OoC: Some of the pictures in this post are forthcoming. It turns out that the lighting during the winter is... fickle at best. I apologize, we will start to play in more earnest after the holidays. Remembering, the opening of all Zepher Quests are a bit clunky... but they can only improve from there, right?

The party steps into the Park as the sun finally peaks and begins to shine palely in their eyes. It is eerily quiet, almost deserted. They walk forward carefully, glancing around, looking for Choas Beasts. They hear the sound of thrashing and low, ominous howling, almost a hissing. They walk forward nervously. Near one of the strange Stone Pillars in the Stone Gardens, three Chaos Beasts stand. As the heroes approach, they turn. The leader, more dark, somehow, than the others, raises a single hand and points at the heroes. The other two advance, and the heroes whirl around upon hearing shuffling from behind. There are three more Chaos Beasts there... the heroes are surrounded.

Atramor looks forward, then whips his head sideways, glancing at the Chaos Beasts behind the other heroes. McCafferey looked between the three groups, ruffling her feathers, and taking flight, landing on one of the pillars. The witch merely grinned, and tugged the Cat 'O' Nine Tails out of his cloak, and with a wicked crack, he snapped the weapon towards Chaos Beast A, from the front row.

What class are the town watchmen? Also, Alexis re-arranged her artifacts, now with the Helmet, Quiver, and Monkey Bar equipped.

OoC: I'm assuming the NPC's are being controlled by CM, also do they have specials?

"Most I've ever seen at once was three, seems like they've learned their lesson from last time though." Unholstering his crossbow Skrall set a bolt in the weapon and hefted it at Chaos Beast B from the back row. "It's been a while black beasties. Yer Mistress didn't want to come out and play?"

All classes are outlined in this post! I will post that link at the beginning of each battle from now on!

I have also corrected Alexis' gear. Thank you, and sorry! Hoke, just say which items you wish have equipped at the beginning of the battle, it will not cost you a turn!

The NPCs, as always in a Zepher Quest, will act of their own accord. They will ALMOST ALWAYS honor suggestions, but are not technically controlled by anyone. This is done so that (a) if there is a specific thing they would do as a character, they will do it, and (b) the PL is NOT the only one who has a say in what they do. The exception is McColt, who WILL do EXACTLY what the PL tells him to.

Poletad doesn't have a Shield (it's blank), and also, is Hans in Chaotic or Ordered Battle Style? I'm hoping Ordered, otherwise he's nearly useless...

"Three, and that was on a really bad day. Come on, Zoot er Isen, let's see what you're made of!"

Haldor takes a swipe at Chaos Beast C from the front row.

Zepher, I just realised that Haldor's maximum health should be 39.

"I'll take the Master, with Light, Back Row. Rone, I suggest you join me, all of these seem vulnerable to Assassination, and if any of 'em need to go, it's their leader."

Clunky as promised!! IT WILL IMPROVE AS YOU ALL KNOW! Poletad's shield added, Hans is Orderly, Master of Chaos Beasts Immune to Instant Kill (apologize for not adding this, negative effect him to death though). Alexis' artifacts updated, but that means she can't perform the action she just chose to do. Cronk is away until the 24th, Skrall or Nyx, pick his action/the Battle Order.

"Well these are new to me. Guess I'll try my diamond!" Alexis casts two light spells at Beast E.

Haldor ceased beheading his beast for a moment, purely to raise an eyebrow.

"Your memory that bad, Alexis? We tackled a rather old one back down in the valley, remember?"

Cough cough.

Zepher, I just realised that Haldor's maximum health should be 39.

Good times, weren't those? If you ignore the mass battle and the fake Feltons, I mean. It suddenly strikes me that most if not all our party from that quest is here. Interesting.

I pull my Briar Bow out, hefting it for the first time. With cautious, I heed Arthur's advice and target the Master from the back row.

WBD, as Cronk is away, I'm asking you to pick his action/McColt's action, and post the Battle Order! Pandora, if you feel like doing it and WBD has not yet, go for it!

I don't know why I keep getting the mental imagery of a raging thunderstorm for this battle, but I'm rolling with it.

"Cronk, Atramor, Harkenshire, and I faced down three in the Battle of Drakencourt as well, if you'll recall. And apologies, Master Rone, it appears my initial assessment was incorrect. The other Beasts are likely to fall to your Assassination, however."

As rain starts to pour down upon the battlefield, transforming the grass and dirt of the park to slick mud, Arthur shouts out his tactical analysis to the other Heroes.

General Battle Strategy:

"All right, here's my analysis of the battle:"

"In terms of actions and abilities, we outnumber these Beasts almost three to one; however, that's no excuse for us to let down our guard. If you can attack at full strength from the Back Row, do it, no excuses. I think we can do just fine this battle in terms of damage, so Hans doesn't need to drink a mead this round, he can simply attack. Sir Poletad, I think you'd be best served staying on healing guard. Triad, I feel you ought to join me in attacking the Master, as you have no chance of Bleeding out if you are struck."

"So far as avoiding Free Hits, we're more than covered, just make sure to pay attention so none of them get a Free Hit through our carelessness. I would suggest that as many Light-weilding Heroes attack the same target as possible, let's focus fire as we can to take the beasts out quickly; that means Hoke, Cronk, Hans, Miss Nyx, I suggest all of you join Haldor, Alexis, or myself in our attack; I, personally, would prefer you take Beast E with Alexis, so as to have maximum firepower concentrated on that target."

"Remember to make conditional actions, especially if you are fighting alongside Master Rone here; if youe target falls before you engage it, make sure you have a backup in mind! For those who I asked to target Beast E, I suggest you attack Beast C if E falls. Master Skrall, I would suggest putting myself and Master Rone at the top of the Battle Order, so that my Stunning and his chances of Assassination are poised to provide the most benefeit to the rest of the party. As far as Captain McColt's actions go, I'd recommend Hastening Master Rone, followed by Sir Cronk and then myself, assuming no one takes serious damage this Round."

It suddenly strikes Dyric that that was Jess on that quest, not Alexis, and he has promptly mixed up everything. Dyric proceeds to feel like an idiot.

Already stated actions (in order of submission):

Atramor (Cat O' Nine Tails) v. Chaos Beast A (Front Row)

>Skrall (Hunter's Crossbow) v. Chaos Beast B (Back Row)

Haldor (Zoot er Isen) v. Chaos Beast C (Front Row)

>Arthur (Light, Sir Roderick's Sword) v. Master Chaos Beast (Back Row)

>Alexis (Light, Mockthril Longbow) v. Chaos Beast E (Back Row)

>Alexis (Light, Mockthril Longbow) v. Chaos Beast E (Back Row)

Dyric (Briar Bow) v. Chaos Beast D (Back Row)

Suggested Battle Order:

Dyric

Arthur

Hans (since his Shield has a shot at halving Health, he always needs to go early in the Round)

Hoke

Nyx

Triad

Bennetton

Gnash

Alexis

Thothwick

Cronk

Alexis

Atramor

Haldor

Poletad

Arthur continues to strategise. "If one of the Guard takes Chaos Beast C, Haldor and Cronk can be on healing guard in case someone gets hurt--this is particularly important for Alexis since she's acting twice each round. Keep that in mind--we ALWAYS need some sort of healer in between a Hastened Hero's two actions. Atramor obviously needs to keep attacking until all of the enemies are poisoned, but once that's done he can remain on healing guard as well."

"My weapon'll poison 'em all in one hit. Once they are, I'll just start using my Heavy Flail. Speakin' of which...perhaps I should borrow that scarf next battle, I could inflict all of them with the Jinxed effect usin' the whip."

Hoke tightens his Warrior Treads and Cloak of Deception.

He retrieves his Diamond from its pouch and calls forth its energies against the A from the back row.

(Magic deals normal damage from the back row, correct? If not, from the front.)

Yes, it does, that's one of the nice perks we Mages get.

"Good point, Atramor, if we're in a decent spot next Round we could even swap then. Also, remind me to loan Miss Nyx my crown, she'll make better use of it than I could, and she could probably wear the thing without lookin' too silly, either. Skrall, after this battle's over, I'd like to borrow that shiny-looking coin of yours, I think it'd serve me well."

When CM and Pandora get back, we'll totally min-max the party.

"Cronk keep Alexis covered, go after that last Chaos beast with that shiny sword of yers from the front. Hans and Triad go with him and stay to the front and back of the Party respectively. Captain, Gnash help Dyric out with that second to last Chaos Beast from the front. Regulus we'll talk coin after this battle. McColt see if ya can encourage Ms. Nyx."

<Poletad, hang back and the first one that takes damage make sure ya heal them back row.>

Battle Order:

Arthur

Dyric

Hans

Triad

Alexis

Hoke

Nyx

Atramor

Skrall

Captain Bennetton
