. Speaking of which, after staring long and hard at what few pictures we have, I am pretty sure the flux capacitor and date readout are printed, not stickered. Quote

But Michael J. Fox looks a lot like Elijah Wood to me. Quote
antp Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 looks a lot like Elijah Wood to me. As Elijah also starred in Back to the Future II, that's still ok for the set :D Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Still waiting on some kind of "official" announcement about this, with info on U.S. price and availability. Quote
hachiroku Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I built one based on the released pic http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=83996 Quote
GRogall Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Just to confirm the set will be out in Europe on the 18th, although there was some hick-up the date stands! Quote
PocasNuckie Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Just to confirm the set will be out in Europe on the 18th, although there was some hick-up the date stands! 18th July or August?? Quote
Lance Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Just talked to the Shepherd's Bush Store manager, and he's going to reserve one for me and my son Quote
Demetreous Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 The next CUUSOO set will be 21103 Back to the Future™ Time Machine. Unfortunately the Modular Western Town project conflicts with an ongoing project at the LEGO Group and a result, the project does not meet the business case requirements and has not passed the LEGO Review. You can read all about it on the CUUSOO blog. Well, we now know that the "conflicting project" is/was most likely The Lone Ranger... Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Indeed. But at least the Lone Ranger theme turned out pretty great. Quote
hachiroku Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Just to guarantee, July 18th and 34,99€ in Europe. Right? Quote
just2good Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Just to guarantee, July 18th and 34,99€ in Europe. Right? That's what it seems like! Quote
Sam892 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 So the set comes out in 8 days, but there hasn't been a official press release or proper unveiling. LEGO are really playing this close to the end. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Me thinks the unveiling is at SDCC. Except for that it starts on the 18th. Quote
