Hoke slowly stirs from his rest. He he presses the heels of his hands into his eyes to push the last remnants of sleep from his head. He gets up, rolls up his bed roll, and stretches out his body. He checks over his gears one more time and listens to the latest information from Vipera, They Grey Wizard and Zane. He moves closer to Vipera.

"Your presence in our last battle is much appreciated." Hoke scratches the dragon in an affectionate but non-patronizing manner. "Be safe my friend. I do not want to see you meet the same fate as some of our allies. Hopefully we will meet again soon."

Hoke turns to see Arthur mumble incoherently like a mad man and turns back to Vipera.

"Is there anything you or The Grey Wizard can do to aid him?"

Cronk feels hastened thing might be worst thing end monster could have, but maybe blinding would be useful to prevent free hit anyway? Cronk is unsure.

Hate doing this in OOC, but saying it IC would both be unreadable and would require knowledge of stuff that Arthur doesn't know IC. Our team should go after the Chaos Beasts, since the XX team would only benefeit Arthur (and besides, he doesn't even have his Scroll of Sealing, so it'd be pointless to defend it). However, Nyx should go to the XX spire unarmed and seduce negotiate with XX, just for roleplaying (i.e. "I can't and won't fight you right now, but hear me out" or something). Hastening is astually not too big a deal, since we have Counter-Strikers and a Cloak of Deception, meaning we can turn it to our advantage.

In terms of teams, I'd keep one Assassin on each team, put Haldor in the Court group, Hoke in the Chaos Beast group...and still working on the rest. Also, I need to point out that even if Arthur goes to the Court, he's out of action for now and so won't be fighting. And it's probably best for the team if Atters is not in a group that Arthur may go with, so I'd send him after the Chaos Beasts as well, along with Skrall. I think Dyric would be best with the Court group, though he should borrow Hoke's Cultist Hat so he can keep the Scarf equipped. That means Alexis should go after the Chaos Beasts. Also, Cronk has to go with the Court, so he can recruit any guards they may meet.

Nyx listens as Vipera speaks, the shrieks almost painful to hear. She turns away as she hears his name, so many feelings washing over her. She had hoped.... she has been foolish to hope, she realises. But still.. She sighs, and moves back to the group, towards Cronk, just in time to hear Arthur's exclamation.

"I see Arthur's gone odd again. I hope he doesn't pee on my bedroll.

Cronk... I don't know how much you know, but part of me is drawn to seeing XX. I.. find it difficult to say more. I fear, though, that I would engage in a similar mission to Atramor's. I understand if you have more vital tasks for me, but.. if you send me, I would need a Smoke Bomb, and.. I should like my Explosive Staff back. Wherever you feel I would help our efforts best, I will go."

She looks at Atramor as she speaks of the Staff. She knows it's a big request, and that he can wield it well with his poison, but.. the connection.

Atramor found himself more or less unable to respond to Dyric and Haldor. He couldn't possibly tell them what'd occurred. But he was sure that if the chance came....the Large Pongcanis would hardly have any head left for Haldor to have. It hardly helped to stifle the guilt, but Vipera's short chat with him...while almost painfully familiar.....gave him some comfort. He sighed quietly as she explained Wren's next targets, but frowned at Arthur's sudden bout of insanity, and even moreso at Nyx's decision to go...reason with XX?

"...I think it'd be best to go after the Chaos Beasts. The beast bein' hastened won't mean a damn thing if we can blind it. That said, I think Skrall, Dyric, Hoke and I should head for the Court, leavin' Cronk, Alexis, Arthur, Thothwick, and Haldor to take the Spire."

He turned his head to Nyx.

"Ya' think ya' can reason-...?"

He paused, noting the battle mage's unsuredness about...whatever she thought of the mercenary. He handed over the Explosive Staff without waiting for a clearer explanation, one that he was pretty sure he didn't want to hear, and quite seriously suspected he wouldn't understand anyway.

"...In any case, don't die, or Boomin'ham'll see to it I follow ya'."

Alexis is on the verge of tears seeing Arthur in this state. He hands her the die. "Thank you. I'll be sure to use this." She equips the die. "What's gotten into you?" She cries.

Skrall glanced over at Arthur, "Oh dear, here he goes again. Make sure he stays away from any high turrets or windows." Skrall turned back to Cronk, "Here's what I'm thinkin', those wieldin' holy blades should head off to take care of the chaos beasts in the sewers, that includes yerself and Haldor, and I'd suggest ya take Hoke, Phil, and Poletad with ya as well. Thothwick, Hans, and Atramor should come with me, as well as Dyric to the court. Alexis and Arthur should probably go to the spire in the sewers with ya, though I don't think Arthur's really in the best condition to be fightin' right about now."

Skrall turned to Nyx, "Miss, I know ya have some sort of history with that devil of a bombster, but ya know as well as I that he can't be bought. There won't be any reasonin' with him and you'll sittin' by when we could use ya other places. If history is to show us anythin', I don't doubt we'll be seein' him soon enough later on. I'd prefer it if ya were to accompany me to the court. If this, Zee, is going to be there, I'd rather have people who have dealt with her before."

Hoke rubs his stubbled chin and listens intently to the strategic discussions. He decides to weigh in.

"At most we should split into 2 groups. Mayhaps it would be best to split those with Light powered abilities between the Chaos Demons and the Court if there is combat to be found at the Court since our encounter with the Court have included both Demons and Undead.. I think it most unwise to send out a lone companion on a fool's errand. I do not doubt your prowess Lady Nyx, but I do doubt this XX's willingness to be persuaded away from his mission. As we have learned from our most recent encounters, a single ally can make the difference in victory or defeat."

As I see it, we want Skrall on Chaos Beasts for 9x damage, Cronk or Haldor on Chaos Beasts thanks to Light weapons, and Hoke on Chaos Beasts for Light damage and so he has a shot at his Plaything. Meanwhile, at the Court we want Dyric with Scarf and Hoke's Cultist Hat for Jinxing damage vs. undead, Thothwick for damage vs. undead, Atters for Deadly Poison and Fragile and Mass Illusion vs. undead, and Alexis for Hastened Lucky assassination. Also, Arthur is either going to the Court or else remaining with Gray, he has no motivation to take the sewers. If we really need him, he'll do more good at the Court anyway.

Nyx... Sometimes passion burn so bright it is hard to see true path. Trust Cronk on this. Beings... get hurt.

Cronk has not met XX, but Cronk understands that XX follows orders when paid to do so. Wren wants friends dead.

Cronk does not want to send Nyx alone. No friend should be alone right now. Party almost lost Mallelio that way and did lose Triad. It is best to stick to groups.
