Leewan Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Oh, nice ! I might get this set, the more I see it, the more I like it. :D Quote
Laservampire Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Could the box of stuff on the hood be anymore comically oversized? Quote
Faefrost Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I doubt they'll succed. But I'm sure we'll never know ... Just how many people out there are collecting BTTF toys? Not a place I'd start up a new business that's for sure Tell that to Aoshima, Polar Lights, Welly among others. It's weird but the BttF time machine is such an iconic model that it probably only sits behind the classic Barris Batmobile in terms of him well it does in a plastic model or die cast medium. Quote
jonwil Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Now that I have seen even more pictures of this, it remains on my "must buy as soon as its available to Australia" list. The only movie car that would be a cooler LEGO set would be the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (and with several of them on Cuusoo right now I am sure at least one of them can get to 10k and be considered for production by LEGO) Quote
Ragnar_Deerslayer Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 This might be the first LEGO set my wife wants more than I do. Ragnar Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) I LOVE that new pic! BTTF 3 DeLorean looks good, and I was just going to ask Grogall if he knew if there was two different license plates. At over 400 pieces, I'm guessing it'll be $35-40. Edited July 16, 2013 by Tolkien Quote
soundwarp Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Has anyone gotten confirmation this is not coming out for the USA July 18th? Quote
just2good Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Has anyone gotten confirmation this is not coming out for the USA July 18th? Kinda. LEGO Direct said they're not sure when it's coming out, and same goes for my local LEGO Store. I doubt they wouldn't be informed of the set's release date three days before it comes out, so I'm assuming it's not, and it's likely it's not. Quote

Cogito Lego Sum Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 That car looks like a piece of junk to me, especially the hood, the radiator grill, the doors... The original model on Cuusoo was better, without a doubt. But I chose Modular Western Town, anyway. The minifigs are cool, though. Quote
lostdriveway Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Super excited about this set - I think the car looks pretty good and I love that fact it combines all 3 movies. Looks like I'll be adding a shed for Doc Brown to my town soon! Quote
Speedboat Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Looks like it's gonna be a great set! I don't have any problems with the hood construction, all in all the car looks just fine to me. I'll surely pick one of these sets up next time I visit a LEGO store! Quote
harmacy Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Easy decision for me - Im getting 3 and modding the hood on BTTF1 and BTTF2 versions. I also just googled 'Flux capacitor', to see if there was a spelling error on the original movie version - Nope - its correct. Quote
Esurient Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 This CUUSOO set looks good! Can't wait for its release! Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 So am I right in thinking that this set comes out 18th July in the UK and 1st August in the US? If so how come we're getting it before America, not that I'm complaining or anything just curious. Because we still don't have The 2013 lord of the rings sets!!!!!!! And what just2good said.. You what back to the future quotes eh... GREAT SCOTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
antp Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) If you have the palace cinema, you could use the black convertable as Bifs 1950s car. That would also look great next to this set. They would look great together because both cars look awkward? Has anyone seen this already? I am posting from a Pad, so I can not see if the picture fits in the 800x600 resolution max... I hope so! (Source 1000steine.de) Nice. I'm tempted of taking two: one for keeping the set as it is, and one for modding. They should have added the thin long antenna for the version from the 1st movie, like how the car was at the end when they needed to transmit the power through the clock tower. Could the box of stuff on the hood be anymore comically oversized? I do not find it bad, but indeed it is too big. It should be 1/3rd of the width rather than 1/2, and they should have kept 1 stud between the front and the box. Edited July 16, 2013 by antp Quote
The Real Indiana Jones Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Ah, and so if they are labeling this one as "Cuusoo set #004" (with two leading zeroes), then I guess they intend to go all the way up to "Cuusoo set #999" (or at least more than 99, right?)!! =D Quote
Pierre_Cochereau Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 .They should have added the thin long antenna for the version from the 1st movie, like how the car was at the end when they needed to transmit the power through the clock tower. Well, I have so many spares of this antenna as there's always an extra in the sets which have them ... So I'll just add one, set up some black thread between the town hall and cinema from 10184, and Minifig Marty is all set to go back to 1985. Quote
Dane Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Love this set, Lego is giving us all 3 versions in the same box plus two great minifigs and what looks like a lot of printed parts. If people don't like this, then just don't buy it! There is plenty of other great LEGO sets at the moment Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) I just really hope this will be easier to get than Minecraft. It took me about a year to finally get that one. I can't wait any longer for BTTF! Edited July 16, 2013 by Tolkien Quote

Mr Bill Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 The August first release date is good news, thoguh I WAS hoping for a July 18th release. Wasn't that the date of the original fim''s release??? My local Lego Store here in San Diego was either truly in the dark or play a good game of keeping mum about it when I asked them yesterday if it would be out this week. Of course, since my daughter was the only person in our family able to snag ComiCon tix before they sold out in 10 seconds I'll give her a few $ to get me one this weekend. Regarding modding the hood with a 4515: that will be a bit tricky with the headlight/grille space being 7 studs wide and the lower hood being 6-wide and upper hood being 8-wide. Not impossible -- just tricky! Count me among those who will probably get 3 to build each version! Too bad it doesn't have all three versions of the minifigs like the Cuusoo pitch build did! --Mr Bill Quote
marvinblue Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Wow ... this looks really great! So ... who else is thinking of getting this set, putting it next to 10184 Town Plan and recreating the movie? LOL!! When Town Plan was originally released, I said to my wife that all that set needed was some BTTF minifigs and you just about had Hill Valley. So, in answer to your question; Me!! I will most definately buy this set, when I have a chance to. I don't think we'll see it in retail stores in Australia, but, you never know. Plus, there's always eBay and Bricklink!! Quote
